I went to the library today to finalize my evidence statement for an upcoming hearing. I was there for six hours and at the last minute the entire document was deleted. Maybe it’s for a reason. I do have the required evidence and will present it as best I can. I also ask for traveling mercy to and fro. I dint have msny clothes and the jacket is worn gown and discolored but it’s clean. I just ask that the judge not look down on me for not having a written statement prepared but you I so have new evidence to submit. I was Tom exhausted to type up a new statement

We have read your request and we are standing with you in prayer together over this hearing and all that has led up to it. We understand how discouraging it must have been to labor for six hours in the library only to have the entire document deleted at the last moment, and to feel too exhausted to retype it. We also hear your heart regarding traveling mercies, your concern about your clothing, and your desire to still present your evidence honestly and clearly before the judge.

We want to remind you that God sees your diligence and your exhaustion, and nothing is hidden from Him. Even when things feel like a setback, we trust that He is sovereign and works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose as Romans 8:28 says. When we are weak and weary, He gives power to the weak and to him who has no might He increases strength as Isaiah 40:29 says, and Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest in Matthew 11:28. We also take comfort that Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forward and forevermore as Psalm 121:8 says, so we are asking Him for that traveling mercy to and fro that you requested. Regarding your clothes, please be encouraged that what matters before God and should matter before a just judge is truth and a clean, humble presentation. Man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart as 1 Samuel 16:7 says, and the heart of the king, and the heart of a judge, is in Yahweh's hand. He directs it like a watercourse wherever He desires as Proverbs 21:1 says. To be clean and presentable as you are is honoring, and we pray the judge will see your sincerity and not your worn jacket. We encourage you to simply and truthfully explain to the court what happened, that you prepared a statement in good faith and lost it due to a technical failure, and respectfully ask for the opportunity to present your new evidence verbally and to submit it as the court allows. The Lord honors honesty and integrity.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why we pray in His name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved as Acts 4:12 says. There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus as 1 Timothy 2:5 says. To come to God we come through faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and trusting Him as Lord and Savior. It is in His name we have confidence to bring every need before the throne of grace, including this hearing.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You saw the six hours of labor and the loss of the document, and You know the exhaustion that followed. We ask You to grant rest and renewal tonight, to calm the anxious heart, and to give peace that surpasses all understanding as Philippians 4:6-7 promises when we bring our requests to You. We ask for traveling mercy, keep this one safe going out and coming in, guide every step to the hearing and back home. We ask for favor before the judge, that the judge would listen with understanding and not look down on the lack of a written statement or on worn clothing, but would hear the truth of the evidence with fairness and discernment. Give clarity of mind and speech to present the evidence well, with truthfulness and composure, and let no important detail be forgotten. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory as Philippians 4:19 says, and remind this one that You clothe and care for Your children. Above all, let Your will be done in this hearing, and let Your presence be felt as strength and comfort. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our mediator, amen.

We encourage you to rest as you are able before you travel, to bring your evidence organized as best you can, and to speak calmly and respectfully to the court about what happened. Trust the Lord to be your advocate and your strength, for He is near to all who call on Him in truth as Psalm 145:18 says. We are continuing to pray for you.

We read your note and felt how heavy today has been. Six hours of careful work lost at the last minute is so discouraging, and it makes sense you felt too exhausted to start over. We are glad you still have the evidence you need and we admire your desire to present it honestly and do your best.

It is understandable to feel self conscious about your jacket and about not having a typed statement ready. A clean jacket is enough, and judges see people come in all kinds of circumstances. What will matter most is that you are there, you are prepared to speak to what happened, and you have your evidence with you.

A small step that might help you feel steadier tomorrow is to jot a brief handwritten outline tonight if you have the energy, just a few bullet points in order so you can walk through your points clearly without needing the full document. Keep your new evidence together in one folder and plan to arrive a little early so the travel there and back feels less rushed. Please try to get some rest tonight after so much strain.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. We ask for traveling mercy to and from the hearing, for calm and clarity when speaking, and for the evidence to be received and understood. Give rest tonight and peace in the courtroom tomorrow. Amen.

Your long labour of six hours and the sudden loss of your document at the last moment is a sore trial, and weariness must press heavily upon you after such disappointment. Yet even this loss is not beyond the notice of Him whose tender mercy thinks upon His creatures at all times. When God has purposes of mercy toward His people He sometimes permits such stern discipline and brings them low, that they may more clearly see His hand and seek His face at the Mercy Seat.

Be encouraged that the Lord sees not as man sees. Man looks upon the outward appearance and upon the prepared papers, but the Lord looks upon the heart. Your jacket, though worn and discolored, is clean, and you need not fear that honest poverty will be counted against you before Him who has provided for the poor and who clothes His own with a righteousness not their own. He who gives mercy gratis, asking no payment, delights to give daily benefits to those who trust His dear Son. He will give you a full discharge in the High Court above through Christ who died and is risen again, and that is a greater acquittal than any earthly court can give.

We will pray for you, that the Lord in His providence will grant you traveling mercy to and fro, keeping you in safety upon the way. We will ask that He will give you strength after such exhaustion, clearness of mind to present the evidence you do have as best you can, and that He will incline the heart of the judge to hear you with fairness and not to look down upon you for the want of a written statement. What the Gospel asks of us it also gives to us, and so we ask the Lord to give you words in that hour, and a calm and quiet spirit to speak the truth plainly.

Cast your care upon Him, for He is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy, and His mercy still holds back the sword of justice for those who come through Christ alone. Seek His face anew, trust not in any preparation of your own, but in the tender mercy of our God which comes to us through Jesus Christ our only Saviour. May He who met Hagar by the well in the desert meet you also in this desert season, and may you know that His eye is upon those who fear Him and hope in His mercy.

We commend you to that mercy now, praying that the Lord will sustain you, provide for your needs, and cause all things to work for your good as you look to Christ.
