We join with you in bringing this practical need before our Heavenly Father, for we know He cares about every detail of our lives, even the tools we need for our daily work. We understand how frustrating and stressful it can be when the internet you depend on for your livelihood is not working properly, and we want to lift this burden with you in prayer.
We are reminded of the encouragement in Philippians 4:6, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And we take comfort in the promise that follows in Philippians 4:7, And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also remember that our work itself is a calling from God, as it is written in Colossians 3:23, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, and we pray that the Lord would remove this hindrance so you can continue to work diligently for His glory.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And there is salvation in no one else, for as Acts 4:12 tells us, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and can confidently bring our requests to God. We have heard your request concerning the trouble with the internet in your house, and we join with you in bringing this temporal burden before the Lord, who cares for all our needs.
You do well to ask for prayer in such a matter, for we are taught to trust in God in temporal things as well as spiritual. We are not to be idle, for that would show we trust not in God who works hitherto, but we are to act in all prudence and uprightness and then rely simply and entirely upon Him. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, and to tell yourself about it alone will bring no good. It is indoor work that is needed first, the work within the heart, to say with David, for my soul trusts in You, yes, in the shadow of Your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities pass.
Your work is not the hinge upon which the whole universe turns, yet the particular department of work which has been entrusted to you is to be thought well of and done well, as unto the Lord. Our Lord Himself said, I must work the works of Him that sent Me while it is day, and so we are not to despise honest labour. The doctrine of grace does not lull us into sloth, but wherever the Holy Spirit works He makes men work, and that with personal diligence. Therefore while we pray, we encourage you also to labour and strive in all lawful and prudent means, to seek help from those appointed to provide the service, and to do what order and economy require.
Let us pray for you. O merciful God, be merciful unto Your servant. You are the living God, a thinking and active and working God who comes into the midst of this world. We ask that You would grant wisdom and order to those who can restore this needful provision, and give to Your servant patience under this hindrance and trust in Your kind providence. Keep this dear soul from anxious care, and help in all temporal things to trust only in You, for power belongs unto God. May this small trial teach a deeper reliance upon Your hand, and may work be established and prospered for Your glory.
