Is taking advantage of someone a sin?

Some sins are described in the Bible__homosexuality, idolatry,etc.But some things SEEM wrong, but may not be mentioned specifically.Because I had this problem with some, and have heard others have it. Taking advantage of someone, and with intent to do so.We're to help others. I understand that. But I'm not talking about legitimate needs.I'm talking about someone who makes a lifestyle out of making their lives easier by finding others to do everything for them.Like, among many unsaved people I notice a tendency that, once they get to know someone a little,instead of just seeing the person as someone to be friendly with,right away the thought comes to mind,"this person can do this and that for me.they can be useful to me."Now, is it a sin to look to use someone to your advantage?I would think to a certain extent it is, because it involves selfishness,when you have a legitimate reason you can't do it at a certain time, and they don't work with you, they "push it",and don't take no for an answer.They want to "jump the line",if it's job related and you have other appointments first, they "don't take no for an answer"and try to "push themselves in."Also selfishness because you could do 5 things for them, and you need one thing one day, and they give every excuse why they don't want to{in other words, "one-sided"} Also, they sometimes "turn on you" if you can't comply.What I'm saying, everyone thinks the person turning down the favor is the selfish one,but I think the person ASKING FOR something can be selfish.Also, we're supposed to help, but if someone asks us for something against our principals, like if an unsaved husband asks a Christian neighbor,"My wife is away. Go tell my mistress I'm alone in the house"...come on.SOOO...is intentionally taking advantage of someone a sin, if it's done for the purposes of manipulation?I somehow think so.

I got in my spirit that we should be a HONEY to all we meet. Honey is sweet, healing and makes skin beautiful. So should we have this kind of influence on others.
If we are not this to them, better cut off that relationship.
If even repenting of sins before the Lord for our sins doesnt work, then it is the only way.
Communicating with someone through mind, trying to convince them with our human wisdom is really waisting of time.

I was only making a point that we are all users of Jesus and we as Christians all take advantage to some degree of Jesus. We are all in this world to do our part for each other, to do our part that God has ordained for us to do. Some understand that more than others. Jesus wants us to use Him, He wants us to depend on Him, not just for salvation but rather for everything.

I do understand where you are coming from Steven. Do you understand where I'm coming from?

Do you love Jesus? Than do what Jesus instructs us to do in His Word! If someone tries to take advantage of you, then yes use your best judgment of how to respond to them but do it out of love and in the Name Jesus.

Do you love that Jesus suffered for you? Then are we not all to suffer for Him?

Do you love Jesus? Do you accept Jesus? Is accepting and doing Jesus Words a form of proof for ourselves as well as others that we accept Jesus?

We're all in this world to help each other, but how?You didn't answer MY question.So if someone asks you to get illegal drugs for them, am I supposed to do that under the the guise of "helping "them?You show me where in the Bible Jesus said to do something like that.

I thought you said you read the Bible at least a couple of times? You don't remember reading that as far as Christians go we are all a part of the Body of Christ and that we have different abilities, different wisdom, different knowledge and different parts of that Body? Just because all of mankind isn't saved does not mean that their knowledge and their wisdom didn't come from God to do things in this world to help each other as a whole. Some people are prideful of their abilities and their accomplishments and yet someone, God in fact, gave them their wisdom to do those things so they should thank God. Doesn't everyone need an electrician, a plumber, a roofer, a mechanic, or at least the wisdom to do those things? Just because you provide others transportation doesn't mean that I don't need you, as you are a part of society and whether or not I have personally used your services, I have benefited from your services. God knows how we all fit in His Plan. You may have personally saved my life by keeping someone from killing me that wasn't a good driver even if it was through a chain reaction of several different people. You and I have both personally benefited from taking advantage of each other in some way my friend

We could actually live in a society where there is no money

I am one of those rare human beings that understands how God sees everyone at the same time, hears everyone at the same time and can help everyone at the same time. We are not all that different from each other. We all desire the same exact things. We just don't do everything at the same time but we do flock together like the birds and like the fish to eat, to work, to rest, to sleep, to be entertained etc, etc, etc. We all need each other Steven.

If I let someone take advantage of me, yet I prayed for them, they wound up getting saved which somehow led to your salvation then wouldn't you have been a part of the person who took advantage of me?

I have already told you before in another previous post that I would not give someone a ride to obtain illegal drugs. I can't imagine anyone asking me to do that, if they did then wouldn't they risk having the police arrest them afterwards?

I'm sorry Steven but I see a great distance farther away from some of the things you post when I post a reply that Linda said it pretty neat, the other side of the same exact coin buddy. God sees farther than any of us because when we ask for help, He not only helps us but He knows when and who He is going to use, to take advantage of to help us

This is so true. But it is like putting money in a bag with holes in it. Because if God tells you not to do it, you are walking in rebellion to God if you do it for whatever reasons. God will not bless our rebellion.

Steven, pray the psalm 1 over yourself every day, and read proverbs, there is much wisdom how to proceed in life. I heard one preacher say IF I AM NOT SURE SHOULD I DO SOMETHING OR NOT, I RATHER DONT DO IT. Also, ask God for Wisdom (James 1). He will give it to you. Also pray for the fullfilling of the Holy spirit and leading of the Holy spirit. Also every morning plie the blood of Jesus over yourself. I believe wrong people will stop intruding your life. But you must also do your part. Faith without works is dead. Is God tells you not to socialize with one person, then dont do it. If you feel confusion or anger every time with someone, dont communicate with that person. By doing that you are honoring this person, yourself and God. Gods will is best.
There is something called ungodly soulties, when you have problems with someone, you feel confusion, you feel drained or anything like that. Some brother or sister may be ok, but it is not given to you to be close to you. Everyone of us has a different calling and knowledge of God. That goes also for unsaved people.

There's a difference between legitimate needs {not even job related,and I've done that plenty, even today.}I've helped plenty of people,but I explained the type I meant., who are just taking advantage for their own selfish reasons,And it also depends how much time you have. Now, I can quote from the Bible too.""A wise man TURNS AWAY anger"" Yet you criticize me ,knowing full well the long debate that will occur.So can you sayYOU walk the perfect walk?And you quote what Linda said, but she agreed that someone taking advantage for their own personal selfish motives is wrong.Just because you disagree with everthing I say, doesn't mean everyone else does.

I can add that we can avoid strife with someone if we are not addressing him directly but say like, i would do this and that because i am led by the spirit of God, or because of ....., or i think it will be wise to do that....
Pushing someone to do this or that is not good, we should watch ourselves not to put pressure on anyone because this is control and manipulation and it produces witchcraft. The moment you say YOU are doing this or that, the strife can begin. The accuser is on the scene. Dont make it to personal.
Strife comes because someone is pushing to hard, or criticizing the other person directly. Or trempling over someones personal boundaries. (Causes disrispect, Love is also respect). We should not destroy the character(the house that God has build up in someone. But rather build them up, comfort them, being patient in teaching. The word sais, there are many people who teach, i say, everybody wants to teach, but, examining our own motives is very recommandable. Why do i want to convice some person to do this or that? To earn glory for myself or to give glory to God?
We shall recognize the sons and daughters of God by their love, and their fruits...when you leave someones presence (after teaching them the right thing to do), do you feel noble and good, and that your loving father will say to you, Well done you good and faithfull servant, or are you mad, angry ("this stupid person doesnt get what i am talking about, he is so stupide and stubborn¨" - if you think like that, you are on the way to your own destruction, why? Because you are in pride. God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble. After you finish a conversation with someone, do you feel that you were humble, loving, patient? If not, you were in pride. Examine yourself are you in faith, the word sais. And i add, examine yourself, are you in love? Strife is the fruit of something else, not LOVE.
We dont need to understand everything with our own mind, but ask the Holy spirit, Lord, should i communicate with this person or not? And then obey it. If we want to understand everything with our own mind, we are exalting ourselves above God. Because if we could do everything in this world only with our mind, the sacrifice of Jesus would not be needed. We need the Holy spirit, so guys stop arguing trying to understand everything what is going on in the world, everything that people do to you, etc...You will not beat the enemy with your MIND, but with the spirit and with the power of God. SURRENDER yourselves to God, soak in HIs presence. He is the one who does all things, not us. And we dont need to understand everything and everyone, and convince everyone that we are right. Our weappon is mighty through God, not through our mind.
I must say that i think it is not LOVE when you ask someone how many times he has red the Bible. Pharisees knew Bible very well. This is not the proof that someone is a believer and that he is on the right path. Many things could show if someone is a believer. Does he have a regular job, is he dilligent, faithful, has he self control, peace, power of the Holy spirit, is he critical or thankful and loving etc etc.. THE WORD COMBINED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you read the word and if you are obedient to the Holy spirit you will have fruits of the blessings of God and fruits of the spirit. Only the word is not enough, i am sorry....(Not to mention that some people struggle with bad inheritence and evil raising, curses etc....you cannot conquer these things with your mind and knowing verses, YOU NEED A REVELATION AND POWER to be delivered.
