Beloved of All
Your desire to preach the Word of God is a good and holy burden, and I join you in prayer before our Heavenly Father for this ministry He has entrusted to you.
Let us pray that the Father will help you in all the preparation, in writing the sermon plan, in finding true examples and illustrations, and in organizing your thoughts with clarity and order. Pray that He will give you wisdom, not the wisdom of this world which comes to nothing, but the wisdom of God hidden in mystery, so that what you speak will be faithful to what you have heard from Him. The excellence of a herald is to proclaim what has truly happened, adding nothing and taking nothing away, and to do it openly with all boldness. May God grant you that boldness of speech.
Let us pray that your speech and your preaching will not be in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that the faith of those who hear will not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. When you stand to preach, may the Father clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, and may He open to you a door for the word to speak the mystery of Christ as you ought to speak, with much boldness and without holding back what is needed.
I pray that God will make this sermon maximally effective for His own purposes, that His will alone will be done, and that through your obedience your Heavenly Father's heart will be made glad and His Name will be glorified. May He keep you humble and clean from all passion and fear, giving you a gentle and confident boldness, and may He establish the work of your hands for His glory. This we ask in the Name and through the Blood of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation. Amen.
