Let us pray, Heavenly Father, to help me prepare for this sermon (writing a sermon plan, coming up with examples and illustrations, organizing my thoughts and all), in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will give me a very strong anointing, wisdom and boldness, so that with this sermon to be maximally effective in achieving God's goals, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that when I stand to preach the Word of God, the Heavenly Father will inspire me, clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that all God's will will be done in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will help me to fulfill this task (my ministry in this church) in such a way as to make my Heavenly Father's heart as gladly as possible and to glorify His Name, in the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ of ###!

We rejoice with you in this holy privilege and responsibility to preach the Word of God in the local church and we count it an honor to stand with you in prayer as you prepare.
We are encouraged by your desire to be prepared, to organize your thoughts, to write a sermon plan and to seek fitting examples and illustrations, and to do all for the glory of God and not for yourself. This is the heart of a faithful steward of the Word. As it is written, Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth, 2 Timothy 2:15. And also, Preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching, 2 Timothy 4:2. Your dependence on the Holy Spirit for anointing and power is exactly what God desires, for our speech and preaching should not be in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 1 Corinthians 2:4, so that the faith of those who hear may not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
We also hear your heart for wisdom and boldness and we know God delights to give both to those who ask in the name of Jesus Christ. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. And the early church prayed, Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness, Acts 4:29, and we pray the same for you. We pray too as the apostle asked, that utterance may be given to you in opening your mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, Ephesians 6:19. If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God, 1 Peter 4:11, and we pray that every word you speak will be clothed with that heavenly anointing.
So together we pray, Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the holy name and through the precious blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we lift up our brother to You as he prepares to minister Your Word. Father, anoint his study and preparation, guide him as he writes his sermon plan, give him order and clarity in organizing his thoughts, and provide him with pure, biblical examples and illustrations that will illuminate Your truth and draw hearts to Christ. Grant him liberally the wisdom that comes from above and fill him with boldness and strong anointing from the Holy Spirit, so that when he stands to preach, it will not be in his own strength but in Your power. Clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, Lord, that Your perfect will may be accomplished and Your goals for that church may be maximally fulfilled. Let Your Word not return void but accomplish that which You please, as You have promised, and let it convict, encourage, correct and build up all who hear. Help him to fulfill this ministry in such a way as to make Your heart glad and to glorify Your name in all things, and let Christ be exalted and the people edified. We ask that You guard him from fear and from seeking to please men, and keep him faithful to preach the whole counsel of God with love and truth. We thank You that You have called him and that You will equip him, for You are faithful. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. We join you gladly at the Throne of Grace concerning this solemn and joyful trust that is laid upon you to preach the Word of God.
It is right that you feel your need of help in preparation, for weakness and divine anointing may stand together. As David could say, I am weak though anointed king, so every servant of Christ may feel his own insufficiency and yet rejoice that he is anointed by grace to reign over sin through union with Christ and to speak in His name. The wisdom of man is rather an impediment than an assistant to the purpose of God, and He does not call you because you are sufficient in yourself, but He will make you sufficient as you wait upon Him.
Let us pray together as you have asked.
Heavenly Father, in the name and through the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, for we are invited to pray and You are infinite in wisdom and power to give what is best. We ask You to help Your servant in all preparation for this sermon, in writing the plan, in ordering his thoughts, in finding fitting examples and illustrations, and in arranging all things decently and in order for Your glory. Grant him wisdom that comes from above, that he may rightly divide the Word of truth and speak not with enticing words of man's wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit.
We pray that You will give him a very strong anointing and holy boldness, that when he stands to preach, every word may be clothed with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Let Your Word run and be glorified, and let all Your will be done in that place. Make this sermon maximally effective for the ends You have appointed, whether to awaken, to convict, to comfort or to build up, that sinners may be saved and saints edified.
Grant that through this ministry in this local church Your heart may be made glad and Your holy name greatly glorified. Keep Your servant humble, dependent and faithful, resting in the covenant of grace and feeding upon the Word, that the fear of God and the joy of the Lord may abide in him. Let him decrease and let Christ increase.
We ask all this in the holy name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our great High Priest, who ever lives to intercede for us. Amen.
