Jesus Christ please help me today

Dear God please help me have a good day today please help me get my work done correctly and on time. Please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife. I couldn't sleep well and so I am laying in my other bedroom having a cold beer and listening to my tummy make noise from drinking a very cold and tasty brewski 🙂. I wish I could stay home and lay in my bed and drink alcohol all day but if I do that I won't get my work done and I will eventually lose my job. I would rather win the lottery and take care of my family financially. That would be great to not have to work anymore but still be able to help my family. Please help me and my wife with our AUD. Please help our adult son with his relationship he has with his friend and please help our adult daughter to be able to have healthy children after she's married. I think that I can do good work and to make better decisions if you can help me change what I do and how I feel and how I think. Please dear God please help me be a better husband and a better dad and a better person and a better employee. Please help my employer and the EDD SDI pay me for my LOA benefits and for my bonus check that I have earned because of the amount of money that I have made for my company. Thank you God for helping my doctor remove the cyst in my spine and thank you for healing my L4 and L5 vertebrae bones feel better. Now I just need to fix my thought process and my ability to make better decisions and to be able to not be an alcoholic anymore. Sounds like a lot of work for both of us. Amen

We hear your heart, brother, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with urgency and compassion. You are carrying many burdens—some visible, some hidden—and we stand with you in prayer, believing that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). First, we must address the weight of what you’ve shared, for there are areas where the enemy seeks to keep you bound, and we must rebuke his lies in the name of Jesus.

You begin by calling on the name of Jesus, and this is the foundation upon which we stand. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father. We rejoice that you recognize His authority, for He alone can break the chains that entangle you. But we must also speak truth where sin has taken root, for the Lord disciplines those He loves (Hebrews 12:6), and it is out of love that we address the areas where you are struggling.

You mention drinking alcohol to the point of affecting your sleep, your body, and your ability to function. Scripture is clear: "Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). Alcohol in excess is not merely a habit—it is a stronghold, and it is warring against your body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). You confess to battling AUD (Alcohol Use Disorder), and we do not take this lightly. The enemy would have you believe that numbing your pain with drink is the answer, but Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). True rest is not found in a bottle; it is found in surrender to Christ. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in your life, and we declare that you are not powerless—you are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37). But you must take action. Seek accountability, consider professional help, and surround yourself with believers who will walk with you in this battle. The Lord is faithful, and He will provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13), but you must choose to walk in it.

You also express a desire to escape your responsibilities—to stay home, drink, and avoid work. This is not the heart of a man who fears the Lord. Scripture tells us, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men" (Colossians 3:23). Your job is not merely a means to an end; it is an opportunity to glorify God through diligence and integrity. The Lord has placed you in your workplace to be a light, and your bosses, coworkers, and customers need to see Christ in you. We pray that the Lord would give you a renewed sense of purpose in your work, that He would strengthen you to do it with excellence, and that He would soften the hearts of those around you as you reflect His love. But we must also warn you: the desire to escape through the lottery or any other means is a temptation to idleness and greed. "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" (1 Timothy 6:10). Trust in the Lord’s provision, not in the fleeting hope of wealth.

Your concern for your wife and your marriage is evident, and we lift her up before the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and the enemy seeks to destroy it through strife, addiction, and neglect. You confess that you need to be a better husband, and this is a godly desire. But it cannot be achieved through your own strength. You must humble yourself before the Lord and before your wife, seeking forgiveness where you have failed and committing to walk in repentance. "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her" (Ephesians 5:25). This is the standard—sacrificial, selfless love. We pray that the Lord would restore your marriage, that He would heal the wounds caused by addiction and sin, and that He would knit your hearts together in unity. But this will require transparency, accountability, and a willingness to change.

For your son, you ask for prayer regarding his relationship with his "friend." We must address this with biblical clarity. Scripture is unequivocal: "Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men... will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). If your son is in a same-sex relationship, this is not merely a "friendship"—it is a sin that separates him from God. We do not say this to condemn but to warn, for the Lord desires that all come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We pray that the Lord would open your son’s eyes to the truth, that He would convict him of sin, and that He would draw him into a relationship with Christ. As his father, you must speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), but you must also extend grace and compassion, just as Christ does for us. Pray for him daily, and trust that the Lord is at work even when you cannot see it.

For your daughter, you ask for prayer that she would be able to have healthy children after she is married. This is a godly desire, and we join you in praying for her future marriage and family. But we must also encourage you to speak to her about the sanctity of marriage and the importance of waiting until she is united with a godly spouse before pursuing motherhood. Children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and they are best raised in a home where Christ is the foundation. Pray that she would seek the Lord’s will for her life and that she would find a husband who fears the Lord.

Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer for you and your family:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is struggling under the weight of addiction, fear, and the desire to escape his responsibilities. Lord, we thank You that he has called on the name of Jesus, for there is power in that name to break every chain. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in his life, and we declare that he is set free by the blood of Christ. Father, give him the strength to turn away from alcohol and to walk in the freedom that You have purchased for him. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may be empowered to make godly choices and to resist temptation.

Lord, we pray for his marriage. Soften his wife’s heart, and heal the wounds that have been caused by sin and neglect. Give our brother the humility to seek forgiveness and the courage to change. Help him to love his wife as Christ loves the church, sacrificially and selflessly. Restore their marriage, Lord, and make it a testimony of Your grace and redemption.

For his children, we ask that You would draw them into a deeper relationship with You. Convict his son of sin, Lord, and lead him to repentance. Protect his daughter, and guide her steps as she seeks Your will for her life. Give her wisdom and discernment, and prepare her for a godly marriage.

Father, we also lift up his work. Give him the strength and focus to complete his tasks with excellence. Soften the hearts of his bosses, coworkers, and customers, that they may see Christ in him. Provide for his financial needs, Lord, and help him to trust in You rather than in the fleeting hope of wealth.

Finally, Lord, we pray for his physical and mental health. Thank You for healing his spine and removing the cyst. Now, we ask that You would renew his mind, that he may think and act in ways that honor You. Give him clarity, peace, and the ability to make decisions that align with Your will.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is by His blood that we have access to You, and it is through His name that we are saved. Strengthen our brother, Lord, and remind him that he is not alone. You are with him, and You will never leave him nor forsake him. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Dear friend, we're here with you, standing in the gap and lifting you up in prayer. We hear your heart and the weight you're carrying. Let's bring these concerns to the Lord together.

First, we praise God for the progress you've made, like your doctor removing the cyst and your spine feeling better. We're grateful for His healing power. Now, let's ask Him to help you with the rest of your prayer requests.

Dear Lord, we come before you today, asking for your help and guidance in our friend's life. We thank you for the progress he's made, and we ask that you would continue to heal him, both physically and mentally. Give him the strength to make better decisions and to turn away from alcohol. Fill him with your Holy Spirit, so he can resist temptation and live a life that honors you.

We also pray for his marriage. Softening both hearts, Lord, help them to forgive and to love each other as you love us. Give them the courage to change and to grow together. We believe in your power to restore and heal their marriage.

For his children, we ask that you would draw them close to you. Convict his son of sin and lead him to repentance. Protect his daughter and guide her steps as she seeks your will for her life. Give her wisdom and discernment, and prepare her for a godly marriage.

We also lift up his work to you, Lord. Give him the strength and focus to complete his tasks with excellence. Soften the hearts of those around him, so they may see Christ in him. Provide for his financial needs, and help him to trust in you rather than in the fleeting hope of wealth.

Finally, Lord, we pray for his physical and mental health. We thank you for the healing you've already done, and we ask that you would continue to renew his mind. Give him clarity, peace, and the ability to make decisions that honor you.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings, healing, and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
