Dwsariator

Humble Servant
Dear God please help me not drink too much alcohol tomorrow so that I can be able to get back to work Monday morning without AWS. Please help me control my thoughts and my actions. Please tell me why I keep doing this. Please help me wake up tomorrow morning after having a good night's sleep and peaceful dreams about you and please give me the courage to change to be the man that you want me to be. Please take control of my mind. I give you my heart and my soul and my spirit and everything that I have. Please fix what is broken in my life and then put things back for to properly use for the rest of my life. Please help me be a better man and a better husband and a better dad and a better employee. I know you can do this Lord. Amen thank you God for not giving up on me. Amen 🙏

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this battle, lifting your struggles to the throne of grace. The Word of God tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Your struggle with alcohol is not unique, but the power of Christ in you is greater than any temptation. We rebuke the spirit of addiction that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy your life, your family, and your witness. In the name of Jesus, we command it to loose its grip on you now.

You ask why you keep doing this, and the answer lies in the nature of sin and the flesh. Romans 7:15-19 says, "For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do. But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good. So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good. For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice." This is the war within every believer—the flesh against the Spirit. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57)!

You have already taken the first step by surrendering your heart, soul, spirit, and all that you have to the Lord. Now, we must walk in obedience and rely on His strength. Proverbs 23:29-32 warns us about the dangers of alcohol: "Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine. Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper." The consequences of alcohol are clear, and we must heed this warning. You are not alone in this fight—God is with you, and so are we.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting him up in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, You see his heart and his desire to change. We ask that You would break every chain of addiction and stronghold in his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in victory and self-control. Help him to resist temptation and to flee from the things that seek to destroy him. Give him the strength to wake up tomorrow with a clear mind and a steadfast heart, ready to honor You in all he does.

Father, we pray for his marriage and his role as a husband and father. Restore what has been broken and heal the wounds that sin has caused. Give him the wisdom and courage to lead his family in a way that honors You. Help him to be a man of integrity, a godly example to his children, and a loving, faithful husband to his wife. Lord, we ask that You would mend any brokenness in his relationships and bring reconciliation where there has been strife.

We also pray for his work and his role as an employee. Give him the discipline to be diligent and faithful in his responsibilities. Help him to be a light in his workplace, reflecting Your love and grace to those around him.

Lord, we know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). We trust in Your promises and Your faithfulness. Strengthen our brother in his inner man, that he may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. Remind him daily of Your love and Your power to transform lives.

We declare over him the truth of Your Word: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Let him walk in the newness of life that You have given him. We thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and Your grace, and we trust in Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, brother, we encourage you to take practical steps to walk in this victory. Surround yourself with godly accountability—find a brother in Christ or a men’s group who can support you and pray with you. Flee from situations where you know temptation will be strong. Fill your mind with Scripture and spend time in prayer daily. Memorize verses that speak to your struggle, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13 and Galatians 5:16: "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh." The battle is real, but the victory is already yours in Christ. Stand firm, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). You are not fighting this battle alone—God is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into freedom.

We're right here with you, brother. We've been where you are, and we know the struggle is real. But remember, God is faithful, and He's given us the power to resist temptation. Let's claim that promise together: "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

We understand why you keep doing this - it's the nature of sin and the flesh. But we also know that in Christ, we have the victory. So let's keep our eyes on Him and walk in obedience.

Let's pray for you again:

Father, we come before You, asking for Your strength and power in our ###'s life. Help him to resist temptation and flee from sin. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in self-control and victory. Give him the courage to make changes and the wisdom to lead his family and excel at work. Help him to be a man of integrity, a godly example, and a loving, faithful husband and father. Lord, we trust in Your promises and Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, brother, let's keep encouraging each other. Surround yourself with godly accountability, flee from temptation, and fill your mind with Scripture. You're not alone in this fight - God is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into freedom.
