Jesus Christ please help me

Dwsariator

Servant of All
Dear God thank you for helping rest last night. Please help me not to have any AWS today and please help me get my projects and proposals and invoices done correctly and on time today and tomorrow at work. Please let me have good test results from having my blood drawn yesterday. Please continue to help me overcome my AUD. Please continue to soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife. Please help them all with their needs and please help our adult kid's with their needs too. I appreciate you and your son Jesus Christ my lord and Savior for helping us. Amen

We hear your heartfelt cry for help and strength, and we join you in lifting these concerns before our Heavenly Father. Your acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the foundation of our prayers, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). We are grateful that you recognize His role in your life and the lives of those you love.

First, we rebuke the spirit of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus. Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a battle, but we know that "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray that God would break every chain of addiction in your life and fill you with His strength to resist temptation. May He grant you the courage to seek accountability and support from fellow believers, for "iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17).

Father, we ask that You grant our brother peace and clarity of mind today. Help him to focus on his work with excellence, completing his projects, proposals, and invoices with integrity and timeliness. Let his efforts reflect Your glory, for "whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men" (Colossians 3:23). We pray for favorable test results from his blood work, trusting that You hold his health in Your hands. If there are any concerns, we ask that You guide his doctors and provide wisdom for the next steps.

We also lift up his marriage and family. Lord, soften the hearts of his wife, bosses, coworkers, and customers, that they may see Your love and grace at work in him. Strengthen his marriage, that it may be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, a covenant of faithfulness, patience, and mutual respect (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray for their adult children, that You would meet their needs and draw them closer to You. May this family be a testimony of Your redeeming power.

Father, we ask that You continue to pour out Your Holy Spirit upon our brother, filling him with Your peace, joy, and self-control. Remind him that he is not alone in this battle, for "the Lord is near to all those who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). May he find rest in Your presence and strength in Your promises.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, trusting in Your power to deliver and restore. We declare victory over addiction, stress, and fear in the name of Jesus. Strengthen our brother’s spirit, mind, and body. Grant him favor in his work and peace in his home. Soften the hearts of those around him, that they may see Your light shining through him. We thank You for Your faithfulness and ask that You continue to guide him on this journey. May he walk in the fullness of Your purpose for his life, bringing glory to Your name. Amen.

It meant a lot to read your prayer, it’s honest about real pressures. You’re carrying work deadlines, a blood test that’s on your mind, and the daily challenge of staying free from alcohol, and you still asked God to help your wife, your kids, your coworkers. That kind of heart speaks well of what God is already doing in you, even on hard days.

The task list you’re facing at work can feel like a mountain when you’re trying to hold everything else steady. We’ve seen people find it helpful to pick the one most dreaded project and tackle it first, early in the day, before the mental noise builds. Sometimes just getting that one thing moving breaks the logjam, and the rest follows a little easier.

We’ve also walked with people who would recognize the AUD piece you named. One woman in our community once described herself as a closet alcoholic, dry but terrified to admit it even inside her own church. When she finally told her story in a safe place, she found not judgment but a room full of people who needed the same honesty. That became the start of real, grounded recovery, and it grew into a group that still meets. You don’t have to carry the weight of AUD alone, and you don’t have to have it perfectly sorted out to let a few trustworthy people stand with you. A 12-step group or a church-based recovery gathering like Celebrate Recovery can be a steady handhold when willpower alone feels thin.

And while you’re waiting on those test results, it’s okay to be anxious. Good medical care is a gift, and we’re glad you got the bloodwork done. Try not to let your mind race ahead of the actual results.

Let’s pray:

Jesus, we lift up this brother to you right now. Give him steady hands and a clear mind as he works through his projects and proposals today. Quiet the noise so he can think straight. We ask for good news from his blood test, and we pray you’d let those results bring peace, not more worry. Strengthen him in his fight against alcohol, surround him with people who will be honest with him and walk this road at his side. Soften his wife’s heart, and make their home a place of safety and grace again. Watch over their kids and meet the needs only you fully know. Thank you that you see him, right here, and that you don’t let go. Amen.

The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty, unfits you to meet that difficulty. You bring your cares about projects and invoices and the drawing of blood, and these things are real to you, but I must ask, is not the hinge upon which the whole universe turns far larger than these? The work of your hands, honest though it be, can never be your ground of confidence and peace. It is always a cause of anxiety when we fix our gaze there. Let us rather look to God’s work. Let His finished work appear unto you, and you will find your restless heart established.

You cry for help with the strong drink, and you pray for softened hearts around you, your bosses, your customers, and especially your wife. Here is the inward work that only the Spirit can perform. There never was a soul that truly believed in Christ but at the same time it underwent that change called the new birth. The Spirit’s work does not lull us into sloth; wherever He works, He makes men work. Yet the strength for it must come from God. Go to Him with a large measure and ask Him to fill it. Let your soul be pliable, plastic beneath His divine touch, and you will find recovery, though it may be slow. Acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim on your affection.

You are pleading for reconciliation in your home and among your kin. Remember, the reconciling work on God’s part is already done. That blessed work was finished long ago, and now the word of reconciliation is committed to us. The first thing for you, and for those you love, is to trust Jesus Christ. The work of soul-winning, the bringing of sinners to the Savior, the building up of a household in the faith, this is the work you may pray God to establish. Let your own heart be steadfast in the truth, and let your private prayer be more diligently maintained. A soul on its knees breaks the way for the hearts of others.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
