I asked a lot of prayers because of a life-threatening electrical problem in my rented apartment. Thank God, I survived and moved out. But the story hasn't seemed to end there.
While I was living in the apartment, I noticed that someone might have entered it several times, as evidenced by the position of the lock and some other signs. After many months and much unclear communication, it seems possible that they intentionally tried to kill me. I don't know for sure. Only God knows what is in their hearts and what their intentions are, but it is written in Psalms 34:21–23: Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. Last week, a woman I had never spoken to before came up to me angrily and shouted lies and accusations at me. She said that I had entered the house where she and the ex-landlord live. She heard this from someone else and tried to accuse me and destroy me. Thank God the Lord protected me again. Please pray for the residents of the house so that they can see the truth, because I never entered their apartment. However, it is highly likely that someone entered the apartment while I was living in that life-threatening flat. If this woman hired technicians to damage the heating system and disconnect consumers from the RCD, causing electric shocks during showers, then I pray that this is exposed. However this happened, God will show the truth. The landlord is avoiding me and is not willing to speak to me. NO REMORSE! Please pray that the Holy Spirit touches him so that he stops lying and takes responsibility!

These people have not apologised to me or compensated me after nearly three months of moving out. Please pray. May God break their hardness. May they have a heart of flesh. May they hear His call. May they submit to Him.

We have heard your heavy burden and we join with you in seeking the truth and the protection that only comes from the Lord Jesus. We thank God with you that He preserved your life through that dangerous electrical failure in your rented apartment and that He protected you again when you were falsely accused by this woman. It is right to bring all of this into the light before Him, for He sees what is done in secret and He alone knows the intentions of every heart.

We understand the fear and confusion you feel, wondering if someone entered your apartment, if the wiring was intentionally tampered with to cause those shocks in the shower, and if this aggressive woman may have hired others to harm you. We cannot know with certainty what others have planned, but God does, and we rest in His promise that no weapon formed against His children will finally succeed.

The Lord says in Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all. And again in Luke 12:2 But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. We cling to this with you, that whatever was done in darkness, whether through negligence or through evil intent, will be exposed in God's perfect timing. We also remember Romans 12:19 Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. It is not for us to take revenge or to be consumed with suspicion, but to entrust justice to Him while also acting wisely.

We also rejoice that you have named Jesus, the Spirit of Truth who shows us the truth, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to remain abiding in Him, trusting not only for physical deliverance but for the salvation of your soul and for peace that surpasses understanding.

We lift you and this whole situation before the throne together.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of our dear one who has endured such affliction and fear. Lord, You saw every moment in that apartment, every faulty wire, every shock, every time the lock was moved, and You alone know whether it was carelessness, greed, or malice. We ask You to reveal the truth and to expose any lie or hidden wrongdoing. Let Your Holy Spirit convict the landlord who is avoiding responsibility and lying, and touch the heart of this woman who has shouted false accusations. As You promised in Ezekiel 36:26, give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them, take away the stony heart out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, that they may hear Your call, submit to You, show remorse, and take responsibility for what has been done. We pray for all the residents of that house, that their eyes would be opened to the truth that our loved one never entered their home, and that no false testimony would stand.

Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over our loved one. Cover them under Your wings as Psalm 91:1 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Guard them from all harm and from the spirit of fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as in 2 Timothy 1:7. Grant them Your peace that passes all understanding as in Philippians 4:7 to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Break the hardness in those who have not apologized or made restitution, and move them to do what is just and right. And Father, help our loved one to forgive as You have forgiven us, releasing bitterness while still seeking truth and justice in a godly way.

We encourage you, beloved, to continue to walk in wisdom as well as prayer. While we trust God to be your ultimate protector and revealer of truth, He also calls us to act prudently. Keep a careful record of all that happened, with dates, photos, and communications, and seek godly counsel and, if necessary, the help of proper authorities or qualified electricians and legal advisors to establish the facts about the electrical danger and any unlawful entry. Do not face accusations or confrontations alone, and do not return to a place where you feel unsafe. Share your concerns with trusted believers and with those in authority who can help ensure your safety. The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one as in 2 Thessalonians 3:3, but He often uses practical means to do so.

We also gently urge you not to let fear or suspicion take root in your heart beyond what is known. God will show the truth, and until He does, rest in His sovereignty. Continue to pray for your former landlord and for this woman, not only that they would be exposed if they have done wrong, but that they would be saved and transformed. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you as in Matthew 5:44, for this reflects the heart of Christ.

We stand with you, asking God to bring full truth to light, to soften hard hearts, to provide justice and restitution where it is due, and to fill you with courage, peace, and assurance that the Lord delivers the righteous out of all afflictions. May you dwell daily in His presence, knowing that He keeps all your bones and that no affliction can separate you from His love in Jesus Christ.

We were grateful to hear you got out of that apartment safely. Enduring months of electrical shocks in your own home and then being shouted at and accused by someone you don't even know would leave anyone feeling shaken and on guard. It makes sense you are still carrying a lot of fear and many unanswered questions.

We hear how much you want truth to come to light and for the landlord to own what happened, especially since there has been no apology or compensation. While only God knows every heart and intention, you don't have to chase down every possibility alone to find peace. Staying safe and steady right now matters most.

One gentle next step that may help is to put some distance and structure around these contacts. If the landlord avoids conversation, try keeping any future communication in writing and keep copies, and consider talking once with a trusted local pastor and a local tenant advice service about what documentation you already have from the electrical issue and what wise options you have. If that woman approaches you again, it is okay to not engage alone and to step away.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. Guard them in body and mind, quiet the fear that lingers after danger, and guide them with wisdom for each conversation. Touch the hearts of those involved with honesty and soften what is hard, and let truth be seen clearly. Lead our friend day by day in Your peace. Amen.

We have heard your sorrowful account and we carry it with you to the throne of grace, where our best pleas lie within the compass of God's character and God's promises.

You have passed through great extremity, through electric shocks in the place that should have been a shelter, and through fear that your dwelling was entered and your life endangered. And now a fresh trial has come upon you, in loud accusations from one you had never spoken with, and in the silence of one who will not speak at all. When we are up and on our feet we may feel strong, but when we begin to stumble through great trouble, out comes the enemy to roar and to shoot his fiery darts, saying, man's extremity shall be my opportunity, and whispering that God's ear is shut. O poor troubled one, let that arrow be broken in pieces. The Lord has not forgotten you. He who kept you in that life threatening flat and delivered you out, He keeps all the bones of His people, and not one of them is broken without His knowledge and leave.

You pray as Jacob prayed, and we pray it with you, Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of those I fear, lest they come and smite me. There were both nature and grace, belief and unbelief, fear and faith battling together in Jacob's soul, and so it is with you. You do well to lay hold upon the promise most suitable to your case, for He has said, I will surely do you good. You say with Jacob, I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have showed unto Your servant, and yet those mercies have followed you, for with fear and trembling you crossed over and you are preserved to this day. That same God who made Esau fall upon Jacob's neck and kiss him is able to turn the hearts of men and to make the truth known.

Only God knows what is in the heart and what the intentions were in that house. We will not pretend to see what is hidden, for vengeance and judgment belong to the Lord, and His thoughts are far above ours, as high as the heavens are above the earth. What we ask is that the Truth of God, which is a fire and a hammer, may do its work. If wrong was done in secret, if the heating was tampered with and the protection of the RCD was removed, we pray that it be brought to light, not for our bitter revenge but for righteousness and for the protection of others. If lies have been spoken, we pray that the God of truth would expose them, for He went up to the accursed tree that justice might be vindicated and mercy might have its way.

We pray also that you may be kept from the second wound which slander inflicts. Who among us can hope to stand immaculate when liars are so rife and charges are so abundant. Remember, the higher the tower the longer will be the shadow, and often the higher a man's character the fouler will be the slander that comes against him. Bear it patiently, and spread your griefs not to the pitiless sea but to the Lord who hears. Go and speak to Him who never shuts His ear.

And we pray for those who have not shown remorse, for the woman who accused you and for the landlord who avoids you and will not take responsibility. We do not ask God to bless what is false or hard hearted, we ask Him to break it. May the Holy Spirit touch them, convict them of lying, and grant them a heart of flesh in place of a heart of stone. May they hear His call and submit to Him. For if there were no pardon, no one would ever fear God at all, but with Him there is forgiveness, that He may be feared with a holy reverence and awe. Oh that they might know that pardon, and that you might know the sweetness of it more and more. There is immediate pardon and immediate salvation for all who trust in Jesus Christ alone, who loved His people and gave Himself for them, that God might be just and yet the Justifier of him that believes in Jesus.

So we commend you to Him who thinks lovingly upon you and considers your needs. May He quiet your fears, guard your dwelling, guide you in all wise and lawful steps for your safety, and give you that sense of sonship by which you can still say, The Lord is my portion, therefore will I hope in Him. May He keep you from dread and fill you with that fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom.

We pray together: O Lord, Thou knowest the truth in secret, Thou seest what was done in that apartment and what is spoken in that house. Deliver Thy servant from fear and from the hand of all who would harm him. Let what was hidden be revealed in Thy time and way. Soften hard hearts, give repentance where there has been wrong, and grant to each soul to turn from sin and trust in Christ for salvation. Keep Thy child in perfect peace, his mind stayed upon Thee, and let Thy name be high over all, till devils fear and fly and Thy people rejoice. Amen.

Your cry has been heard, and I thank God with you that He preserved your life through that dangerous electrical fault and brought you safely out of that apartment. To be kept unharmed when your body was exposed to such shocks in the shower is a great mercy, and it is right to give thanks for it. I also hear how heavy the months since have been, with the signs that someone may have entered your former dwelling, the silence and avoidance of your former landlord, the sudden angry accusations from a woman you did not know, and the lingering fear that harm was intended against you. It is painful to be accused falsely and to feel unsafe, and it is right to bring all of this before the Lord.

You ask whether these people intended to kill you and whether technicians were hired to tamper with the heating and the safety switch. That question touches the heart, which only God sees. Scripture warns us to be careful here. Judgments formed upon suspicion need testing, and the ancient law says that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every matter shall be established, and that we should not receive an accusation lightly. This is rarely spoken of, but it is for our protection. If we speak what is true, we still must not judge beyond our place and subvert good order, and if we speak what is false, even from fear or sincere suspicion, we will give account for every idle word and we harm ourselves. This does not mean your fear is not real, but it means we must leave hidden intentions to God who judges righteously, and we must seek truth in the proper way, with clear evidence and witnesses, rather than settling the matter in our own hearts.

You quoted well that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all. The righteous are often afflicted and even accused for righteousness sake, as many before us were driven out and persecuted. Yet the Lord keeps His own. You need not live as a slave to the fear of death. Death itself has been deprived of its tyranny, and he who fears not death is out of reach of the enemy's power. The one who has learned the hope of the resurrection can live more freely and sweetly even in affliction than those who live in luxury but tremble every day. Therefore pray indeed that you may not come into needless danger, and do not throw yourself upon dangers without cause, but if trial comes, bear it nobly, trusting Christ who died for us when we had outraged Him and who was made sin for us that we might be reconciled to God.

So let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son who knew no sin and was given for us, we thank You for delivering our brother from the electrical danger in that apartment and for keeping his bones and his life. We ask You, Spirit of Truth, to shine light where there is darkness. If there was negligence or deceit or tampering with the electrical system, expose it in Your time and by lawful means, that truth may be known and further harm prevented. If accusations against our brother are false, vindicate him and quiet the lies. We pray for the former landlord and for the woman who accused him and for all residents of that house. Break their hardness of heart. Take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh. Touch them by Your Holy Spirit, bring them to see the truth, to feel remorse where wrong has been done, to take responsibility and to speak honestly. Lead them to repentance and to submission to You, that they may be saved through Jesus Christ alone. Guard our brother from all plots and false accusations and from anxiety and rivalry and fear. Give him patience and long suffering and strength according to the might of Your glory, that he may walk worthily before You, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Grant him peace, wise counsel, and protection, and teach him to love his enemies and to pray for those who have troubled him. We ask this in the mercy and name of Jesus, our deliverer. Amen.

Continue to entrust yourself to God who sees all. Where there is a real risk, act prudently. Keep a record of what happened with the electrical system, keep any reports or photographs, and if you believe a crime or serious negligence occurred, seek help through the proper authorities and through wise counsel rather than through private confrontation. Do not seek to return to that house or to prove your innocence by entering into conflict, but let truth be established by witnesses and by lawful examination. And while you seek what is just, strive to please God continually, forgiving as you have been forgiven, praying for those who have accused you, and resting in the promise that the Lord will keep and deliver His own.
