I have to preach in a local church

Beloved of All
Upcoming I have to preach the Word of God at a local ###. Please support me with prayers to God. Let us pray, Heavenly Father, to help me prepare for this sermon (writing a sermon plan, coming up with examples and illustrations, organizing my thoughts and all), in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will give me a very strong anointing, wisdom and boldness, so that with this sermon to be maximally effective in achieving God's goals, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that when I stand to preach the Word of God, the Heavenly Father will inspire me, clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that all God's will will be done in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will help me to fulfill this task (my ministry in this church) in such a way as to make my Heavenly Father's heart as gladly as possible and to glorify His Name, in the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ of ###!

We stand with you in eager anticipation and joyful intercession as you prepare to proclaim the Word of God in ###. What a sacred privilege it is to open the Scriptures before God’s people, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ (Romans 10:17). We recognize that this is not merely a task to be accomplished, but a holy calling to be fulfilled in complete dependence on the Holy Spirit.

We lift you before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to grant you wisdom as you study and prepare. May the Spirit of truth guide you into all truth, illuminating the Scriptures so that your sermon is not based on human wisdom, but on the power of God (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). May every illustration, every example, and every point be rooted in the unchanging Word, so that what is preached is not the wisdom of men, but the very oracles of God (1 Peter 4:11). We pray that your preparation would be marked by prayer, fasting, and a deep humility, knowing that apart from Christ, you can do nothing (John 15:5).

Father, we ask that You anoint your servant with boldness and clarity as they stand before Your people. Let the words spoken not be their own, but Yours, delivered with the authority and conviction that comes only from heaven. Clothe every syllable with the power of the Holy Spirit, so that hearts are pierced, minds are renewed, and lives are transformed. May the sermon be a living testimony to Your grace, leading the lost to repentance and the weary to rest in Christ (Matthew 11:28). We pray that the anointing would break every yoke of spiritual dullness and resistance, so that Your will is done in that place, just as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

We also pray for the congregation at ###. Prepare their hearts to receive the Word with meekness, for the implanted Word is able to save their souls (James 1:21). Remove every distraction, every hardness of heart, and every spirit of slumber that would hinder them from hearing what the Spirit is saying to the church (Revelation 2:7). May they not merely be hearers of the Word, but doers, proving their faith by their obedience (James 1:22).

Lord, we ask that this ministry would bring great glory to Your Name. Let the fruit of this sermon endure for eternity, as souls are saved, believers are edified, and Your kingdom is advanced. May the preacher’s joy be full as they see You work through their obedience, and may Your heart be gladdened as Your children walk in truth (3 John 1:4). We pray all these things in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May His precious blood, shed for the remission of sins, cover this ministry and purify every word spoken in Your house.

Finally, we rebuke every spirit of fear, confusion, or distraction that would seek to hinder this work. We declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the preaching of the Gospel in ### (Matthew 16:18). May the Lord Jesus Christ Himself be exalted, and may His Word run swiftly and be glorified (2 Thessalonians 3:1). We stand in agreement with you, believing that God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Amen.

We thank you for letting us stand with you as you prepare to preach. Your heart to glorify the Father and lift up Jesus in this church is clear, and we are honored to pray for you in this work God has entrusted to you.

We know preparing a sermon can feel weighty, holding the plan, the illustrations, the organization of thoughts, and the longing to be faithful all at once. One simple practice that helps many who preach is to write down the one main burden of the message in a single sentence and then test each point and illustration against it, asking how the people listening will actually hear it. Praying over that sentence as you build the outline, and allowing time to step away and pray between study and final shaping, often brings clarity and keeps the message pastoral and focused.

We are asking God to meet you in each part of the preparation, to give you wisdom and understanding as you study, and to clothe you with steady boldness when you stand. We pray He anoints you for this specific service and works through you so that His will is done and Christ is honored.

Father, we lift our brother to You. Prepare his heart and his message, grant him clarity and peace as he organizes his thoughts, and anoint his words with the power of Your Holy Spirit. Keep him resting in Christ and make his ministry in this church pleasing to You. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we count it a joyful and solemn thing that you are to stand up to preach the Word of God in the local church. To be entrusted with the oracles of God is no light stewardship, and your desire to be found faithful in it, to have your thoughts ordered, your plan shaped, your illustrations and words made fit for the Master's use, is itself a token of grace at work in you.

You speak rightly of your need of anointing, wisdom and boldness, and we would remind you that weakness and divine anointing may stand together. The believer is anointed as a king unto the Lord by virtue of union with Christ, and yet he may still cry, I am weak. This is not a contradiction but the very place where God is glorified. The wisdom of man is rather an impediment than an assistant to the purpose of God, and when we are raised up to do any work for Him we must not sit down and say we are qualified because we have such and such gifts. Apart from the anointing which God gives, we have no right nor power to reign or to speak for Him. If He has anointed you to preach, He will not forsake the work He has begun, for why would a wise God begin a work He does not carry on.

Therefore let us take your need to the Throne of Grace. We are invited to come there, and we are told how we are to come. Let us therefore come boldly unto the Throne of Grace. There is a reason given for such boldness, for we come not in our own name but in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, who is infinite in wisdom and unlimited in power, able to give us whatever is best for us in the best possible way. We cannot exceed His power or His willingness to help us, let our requests be as large as they may. Preparation is needed, and that preparation must be sought before we stand to speak. It is wrought in us by the Author of all preparation, who seals His work by His Spirit, and who prevents us with the blessings of goodness before we go forth.

We will pray with you and for you.

Heavenly Father, we ask in the holy name and through the precious blood of Jesus Christ Thy Son that Thou wouldst help Thy servant in all the preparation of this sermon, in writing the plan, in ordering his thoughts, in providing examples and illustrations that shall make Thy truth plain. Grant him a strong anointing of the Holy Spirit, with wisdom from above and holy boldness, that this sermon may be maximally effective to accomplish Thy will and Thy goals. When he stands to preach Thy Word, do Thou inspire him and clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that all Thy will may be done. Help him to fulfill this ministry in this church in such a way as to make Thy heart glad and to glorify Thy name. Keep him low at Thy feet and high in bold faith at Thy throne, that Christ alone may be exalted and sinners drawn to Him. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we ask it, Amen.

We join you in prayer with thanksgiving for your willingness to serve and to preach the Word of God.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name and blood of Jesus Christ and ask for Your help for our brother as he prepares to preach. Grant him clarity as he writes his sermon plan, wisdom to organize his thoughts, and grace to choose fitting examples and illustrations that make Your truth clear. For truth is simple and powerful when it is spoken faithfully, and we ask that You make his preparation diligent and his heart ready.

We pray that You will give him strong anointing, wisdom not of this world but Your wisdom revealed by the Holy Spirit, and holy boldness. Let that boldness be free from anger and self seeking, and full of gentleness and courage, so that he may speak as he ought to speak. When he stands to preach, clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that Your will may be done and Your Word may bear fruit according to Your purpose.

Help him to fulfill this ministry in the local church in a way that makes Your heart glad and glorifies Your name. Let Christ be lifted up, let the hearers be edified and drawn to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and let all that is done be for Your glory. Strengthen him, give him peace, and let Your Spirit guide his lips.

We ask all this in the holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
