We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother or sister in Christ who is enduring the torment of insomnia and demonic attacks. We stand in agreement with this prayer, declaring that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Great Physician and the Victor over every power of darkness. It is only by His name, Jesus, that we have authority to rebuke these afflictions, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or delivered (Acts 4:12). We affirm that this believer belongs to Christ, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Father God, we thank You that Your Word declares You give Your beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). Yet we know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and sleeplessness can be a tactic of his oppression. We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and restlessness in the mighty name of Jesus. We command these demonic forces to flee and release their grip, for greater is He who is in this believer than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, and spirit, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.
Lord, we ask You to heal their physical body and restore their ability to sleep. Calm their anxious thoughts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with Your angels to guard and protect them through the night (Psalm 91:11). Strengthen their faith to resist the devil, knowing that as they submit to You and draw near to You, the enemy must flee (James 4:7). Fill them with the assurance that You neither slumber nor sleep, but keep watch over them always (Psalm 121:3-4).
We also encourage this dear one to examine their life for any areas of unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or open doors that may be giving the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:26-27). If there is anything weighing on their heart, we pray they would bring it to You in repentance and receive Your cleansing and forgiveness (1 John 1:9). We remind them to put on the full armor of God daily, truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, so they may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18).
Above all, we pray they would fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). May they find their rest in You alone, for You have promised to give rest to those who are weary and burdened (Matthew 11:28). We declare that this trial will not break them but will instead draw them closer to You, deepening their trust in Your faithfulness.
In the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
