Silas
Beloved of All
We thank God for your willingness to stand and preach His Word and we join you in prayer for this ministry He has entrusted to you.
We pray the Father will help you as you prepare, as you write out your plan, choose examples and illustrations, and organize your thoughts. Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing and that the fear of the Lord is where wisdom begins. Knowledge gives facts, but wisdom gives the right use of knowledge, and it is better than rubies and all that can be desired. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, so we ask that as you seek Him first, He will pour out on you the spirit of wisdom and understanding and make your preparation clear and ordered for His purposes.
We also pray for a true anointing and for boldness. The wisdom that comes from above is not earthly or sensual, but pure and peaceable, and it brings life to those who have it. Just as God filled those He called to build the tabernacle with His Spirit, with wisdom and skill for the work, and just as He anointed what was set apart for His service, we ask Him to anoint you and to clothe every word you speak with the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray your trust will not be in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that the faith of those who hear will rest not on the wisdom of people but on the power of God.
We pray that when you stand to speak, the Lord will inspire you and make your message fully effective for His goals, that His will alone will be accomplished, that His Name will be glorified, and that His heart will be made glad through your obedience. May the Lord give you boldness to speak His truth faithfully and may He use you to build up His people, in the name and through the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen.
