Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are carrying. The loneliness of being a caregiver, the struggle with poor health, the sadness that does not lift, and feeling trapped by the internet is a heavy burden, and God sees it all.
I want to pray for you that God will bring healing and set you free from what has entangled you, and that He will lift the loneliness and hopelessness and replace it with His comfort and hope. You are not forgotten in this.
I believe very strongly that God does heal. The Scriptures show Jesus healing every kind of sickness and disease, and Matthew connects that to the prophecy in Isaiah that He bore our infirmities and our sicknesses. That tells us that healing, both physical and spiritual, is part of what Jesus came to bring.
At the same time there is much about healing that we do not understand. The Bible shows that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He healed instantly with a word, sometimes with a touch, sometimes even without being present, and once He healed gradually. He is not confined to one pattern. Healing can be immediate, and it can also be a process over time. Even the natural processes of healing that God placed in our bodies are divine, because He created those processes. And sometimes the deepest healing He does first is in the mind and emotions, healing the wounds and scars that sadness and long loneliness have left.
It is also important for you to know that God is sovereign in healing, and we do not know why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road. Even the apostle Paul, through whom God did many miracles, spoke of a close companion who was sick near to death. We should be careful of anyone who gives simple answers or puts guilt on the sick person as if lack of faith or hidden sin is always the reason. That is not scriptural and it is not right to place that burden on you. Healing is a work of God in His hands and in His wisdom, which is beyond our understanding.
For the struggle with the internet, you are right to want freedom. The internet can be filled with all kinds of unhelpful and harmful things, and it can easily become a place we run to when we are lonely, only to leave us more lonely and hopeless. God can help you find freedom there. It often helps to bring it into the light, to ask for prayer from trusted believers, to set clear and practical boundaries like limiting time and keeping devices out of private spaces, and to replace that time with healthier things, even small steps like prayer, reading Scripture, a short walk if health allows, or a simple act of service for someone else.
Your loneliness as a caregiver is real, and God cares about it. One of the ways Scripture encourages us when we feel low and isolated is to look outward with a servant heart, esteeming others and looking for small ways to serve. That does not mean denying your own needs, but often God begins to ease our loneliness as we connect with others in simple, humble ways. If possible, seek out fellowship with other believers who can pray for you, as the early church did when they brought the sick to the elders for prayer. You do not have to walk this alone. If health needs allow, also seek wise medical help, since God can bring healing through many means.
Jesus knows what it is to be weary and He invites those who are burdened to come to Him. He has power in the physical realm to heal, power in the spiritual realm, and power to calm the storms in our hearts.
My prayer for you is this: Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring this dear one before You. You see the loneliness, the caregiving burden, the poor health, the sadness and hopelessness, and the hold the internet has had. Lord, have mercy and bring Your healing. Where healing can be gradual, give patience and strength for the process. Where You will to heal more directly, we ask for Your touch. Heal also the mind and emotions, and lift the heaviness. Set this person free from addiction and fill the lonely places with Your presence and with caring community. Give hope again, and daily grace to keep going. Help each next step to be guided by Your Spirit and Your Word. Amen.
Please keep reaching out, keep praying honestly as you have, and keep looking to Jesus. He bore your infirmities and He cares for you deeply.
