I have left the faith

Dexter2020

Good and Faithful Servant
I have left the faith since God cannot answer my prayer, church I also quit going and went on to something rather than God with empty promises which will not happen. You can't blame me cause for dropping out and turning to other faith.

We hear the deep pain and disappointment in your words, and our hearts ache with you. It is clear that you have walked through a season of profound struggle, feeling as though God has been silent when you needed Him most. We want you to know that your feelings are valid, doubt, anger, and even the temptation to turn away are not unfamiliar to those who have sought the Lord earnestly. But we must also speak truth in love, for the enemy would love nothing more than to use your pain to pull you further from the One who alone can heal it.

First, let us address the foundation of your struggle: the belief that God has not answered your prayer. Scripture tells us, "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you" (Matthew 7:7 WEB). Yet we know that God’s answers are not always what we expect or desire. Sometimes He says "no" or "wait" because His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB). His silence is not absence, nor is His delay neglect. The psalmist cried out, "How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?" (Psalm 13:1 WEB), yet he also declared, "But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation" (Psalm 13:5 WEB). Even in the waiting, God is working.

You mentioned turning to another faith, and we must rebuke this gently but firmly. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). To seek fulfillment outside of Christ is to turn to empty wells that cannot satisfy (Jeremiah 2:13 WEB). We do not say this to condemn you, but to warn you, your soul is too precious to be led astray by false promises.

We also want to address the bitterness toward the church. The body of Christ is made up of imperfect people, and yes, there are those who have failed to love as they should. But the church is not the problem, sin is. And the answer to sin is not abandonment, but repentance and restoration. "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:25 WEB). Isolation only deepens the wound; fellowship, though flawed, is part of God’s design for healing.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister who feels abandoned by You. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a way they cannot deny. Break through the silence with Your presence, and let them feel the weight of Your love. Forgive them for turning to other faiths, and draw them back to the truth of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Heal the wounds caused by unanswered prayers and the failures of Your people. Restore their faith, not because we deserve it, but because You are faithful. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18 WEB) and that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We urge you to reconsider your steps. Return to the Scriptures, not with a heart of accusation, but with a heart open to truth. Read the Psalms, see how David poured out his despair yet always returned to praise. Read the Gospels, see how Jesus wept, suffered, and yet conquered death for you. You are not alone in your doubt, but do not let doubt have the final word. The enemy wants you to believe God has failed you, but God is still on His throne, and His love for you has not wavered. Come back to Him. He is waiting with open arms.

We can’t pretend what you’re describing isn’t painful, it is. When you’ve asked God for something real and met only silence, the weight of that disappointment can feel crushing. It makes sense that you pulled back. You’re not the first person to walk away because hope felt too risky to hold onto anymore, and we don’t look down on you for it. Sometimes what’s called “doubt” or “dropping out” is actually someone trying to survive after a deep hurt that hasn’t been acknowledged yet. We’re sorry you’ve been carrying that alone.

We’re not going to lecture you or try to talk you back into something right now. But we do want to sit with you in one honest observation: when people step away from faith because God didn’t come through the way they needed, they’re usually not walking toward nothing, they’re walking away from pain that got tied up with prayer itself. Sometimes the most helpful next move isn’t going straight back to church or trying to force belief again. It’s giving yourself permission to tell God exactly how angry and let down you feel, without cleaning it up. That kind of raw honesty isn’t a lack of faith; it’s the kind of real interaction He can actually work with. The Psalms are filled with people doing exactly that, and God didn’t strike them for it.

If right now you can’t pray the way you used to, maybe you could try telling Him the truth out loud, even if it sounds blunt: “I feel like You broke Your promises to me, and I’m done pretending I’m okay with it.” Say it and stop there. You don’t have to solve it in one conversation. That’s a place to start, not a finish line.

Lord, You are not afraid of our disappointment or our walking away. Meet this person in the quiet they’ve chosen. When they feel unheard, let them know You are still listening. When church felt empty, surround them with even one person who sees them without judgment. Guard their heart from settling for less than You, even now. In Jesus’ name.

You have concluded that because your prayer was not answered as you would have it, God Himself must be set aside. This is a rash and dangerous course. Many a true child of God has cried out in the bitterness of a disappointed hope, but to abandon the faith altogether is to heap sorrow upon sorrow and to exchange a living fountain for broken cisterns that hold no water. The Lord does not cast off His people forever, though there be times when the heavens seem as brass and the heart is ready to faint. Unanswered petitions are not unheard. God keeps a file for our prayers, they are treasured in the King’s archives, not blown away by the wind. His long-dated bills will be punctually honoured, though we must wait till the day of fulfilment.

Consider whether there be not some cause within your own bosom for the silence. It may be that unanswered prayer is a Fatherly chastisement for some sin harboured or some idol retained. It may be that the prayer itself was tainted with selfishness or unbelief. Or perhaps the Lord is strengthening your soul by the arduous exercise of waiting, that you might be finely useful in the future. To turn aside to another faith is no remedy at all; it is to run from the physician into the arms of the disease. The turning that is needed is not a turning from Christ to emptiness, but a turning from your rebellion back to the only One who can heal your backsliding. He has said, “I will heal their backsliding,” and that promise holds good for you even now.

Your prayer may have been broken, your faith small, your spirit filled with doubting and fear. Yet a little faith saves the soul. The father ran to meet the prodigal while he was yet a great way off, his prayer but half-formed upon his lips. “Take with you words, and turn to the Lord.” Away with your false confidences, for they will cry, “Away with Christ!” Either give them up, or give up hope. The turning-point of a man’s life is when he gets to God in Christ, giving all up, and resting by faith in the mercy of God. That mercy is free, and the door is open. Cast yourself upon Him who came to seek and to save that which was lost.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You say you have left the faith because God did not answer your prayer, and you call His promises empty. But look at Peter on the sea: when the wind blew strong, he began to sink. Jesus did not say the wind was too fierce; He said, “Wherefore didst thou doubt, O thou of little faith?” If your faith had been steadfast, you would have stood fast even when no answer came on your terms. Prayer is not a command that obligates God, but a confidence that endures beyond sight. Christ prayed for Peter not because He lacked power, but because Peter’s soul was shaken and needed to be braced. So He deals with us, letting trials teach us to trust more deeply.

But you have not only left off praying; you have turned to other faiths. This is a mark of an unsound and unbelieving mind. For if you truly believed the gospel, why do you add other things as though Christ were not sufficient? These other paths are fables, imitations past their season, leading only to deceit from seducing spirits. Do not be hardened by their hypocrisy. The church prays for you, and though you think you have no need of such prayers, it is precisely when you feel that need least that you need them most. Do not exalt yourself, lest you be humbled. Return, then, and lay hold of the righteousness that comes by grace, which is greater than life and the mother of immortal life. Doubt no more, but let this stumbling teach you to rely wholly on the One whose promises never fail.

You spoke of prayers that have gone unanswered and promises that seem empty. That is a difficult and lonely place to stand, and I do not dismiss the weight of it. Your honesty in naming the disappointment is something God can work with. The Scriptures never present prayer as a formula that always yields the result we desire. In fact, one of the deepest purposes of prayer is to shape us into people who trust the will of the Father even when His answer is not what we asked for. The Son Himself cried out in the garden and entrusted His request to the One who could have saved Him from death, yet He submitted to the greater plan. Through that suffering, He showed us that prayer teaches obedience and surrender, not just the receiving of gifts. Faith learns to say, "Not my will, but Yours be done."

When the response we long for does not come, the trial exposes what faith is actually resting on. Real faith is not a blind leap into the dark. It is substance. It is the solid ground under things hoped for, the conviction of things not yet seen. The elders and patriarchs obtained a good report because they took God at His word. They lived and died clinging to promises whose fulfillment they saw only from a distance. Many of them did not receive the full promise in their lifetime. Abraham looked toward a city whose builder and maker is God, yet he wandered as a stranger. Those in the great roll call of faith subdued kingdoms and also were tortured, refusing release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection. Faith does not guarantee immediate deliverance from every trouble. It secures the presence of God through the trouble and a future outcome that is certain.

What you are experiencing now is not unique, nor is it a sign that God has abandoned you. It is the common testing ground where faith must be coupled with patience. The promise of God often has a span of time between its giving and its fulfillment. That interval is not empty; it is where the quality of faith is proven and refined. Through faith and patience, the people of God inherit the promises. The work of faith is not a one-time decision; it is a living, enduring trust that keeps its eyes on the invisible God and holds fast. That labor of love and patience was commended in the early church even when heavy persecution pressed them. It is the patience that, after doing the will of God, waits to obtain what He has pledged.

I also hear the weight behind your words about leaving the church and turning elsewhere. It may feel like the only honest response when the spiritual community or the promises themselves seem hollow. Yet the root question remains: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith? The gift of God is not something we earn by getting prayers answered or by maintaining a perfect record. It comes by trusting in Jesus Christ. Paul himself was once a violent opponent of the faith, wreaking havoc on the church and forcing believers to blaspheme. Later, that same man counted himself the least of the apostles because of his past, but he knew that the one who had been forgiven much loved much. No rupture is too great for the mending power of God.

Faith produces works, yes, but the works do not substitute for the faith. A genuine faith will show itself in a life that clings to God even when the visible results are absent. The testing of your faith is working something deeper than a quick answer ever could. It is forging a trust that can endure fire. And when you have been sifted, what remains is a faith that is far more precious than gold.

The promise of the Messiah, the redemption of the world, and the resurrection of the body are not empty. They are sealed by the blood of Jesus and guaranteed by His rising from the grave. The answer to your deepest prayer may not be the circumstance you asked to change, but the answer God gives is often the fellowship of His presence in the furnace and the refining of your heart. I am praying that you will find the faith that sees the invisible and the patience that inherits the promise, not because you never stumbled, but because the One who called you is faithful. He will do it.

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your heart before the Lord since you shared your struggle with us. It grieves us to hear how the silence you experienced made faith feel like an empty promise, and how the weight of unanswered prayer drove you to walk away from the church and even from God Himself. You are not alone in feeling this way—so many of us have wrestled with doubt when heaven seemed closed, and we want you to know that your honesty before the Lord is not something to fear or hide.

We have prayed that the Holy Spirit would meet you in the quiet places where you feel abandoned, that He would remind you of His nearness even when you cannot sense Him. We asked God to reveal Himself to you in ways that cannot be ignored, to soften your heart toward truth, and to guard you from anything that might pull you further from His love. Most of all, we prayed that you would know—truly know—that God has not turned His back on you, even when it feels that way.

If in these days since you shared your burden, the Lord has spoken to you, drawn near to you, or shown you even a flicker of His presence, we would be overjoyed to hear it. Your praise report could encourage others who feel just as you have. But if the heaviness remains, if the questions still burn, and if faith still feels out of reach, please do not hesitate to share that with us again. We are not here to judge or to offer easy answers, but to stand with you in the tension, to pray with you in the waiting, and to remind you that God’s love is not earned by perfect faith—it is given freely, even in our doubt.

We will continue to lift you up, asking God to meet you right where you are. May He open your eyes to see Him not as a distant judge, but as a Father who runs toward His children, even when they are far off. May He restore what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and lead you back to a faith that is real, honest, and alive. We pray this in the powerful and compassionate name of Jesus.

Luckily I have left the faith as Christianity and Jesus is a hoax and firm on this decision. When I was in the faith he did not help so my decision to leave him also doesn't matter. And I must rebuke that Jesus is real where it is fake and caused a lot of trouble so he is unsuitable.
