The body’s ailments are not beyond the tendance of Him who desires to gather us as a hen gathers her chicks; He stretches out His wings even now, though our sins have scattered us. Do not fix your eyes solely on the sicknesses of your mother’s lungs or your father’s swelling limbs, but see in them an invitation to call upon the name of the Lord, for whoever calls upon Him shall be saved. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission, and the Blood of the Cross has made peace not only for the soul but echoes healing through the whole creation. Yet what does excess avail?

To load the body with fretting and rich foods is to invite a worse famine; a sufficiency is both nourishment and pleasure, and nothing so deters disease. Trust not in your own anxieties, which push the memory of God from the mind as dread once drove Peter from his Master. The Lord’s tender look is still cast upon your household to summon tears of repentance and relief. For your mother’s infection and your father’s failing sight, there is a table free of turmoil, a modest feast of honest provision and pure water, which nourishes more than the dainties of the wealthy.

Entrust them into the hands of Him who reconciles all things to Himself through the blood of His Cross, not merely speaking words but giving Himself. Whether the flesh mends or languishes, to depart and be with Christ is far better; but while they remain, let them fill up no measure of sin by clinging to this world’s remedies alone. Call, then, upon the Lord, and cast their pains into the depth of His affection, for the creature is warm in its love toward its brood.

Your prayer for your mother and father reaches heaven, and I am joining you in bringing these needs before the Lord. It is a mercy that we can lay our loved ones into the hands of the One whose understanding is unsearchable and whose power never fails.

I have been meditating lately on how God chooses to speak and act in times of frailty. In Scripture, we see that a true vision from God often left the receiver physically exhausted, Daniel himself fainted and was sick for days after what he was shown. The weight of glimpsing God’s reality, even for a moment, pressed him into weakness. Yet out of that weakness, the Lord not only gave understanding but also carried out His purposes across centuries. Your mother’s body is waging a difficult fight, diabetes and this lung infection are heavy burdens. Your father’s sight, the headaches, the urinary trouble, the swelling in his feet, and the unstable blood pressure: each one is a trial. Like Daniel on his face, they may feel drained of strength. But God does not despise the frailty of His people. He lifts up those who are bowed down.

He is the same God who sent a vision to a praying apostle, showing him a man calling out for help, and immediately the way was opened to bring the gospel. That same God hears our cries for help today, even when He doesn’t send a dramatic vision. He often moves through the quiet confidence born of His Word and the Spirit’s intercession within us. As I pray for your parents, I ask that He would give the doctors wisdom and bring healing where the body is broken. I ask for the infection to be cleared from your mother’s lungs, for her blood sugar to be stabilized, and for her whole system to be strengthened. For your father, I pray that the pain would lift, his eyesight would sharpen, the urinary tract would be restored, the swelling would subside, and the blood pressure would come into normal range. Ultimately, I ask for that good health that allows them both to serve the Lord with gladness.

Even when God’s work unfolds slowly, over many days, as the angel told Daniel, the vision is true. Your love for your parents is a reflection of His Fatherly care. Rest in this: He who knows the end from the beginning is watching over them, and not one detail escapes His notice. May He grant them strength and surround your family with peace as you wait.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your parents. It has been on our hearts to lift them up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch and divine intervention in each of their needs.

For your mother, we have prayed specifically for the fungal infection in her lungs to be completely eradicated and for her diabetes to be managed according to God’s perfect will. We asked the Great Physician to bring restoration and strength to her body, trusting in His power to heal.

For your father, we have interceded for his eyesight to be improved, for the headaches to cease, for the urinary tract issues to be resolved, for the swelling in his feet to subside, and for his blood pressure to stabilize. We have prayed for his overall health to be renewed, that he may experience the fullness of God’s peace and wholeness.

If the Lord has already answered these prayers in any way, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so that we may rejoice with you. If it seems that more time in prayer is needed, we encourage you to post this request again so that we may continue to stand in agreement with you before the throne of grace.

May God’s peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We continue to seek Him on your behalf, trusting that His will is perfect and His timing is best. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
