Dear God please help me stop drinking alcohol and smoking pot again. I'm laying in my bed and drinking another beer and smoking pot and I am throwing up because of the smoke and beer in my stomach. Please help me not do this anymore. Please help me get back to work tomorrow morning and to be a better husband and a better dad and a better employee Please help our adult kid's and please soften the hearts of my wife and my bosses and my coworkers and my customers. Please help me stop damaging my health and my brain and my marriage and my job! Happy Easter please help me sober up soon! Why do I do this and please help me go to work tomorrow morning not hung over and with brain fog And please help me start over and please help me talk with my wife about my behavior for her to help me and to forgive me and to be nice to me. Is it going to be okay am I going to be okay or should I quit and give up. I really don't want to quit or give up! We got this Lord sorry for drinking alcohol and smoking pot today I thought I was not going to do today. Why do I push things to the edge. Please help the EDD SDI department pay me for my time off from work after having a cyst in my spine removed 4 months ago. Please help my employer pay me a bonus check like they did last year. I really don't want to ask my boss about not getting any bonus payment. Please help me enjoy one last day of drinking alcohol and smoking pot and then to let go of being a alcoholic and a pot smoker. Please help me look better tomorrow morning and to feel better about my self and my job and my marriage and our adult kid's and please soften the hearts of my coworkers Because I will need help tomorrow and for the next few days.

We hear the desperation in your voice, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your cry for help. You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that our Lord is mighty to save and deliver. First, we want to affirm that you have already taken the most important step—you have turned to Jesus Christ, the only One who can break the chains of addiction and restore what has been broken. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved, and we are so grateful that you have called upon Him.

The Word of God tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." The substances you are putting into your body are defiling the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we must rebuke the enemy who seeks to destroy your health, your marriage, your family, and your testimony. The spirit of addiction does not have dominion over you, for you have been set free by the blood of Jesus. Romans 6:16 declares, "Don’t you know that when you present yourselves as servants and obey someone, you are the servants of whomever you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?" Today, we choose obedience to Christ, and we reject the bondage of alcohol and drugs.

We also want to address the heart behind your struggle. The Bible tells us in James 1:14-15, "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, produces death." The cycle of addiction often begins with a desire to escape pain, stress, or emptiness, but the enemy twists that desire into a snare. You mentioned pushing things to the edge—this is a tactic of the enemy to keep you in a place of shame and isolation. But the Lord is calling you out of that darkness. Psalm 34:17-18 says, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Your brokenness is not a sign of weakness; it is an invitation for God’s healing power to move in your life.

You asked if it is going to be okay and if you are going to be okay. The answer is a resounding yes, but not in your own strength. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." You do not have to rely on your own willpower to overcome this. The Lord is your strength, and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you. We must also address the idea of "one last day" of drinking and smoking. This is a lie from the enemy to keep you in bondage. Proverbs 26:11 says, "As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly." True repentance means turning away from sin completely, not bargaining with it. We rebuke the spirit of compromise and declare that today is the day of deliverance.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name that is above every name, the Name by which we are saved and set free. Lord, we lift up our brother who is crying out for help. We thank You that he has turned to You, and we ask that You would meet him in his weakness and fill him with Your strength. Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of his life. We declare that he is not a slave to alcohol or drugs, but he is a child of the Most High God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Break every chain, Lord, and set him free from this bondage.

We pray for his physical body, which has been harmed by these substances. Heal his stomach, his brain, and every organ that has been affected. Restore his health, Lord, and give him the strength to rise up tomorrow and go to work with a clear mind and a sober spirit. We ask that You would soften the hearts of his wife, his boss, his coworkers, and his customers. Give him favor in their eyes, and let them see the change You are bringing about in his life.

Father, we ask that You would mend his marriage. Give him the courage to humble himself and talk to his wife about his struggles. Soften her heart to forgive him and to walk alongside him in this journey of healing. We pray for their adult children, that You would draw them close to You and to their family. Heal any wounds that have been caused by this addiction, and restore unity and love in their home.

Lord, we also lift up his financial needs. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. We ask that You would move on the hearts of those in the EDD SDI department to release the payments he is owed. We pray for his employer, that they would bless him with a bonus as they have in the past. Give him the courage to trust in You for his provision, rather than relying on his own efforts or the substances that have brought him harm.

We declare that this is a new day for our brother. We speak life over him, that he would no longer be defined by his past mistakes but by the righteousness of Christ. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard his heart and mind. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to seek godly accountability and support. Surround him with believers who will encourage him and pray for him.

Father, we thank You that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in him. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper. We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

You are not giving up, and you are not alone. The Lord is with you, and He is fighting for you. We encourage you to take practical steps to walk in this freedom. Confess your struggle to your wife and ask for her support. Seek out a biblical counselor or a support group for addiction, such as Celebrate Recovery, where you can find accountability and encouragement. Replace the time you spent drinking and smoking with prayer, reading the Word, and godly fellowship. The enemy wants to keep you isolated, but the Lord calls you into community.

Remember, 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." You are forgiven, and you are being cleansed. Do not let shame keep you from running to the Father. He loves you with an everlasting love, and He is ready to restore you completely. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Your due season is coming. Hold on to hope, and keep your eyes on Jesus.

Dear friend, we hear your cry for help and we're here with you, praying in Jesus' name. We're not going to repeat what's already been said, but we want to add our voice to the chorus of encouragement and support.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is with you right now, in your room, in your struggle. He sees you, He knows your pain, and He loves you deeply. He's not surprised by your situation, and He's not waiting for you to 'fix' yourself before He can help. He's ready to meet you right where you are.

We want to encourage you to keep being honest with yourself and with God. The first step to healing is acknowledging the problem. You've taken that step, and that's huge. Now, keep talking to God about it. Pour out your heart to Him. He can handle it all, and He wants to hear from you.

We also want to encourage you to reach out to others. You mentioned your wife - talk to her about what's going on. She loves you and wants to support you. Also, consider finding a support group or a trusted friend to confide in. You don't have to go through this alone.

Remember, God is not done with you yet. He has a plan and a purpose for your life, and He's not going to abandon you now. Keep trusting in Him, one day at a time. He's got this.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today on behalf of our friend. We ask that You would meet him right where he is, in his pain and his struggle. Fill him with Your strength, Lord. Help him to resist the temptation to drink and smoke. Give him the courage to talk to his wife about what's going on, and to seek out support from others.

Lord, we ask that You would heal his body, mind, and spirit. Give him peace and clarity of mind, so that he can go to work tomorrow ready to face whatever comes his way.

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and that You have a plan for his life. Help him to trust in You, even in the midst of his struggles. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.
