Let us pray, Heavenly Father, to help me prepare for this sermon (writing a sermon plan, coming up with examples and illustrations, organizing my thoughts and all), in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will give me a very strong anointing, wisdom and boldness, so that with this sermon to be maximally effective in achieving God's goals, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that when I stand to preach the Word of God, the Heavenly Father will inspire me, clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that all God's will will be done in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will help me to fulfill this task (my ministry in this church) in such a way as to make my Heavenly Father's heart as gladly as possible and to glorify His Name, in the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ of ###!

We rejoice with you in this holy privilege and responsibility to preach the Word of God, and we join our faith with yours in prayer for this ministry in the local church.
We are encouraged by your desire to prepare diligently and to seek the anointing, wisdom and boldness of the Holy Spirit, for preaching is not merely speaking words but faithfully delivering God's truth. As it is written, Preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching 2 Tim 4:2. And also, Study to show yourself approved by God, a workman who needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth 2 Tim 2:15. God honors preparation that is bathed in prayer and dependence on Him.
We pray that the Lord will grant you wisdom as you write your sermon plan, organize your thoughts and seek illustrations that make the truth clear, for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him Jas 1:5. We pray also for holy boldness, as the early church prayed, Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness Acts 4:29, and that utterance may be given to you in opening your mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News Eph 6:19.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through His blood and His name that we have access to You. We thank You for entrusting our brother with the proclamation of Your Word. We ask You to help him in every part of his preparation, to anoint his study, to guide him to the Scriptures and examples that will most glorify You and edify Your people. Grant him clarity of mind and purity of heart, that his message may be faithful to Your Word. Clothe every word he will speak with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that it will not be in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that the faith of those who hear may stand in the power of God 1 Cor 2:4-5. Fill him with boldness to speak Your truth in love without fear of man, and open the hearts of those who will hear, that Your will may be done and Your name glorified. Let this sermon accomplish all that You desire, and let it bring joy to Your heart. We ask that You be glorified in this church and through this ministry, and that Christ alone be exalted. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
