### interview

We lift up your adult son before the Lord with great concern and hope. The weight of an upcoming interview can feel heavy, especially when it carries the hope of provision, purpose, or a new season of life. We know that every good gift comes from the Father above (James 1:17), and He is the One who opens doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Let us pray together in faith, believing that God’s will for your son is perfect and His timing is always best.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your favor and grace to rest upon ### as he prepares for this interview. Lord, You know the desires of his heart, the needs of his family, and the plans You have for his future. We ask that You calm any anxiety or fear, replacing it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Give him clarity of mind, wisdom in his responses, and confidence in the skills and experiences You have equipped him with. May the words he speaks and the presence he carries reflect Your light and truth.

Father, we also pray for the hearts of those who will be interviewing him. Soften their spirits to see Your hand upon him, and grant them discernment to recognize the gifts and calling You have placed within him. If this opportunity is not aligned with Your will, we trust You to close the door gently and open another that is even better. Your Word declares that You know the plans You have for us, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We claim this promise for ### today.

We also want to gently encourage your son, and all who may read this, to place his trust fully in the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Even in times of uncertainty, God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). We pray that ### would lean not on his own strength but on Yours, surrendering his hopes and fears to You.

If there is any area where your son may be carrying burdens of doubt, past failures, or unbelief, we ask You, Lord, to break those chains in Jesus’ name. Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that his worth is found in You alone, not in the outcome of any interview or the approval of man. May he walk in the assurance of Your love and the calling You have placed on his life.

We also want to take a moment to address the importance of seeking the Lord in all things. If your son, or anyone reading this, has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, we urge him to consider the weight of eternity. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If he has not yet invited Jesus into his heart as Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. The Bible tells us that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the greatest decision anyone can make, and it changes everything.

Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen the bond between ### and his family. May this season of waiting draw him closer to You and to those who love him. Give him patience, perseverance, and a heart of gratitude, even in the midst of uncertainty. Remind him that You are his Provider (Philippians 4:19) and that Your grace is sufficient for every need.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take root in his heart. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). We speak life, favor, and blessing over his life and this interview.

In closing, we pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who intercedes for us and makes all things possible. May Your will be done in ###'s life, and may he walk in the fullness of Your purpose for him. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We’re holding you and your son in prayer as he prepares for this interview. The waiting and wondering can feel heavy, every parent knows that tug of wanting things to go well for their child. Even in such a brief request, we can hear your heart.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is remind them they’re not walking into that room alone. If it feels right, you might let your son know you’re praying, or even send a short text beforehand: “I’m proud of you no matter what happens. I’m praying.” That kind of quiet support can steady his nerves and help him feel seen.

We’re also here, standing with you in that waiting. Whether this door opens wide, cracks just a little, or stays shut for now, we trust that God’s care for your son doesn’t hinge on a single outcome. He goes with him into every room, every conversation.

Lord, we lift this son to you right now. Calm any anxiety he carries. Give him clarity of thought, a steady voice, and the confidence that comes not from performance but from knowing he is already fully loved by you. And for this parent, grant peace in the waiting, and wisdom in how to encourage. We ask all this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Your cry for your son has reached the Father’s ear, and the eyes of mercy are quicker than our sighs. Before the prodigal formed his confession, the father saw him and ran with kisses. This is our God, He is never slow to behold the returning sinner, and He often answers the prayer before the words are fully shaped. Do not let the elder brother’s spirit of judgment or your own fears silence your pleading. The promise stands for every repentant one who comes by faith in Jesus Christ: all the promises in this Book belong to them.

Yet learn from Jacob, who, after his scheming, at last wrestled in prayer with lowliness and arguments drawn from God’s own Word. Humility fits prayer for a child’s soul, no merit of yours or his can move the Almighty, but His own character and covenant are strong pleas. Spread the case before Him: tell Him you claim nothing but His grace, remind Him of His Son’s blood, and press the suit with all the arguments Scripture provides. The father of Manasseh was a man of God, yet Manasseh sank into horrors; still, when he humbled himself greatly and prayed, the Lord was entreated. Try, I beseech you, the power of prayer, and content yourself with no prayer that is not bottomed upon faith in the God who answers.

But remember, the salvation of any soul is not measured by the liveliness of our prayers or the strength of our faith, but by the Object of that faith. Look away from your son’s condition to Jesus crucified. It is “Look unto Me, and be ye saved.” This salvation is God’s own, free and irreversible; it is not bought with our tears or vigils, but with the precious blood of Christ. If you would have mercy for him, point him there, and let your own heart rest there, too. The Holy Spirit who creates the feeblest faith will not quench it. Wait for the hope of righteousness by faith, and expect an answer perhaps not in the way you imagine, but, as with Jacob, an answer that prevails with God and changes everything.

When you ask for prayer for your adult son, I do not simply say "Lord, have mercy" and then forget. I call to mind the tears of Hannah, who stood before the Lord and poured out her soul for a child. She did not merely ask; she vowed to give back to God whatever He granted. This is the faith that moves mountains. A parent’s prayer, offered with such watchfulness and anguish, pierces the heavens. Do not imagine that because your son is grown, the time for such prayers has passed. Moses’ parents, facing a tyrant’s decree, saw that their child was proper, and by faith they hid him, sensing the grace of God already upon him. That same grace can still break through in your son’s life, even if now he seems far off.

Call to mind also how the Apostle Paul called Timothy his own son in the faith. True sonship is not merely of flesh, but of the spirit. So pray not only for his earthly welfare, but that he may be begotten anew in faith, holding faith and a good conscience. This charge is yours: to war a good warfare on his behalf by your prayers. Do not be cast down if circumstances appear contrary. Faith goes beyond human reasoning, and God often works in ways we cannot yet see.

Therefore, let us pray together, but take up the watchfulness of Hannah as your own. Let your tears precede your words, and do not cease to intercede. The same God who led the Magi by a star to worship the young Child can guide your son to the knowledge of the truth. Only be confident in prayer, and you shall see greater things than these.

Your prayer for your son rests on the most foundational truth there is. God has given us eternal life, and that life is found exclusively in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son does not have life. This is the record, the witness God has given. So the deepest need of every person, including the son you love, is not merely a changed circumstance but a genuine, life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Without the Son, life under the sun can feel frustrating, empty, and miserable. There is a quality of life, a life of righteousness, peace, and joy, that only comes from being in the Son.

When you persist in prayer for your son, understand what is truly happening. Prayer is not designed to get your will done on earth; it is designed to open the door for God’s will to be done. It begins with God’s purpose, moves into your heart to become your plea, and then returns to Him. Sometimes God delays an answer because He is working to bring us into harmony with His purpose. Remember Hannah. For years she prayed for a son out of her own anguish and need, but the moment of breakthrough came when her heart aligned with God’s bigger plan, she vowed to give the child back to Him for all his days. Suddenly her desire and God’s desire for the nation were one, and the answer came.

Do not grow weary or give up. The delay is not denial. Perhaps the Lord is using your very prayers to refine your own heart, to bring you to a place where you can fully release your son into His hands. The wisest prayer you can ever offer is this: “Lord, work out Your complete, perfect will in my son’s life. Have Your way. Do for him what You want to do.” That prayer never fails, because it aligns you with the One who loved your son enough to send His own Son to the cross for him. The purpose of Christ’s coming was not to destroy but to save, and that purpose remains.

You may feel weak and at a loss for words. You are not alone. The Holy Spirit assists us in our weakness, making intercession with groanings too deep for utterance. When you don’t know how to pray, the Spirit Himself is praying according to the will of God. You can trust that because you love God and are called according to His purpose, He is working all things together for good. The ultimate good He is aiming for is eternity, the redemption of the body, the placement as an adult son in His family forever. Rest in this: the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true. Continue in prayer. Do not stop. Your persistence is not about breaking God down, but about Him bringing you and your son’s situation fully into the light of His purposes, where real life is found.
