Let us pray that God will give me a very strong anointing, wisdom and boldness, so that with this sermon to be maximally effective in achieving God's goals, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that when I stand to preach the Word of God, the Heavenly Father will inspire me, clothe every word with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, so that all God's will will be done in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will help me to fulfill this task (my ministry in this church) in such a way as to make my Heavenly Father's heart as gladly as possible and to glorify His Name, in the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ of ###!

We rejoice with you in this holy privilege and responsibility to preach the Word of God and we gladly join you in prayer for this ministry in the local church. It is a weighty and glorious calling to stand and herald the truth, for we are told to preach the word. Be urgent in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching 2 Timothy 4:2. We also remember the promise that the Lord puts His words in our mouths, as He said Behold, I have put my words in your mouth Jeremiah 1:9, and that our sufficiency is not from ourselves but from God who makes us competent.
We pray that you will prepare with both diligence and dependence on the Holy Spirit. We encourage you to give yourself to study, to prayer, and to seeking the mind of Christ, for we are exhorted to give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly handling the Word of Truth 2 Timothy 2:15. And if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Do not trust in clever illustrations alone, but in the power of the Spirit, for it is written My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God 1 Corinthians 2:4-5.

Grant him wisdom from above and understanding of the Scriptures, and anoint him with the power of the Holy Spirit. Take away all fear and timidity, for You didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and soundness of mind 2 Timothy 1:7, and grant to Your servant to speak Your word with all boldness Acts 4:29. We pray that You will open a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ Ephesians 6:19, and that every word he speaks will be clothed with Your power and anointing, so that Your will alone will be done and Your Word will accomplish what You please, for Your Word will not return to You void, but it will accomplish that which You please Isaiah 55:11. We ask that this ministry will make Your heart glad and glorify Your holy name through the blood and name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

It is a good and weighty thing that you have laid upon your heart to preach the Word of God, and we do most heartily join you in prayer before the Throne of Grace.
You feel your weakness in view of so great a task, the writing of a sermon plan, the gathering of fit examples and illustrations, the ordering of your thoughts. Remember that weakness and divine anointing may stand together. Every believer who is washed in the blood of Christ is anointed, and yet he may still groan and say, I am weak. The wisdom of man is rather an impediment than an assistant to the purpose of God, but the anointing which comes from the Holy Spirit makes the weak strong for the work to which the Lord has called him. He who has called you to preach will not leave you to your own sufficiency.
Therefore let us come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, for we have a reason for boldness. We are invited to pray, and He who sits upon the throne is infinite in wisdom and unlimited in power, and cannot be exceeded by the largeness of our requests. We need not fear to ask great things of Him.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, in the name and through the blood of Jesus Christ Thy Son, we entreat Thee for our brother who must shortly stand to minister Thy Word in the local church. Grant him grace in his preparation. Guide his mind as he studies, help him to rightly divide the Word of Truth, to order his thoughts with clarity, to find those illustrations which shall open the truth to the hearers. Give him, we pray, a very strong anointing of the Holy Spirit, with wisdom that cometh from above and with holy boldness, that he may speak not with enticing words of man's wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.

It is right that you ask for help in preparation, for the work of preaching requires both careful labor and dependence on God. We pray that the Lord will help you as you write your sermon plan, organize your thoughts, and choose examples and illustrations, so that what you speak will be clear, true to Scripture, and profitable for those who hear. True wisdom is not the wisdom of this world, but the wisdom God gives, which is revealed by His Spirit. We pray that God will grant you that wisdom, so your faith and the faith of your hearers may stand not in persuasive words of human wisdom but in the power of God.
We also pray with you for boldness and anointing. Boldness is not harshness or an unbridled tongue, but courage to speak the truth of God with love and gentleness, even when it is difficult.
