Your request has been heard and your pain is understood. To live for months with a danger in your own home that could take your life, to sense that someone may have entered your apartment, and then to be confronted with angry accusations about something you did not do, is a heavy burden. It is right to thank God that He protected you and brought you out. The Scripture you quoted is true. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps watch over His people, and He knows how to preserve them.
Only God truly knows what is in the heart and what the intentions of others have been. You have been careful to say you do not know for sure, and that is wise. When fear and suspicion grow, it is easy for the heart to become hard or bitter. There was a woman in Scripture who in her grief said to call her bitter rather than pleasant, because she felt the Lord had dealt harshly with her. God did not leave her there. He was still doing a perfect work in her life to make her open and filled with His love, able to bear fruit again. Ask the Lord to do that same perfect work in you, that you would not be shaped by fear or resentment, but be kept soft before Him and filled with His love, faith and hope.
Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. His words are truth and they endure forever. Truth is not only an idea to be argued about. The truth that lives in us is meant to lead us to godliness and to give us hope of eternal life through Him. The Spirit of truth is known by His witness to Jesus and by the fruit He bears, which is love. There are many voices in this world that can speak much that sounds true and even use words of love, yet lead away from God. That is why we are taught to seek wisdom as one would seek hidden treasure, to cry out for understanding, to fear the Lord and depart from evil, and to grow in the knowledge of Him. Through that knowledge He has already given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, and has given us great and precious promises. His plan for your life is far superior to any plan you could make for yourself, even when the path has involved affliction. This whole creation groans as it waits for redemption, and you can trust Him to carry you through this present distress toward that hope.
It is right to pray that the truth be made clear. God will bring to light what needs to be brought to light in His time and in His way. You do not need to carry the weight of proving everything yourself. Commit your cause to Him who judges righteously. At the same time, it is wise to take practical steps for your safety. Keep a clear record of what has happened, keep a safe distance from those who have accused you, and if you believe your life has been threatened, seek the help of trustworthy authorities and godly counsel near you.
I join you in prayer for the residents of that house and for the landlord who avoids you. I pray that the Holy Spirit would touch them, soften hardness, and take away a heart of stone and give a heart of flesh that can hear His call. May He convict where there has been lying or evading responsibility, and bring them to repentance and to submission to Him. May He also protect you from further harm and from false accusation, and guard your own heart in love toward others even as you desire justice and honesty.
May the Lord keep you, strengthen you to walk by faith in Jesus Christ, multiply His grace and peace in your life as you come to know Him more, and make your life a witness of His truth and love. May you walk in truth, live in hope of eternal life through Jesus, and know His deliverance day by day. In Jesus name, amen.
