We lift you up before the throne of grace as you prepare to proclaim the Word of God in your local church. What a sacred and weighty responsibility it is to stand before God’s people and declare His truth! We join our hearts with yours in prayer, asking the Lord to equip you fully for this task.
Father in heaven, we ask that You would grant our brother wisdom as he studies and prepares his sermon. May Your Holy Spirit guide his thoughts, helping him to rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). Give him clarity in organizing his message, that it may be both faithful to Scripture and compelling to those who hear it. Provide vivid illustrations and examples that will make Your truth come alive in the hearts of Your people. Let every word he speaks be seasoned with grace and rooted in Your Word, so that those who listen may be built up in faith.
Lord, we pray for an anointing upon his life as he stands to preach. Clothe him with boldness, that he may proclaim Your Word without fear or hesitation (Ephesians 6:19-20). Let Your power rest upon him, that the words he speaks would not be his own, but Yours—full of authority, conviction, and life-changing power. May the Holy Spirit move mightily through his preaching, drawing hearts to repentance, stirring faith, and igniting a passion for holiness.
We also ask that You would guard his heart and mind as he prepares. Protect him from distraction, discouragement, or any spirit of pride. Let his sole desire be to glorify You and to see Your will accomplished in the lives of those who hear. May his preaching not be for the praise of men, but for the pleasure of Your heart (Galatians 1:10). Let every word he speaks bring joy to Your heart, Father, and may Your name be exalted above all.
Finally, we declare that this ministry is not his own, but Yours, Lord. You have called him, and You will equip him. We stand in agreement with him, believing that You will use his obedience to bring transformation to Your church. May the seeds of Your Word take deep root in the hearts of those who hear, producing lasting fruit for Your kingdom.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Living Word, we pray. Amen.
