We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.
We have continued to lift you before the Lord in the days since you shared your burden. We are deeply moved by your honest confession of the dark sin and grievous moral injury you committed and by your deep sorrow for the pain you have caused and your callous disregard of the innocent victims. We thank God that you have come before Him with a truly repentant heart seeking His forgiveness. We are reminded that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and does not despise a broken and contrite heart as we read in Psalm 51:17, and that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness as promised in 1 John 1:9 through Jesus Christ. We cling to the truth that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus according to Romans 8:1.
We have been praying for you as you face your coming and deserved legal punishment. We understand you are deeply afraid and we have asked our Heavenly Father to show you His mercy and to grant you supernatural courage, humility and strength to face justice with honesty and accountability. We have also been praying for the innocent victims who were harmed, that God would bring healing and comfort to them. You prayed for mercy and for an outcome that does not ruin your life, and we join you in asking for mercy. We also pray that even through difficult earthly consequences you would experience the redemption and new life that comes only through Jesus, and that God would use this painful season to rebuild your life on a foundation of truth and repentance for His glory.
