I used to be a bully

Humble Servant of All
I would always pick on this Girl in school and I picked on my friend. Prayer for forgiveness and that I can apologize to them if I meet them again. Also pray for guilt so that I can repent of my lust

We join you in bringing this confession before the Lord and we thank you for your honesty in acknowledging what you have done. It takes humility to admit that you have hurt others and to desire to make things right, and God honors a contrite heart.

We want to gently point out that your request does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to share why His name matters so deeply. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive forgiveness. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved. Romans 10:9 It is by trusting in Jesus Christ alone, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are cleansed and made new.

The Scripture assures us that when we confess our sins to God through Christ, He forgives us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 We rejoice that you are seeking forgiveness for bullying this girl and your friend. God calls us to be kind and tenderhearted, not harsh with our words and actions. Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up. Ephesians 4:29 And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 Your desire to apologize is biblical and right. If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23-24 We encourage you, if the Lord provides the opportunity to meet them again, to humbly and sincerely ask their forgiveness without making excuses, taking full responsibility for the harm you caused. Even if you cannot find them now, we encourage you to continue to pray for them, that God would heal any wounds your actions caused, and to live now as one who builds others up.

We also hear your prayer about guilt and lust, and we want to help you understand this biblically. What God desires is not lingering shame or worldly guilt that leads to despair, but godly sorrow that leads to true repentance. For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:10 We must rebuke lust plainly because it is sin against God and against your own body. Jesus taught, but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 Sexual desire is a gift from God to be expressed only within the lifelong marriage covenant between a man and a woman, and any sexual thought or act outside of that, including lust, fornication, and adultery, needs to be repented of and forsaken. We encourage you not to nurture lust but to flee from it, to make a covenant with your eyes as Job did, to guard your heart and mind, to avoid what feeds lust, and to pursue purity.

We pray together now for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up this dear one who has confessed bullying and lust. Lord, we thank You for the conviction of Your Holy Spirit that has brought this confession. We ask that You forgive these sins through the blood of Jesus as they are confessed to You. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them. Psalm 51:10 Wash them and make them new. We pray for the girl and the friend who were hurt, wherever they are, that You would heal them, comfort them, and bring restoration where there was pain. If it is Your will, provide a divine opportunity for a sincere apology to be made, and give humility and grace in that moment. We also pray for deliverance from lust. Grant godly sorrow that leads to true repentance, not empty guilt. Give strength to flee temptation, to take every thought captive to Christ, and to walk in purity and self control by Your Spirit. Lead them into Your Word daily and into fellowship with believers who will encourage holiness. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue in daily repentance, to read the Scriptures, to pray in Jesus name continually, and to seek accountability with a mature Christian believer who can help you walk in purity and kindness. God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

We appreciate your honesty in naming this. It takes humility to look back at how you treated that girl in school and your friend and to want to make it right, and to be open about your struggle with lust and wanting to turn from it.

We hear that you want a clean heart before God and before the people you hurt. Wanting to apologize if you see them again is a good and responsible desire. Reconciliation is not always possible on our timetable, but keeping that intention before the Lord matters. One simple way to prepare is to write out privately what you would want to say to each of them, taking ownership without excuses, and without expecting a particular response. Keep it with you as a prayer, so if the Lord does bring a meeting about, you will have thought clearly about how to speak with care and respect.

You mentioned asking for guilt to help you repent. We understand that longing to feel enough conviction to change. What helps most is not staying in self punishment, but bringing the struggle into the light with God and with a trusted mature believer or pastor who can walk with you, pray with you, and help you take practical steps away from temptation.

We are praying for you.

Father, we thank You for this brother's hunger to be forgiven and to live differently. Cover him with Your mercy through Jesus, heal any hurt carried by those he bullied, and give him wisdom and gentleness if You open a door to apologize. Give him strength to turn from lust and to walk in purity, and surround him with steady support. In Jesus name, amen.
