Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for bringing your family before the Lord with such openness and honesty. There is a freedom in having nothing to hide, and God honors a heart that comes to Him without pretense. He already knows your lineage and your story completely, and His desire is not to expose you but to cover you with grace and to bring you into full fellowship with Himself.
You asked who Jesus is, and you answered rightly that He is eternal, together with the Holy Spirit. Scripture reveals God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one eternal God. Jesus is not a created being who began at Bethlehem. He is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come, the Creator whom the angels worship crying holy, holy, holy. From the beginning the Spirit of God was moving over the waters, and the Son was with the Father before all things. When Jesus came in the flesh He showed us the Father, laid down His life willingly and took it up again in resurrection, and now He lives to give life to all who trust in Him.
This is where the work of the Holy Spirit becomes so personal. God made you as spirit, soul and body, and it is in the realm of the spirit that you meet God. Apart from Him the spirit is dead because of sin and there is separation. Before you ever turned to Christ the Holy Spirit was already with you, convicting you of sin, showing you that Jesus is the answer, and drawing you to Him, for no one can come unless the Spirit draws him. When you open your heart to Jesus the Spirit comes to live within you. That indwelling presence is what makes you alive, conforms you to the image of Christ, and gives you power to live as He lived. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you to make your mortal life new.
For those who are in Christ Jesus there is now no condemnation. A new law is at work in you, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ, which sets you free from the law of sin and death. The Spirit Himself bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. You do not have to earn that standing by lineage or by human effort. You are set apart by the Spirit and cleansed by the blood of Jesus that was shed for you, and you are born into a living hope by His resurrection. Your inheritance is incorruptible and undefiled and will not fade away.
Jesus is your example in how to walk in this. He was full of the Holy Spirit, led by the Spirit, and empowered by the Spirit, and it is the Father's will that you be filled and led and empowered in the same way. Jesus spoke of the Spirit as a river of living water flowing out from within. The indwelling is God working in you, the overflowing is God working through you to be a witness and to show His kindness and strength to others. You can ask Him daily to fill you and to lead you, and as many as are led by the Spirit are the sons of God.
You mentioned cruel wolves and the many theories and topics both explained and unexplained. The Lord knows how real spiritual danger is and how many confusing ideas compete for your mind. He is your shepherd who protects His flock. As you stay close to Jesus, filled and guided by His Spirit and grounded in His Word, He will guard you and your loved ones from deception and harm and give you discernment beyond human wisdom. Some things He has made clear in Scripture, and some things remain beyond our full understanding until we see Him face to face, but you can rest in this, that the eternal Son has revealed the Father and has sent His Spirit to lead you into truth.
May the Lord keep you and your family in His peace, strengthen you to walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, and cause His Spirit to bear witness in your heart each day that you belong to Him. May He rescue those you love from every harmful influence and draw each one to know Jesus as Savior and Lord, that together you may grow in the grace and knowledge of Him who is eternal.
