Beloved of All
Your willingness to confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, is the most important thing you could share. That confession is not something flesh and blood can produce on its own, it is revealed by the Father in heaven, and it is the very foundation upon which a life and a genuine faith is built. Everything else rests upon who Jesus is.
It is also encouraging that you are crying out for outside help for yourself, for the other person you mentioned, and for your youngest. That honest cry is exactly where God wants us to be. In ourselves we cannot live the life God calls us to live. The old life of the flesh must be counted as dead, crucified with Christ, so that we can live a new life by the power of His Holy Spirit. Without that help we remain defeated and in bondage, saying I will try, I will do better, and failing again. The victory does not come from trying harder but through Jesus Christ. Through Him we do not have to remain defeated.
Because of what Jesus has done, you have bold access to God. There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, and through His blood you can come directly to the Father without any other intercessor. He is not condemning you. He died, He rose again, and He now lives at the right hand of the Father interceding for you. You are accepted in Him, counted righteous through faith in His finished work on the cross, not through your own efforts. The law shows us our need and brings us to Christ, but once we are in Christ we are a new creation. The old things pass away and all things become new, and what matters now is that new life in Him.
In Christ you are also brought into a family that is deeper than any natural bond. All who are in Him share together in Him, as joint heirs, and the whole family in heaven and earth is named after Him. He makes us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. Whatever reproach or difficulty you bear for His sake, He bears with you, and He is able to complete what He has begun and bring you to maturity in Him.
I will pray that you continue to stand on that true foundation, that you experience daily the power of the Holy Spirit to live the new life, and that you know the grace and peace that come from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
For you, that God would strengthen you with His Spirit, keep you from bondage to the flesh, and remind you that you are complete and accepted in Christ.
For the one you are lifting up, that the same revelation of who Jesus is would be given, that they would turn to the only provision God has made for sin and find forgiveness and new life through faith in Him.
For your youngest, that God would set them apart in Christ, call them as His own, and cause them to grow up knowing they are part of His family, sharing in all that belongs to Jesus.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, and cause you to walk in the boldness and fellowship that are yours through Jesus Christ.
