Humble Servant of All
First off praise God for protecting me this Halloween. My question is will God show me mercy if I ask him? My ### had a dream that we were being chased by a lion and I’m worried it means divine judgement.

We rejoice with you in giving thanks to our Heavenly Father for His protection over you this Halloween—a time when darkness is so often celebrated, yet God’s light shines even brighter over His children. His hand of preservation is a testament to His faithfulness, and we praise Him for watching over you with love and care.

Now, to your question: *Will God show you mercy if you ask Him?* The answer is a resounding **yes**, for Scripture declares in **Lamentations 3:22-23 (WEB)**, *"It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassions don’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness."* God’s mercy is not earned—it is freely given to those who humbly seek Him. **1 John 1:9 (WEB)** assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* His mercy is boundless, His forgiveness complete when we come to Him with a repentant heart.

As for the dream of being chased by a lion, we must test its meaning against Scripture, not fear. Lions in the Bible often symbolize both danger and divine protection. **1 Peter 5:8 (WEB)** warns, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* Yet, **Proverbs 19:12 (WEB)** reminds us, *"The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass."* If this dream has left you unsettled, we encourage you to seek God’s face in prayer, asking Him for wisdom and discernment. Dreams can sometimes reflect spiritual battles or even the enemy’s attempts to instill fear—but **2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB)** declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."*

If there is any unconfessed sin in your life, now is the time to bring it before the Lord. His mercy is greater than any judgment, and His desire is always to restore and redeem. **Ezekiel 18:23 (WEB)** says, *"‘Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked?’ says the Lord Yahweh; ‘and not rather that he should return from his way and live?’"* Turn to Him with all your heart, and trust that His love casts out all fear (**1 John 4:18**).

Let us pray for you:

*Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before Your throne of grace, thanking You for Your protection and mercy that never fails. Lord, if there is any fear or uncertainty lingering from this dream, we ask that You replace it with Your perfect peace. Reveal to them any area of their life that needs repentance, and grant them the courage to surrender it fully to You. Remind them that Your mercy triumphs over judgment (**James 2:13**), and that in Christ, they are more than conquerors (**Romans 8:37**). Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let them walk in the confidence of Your unfailing love. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.*

Stand firm in the truth that God’s mercy is yours for the asking. Seek Him diligently, walk in obedience, and trust that He is working all things for your good (**Romans 8:28**). If the enemy is trying to bring condemnation or fear, rebuke him in Jesus’ name and cling to the promise that *"there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus"* (**Romans 8:1**). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and let His Word be your anchor.

We're so glad you're safe and protected this Halloween, and we join you in praising God for His faithfulness! Your question about God's mercy is one that's close to our hearts, and we want to assure you that God is indeed merciful. As it's written in Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is because of the Lord’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." God's mercy is not something we earn, but a gift He freely gives to those who humbly seek Him. In 1 John 1:9, we're promised, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Now, about that dream. While it's important not to live in fear, it's also wise to seek God's wisdom and discernment. Dreams can sometimes reflect spiritual battles or the enemy's attempts to instill fear. But remember, God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). If there's any unconfessed sin in your life, now's the time to bring it before the Lord. His mercy is greater than any judgment, and His desire is always to restore and redeem, as Ezekiel 18:23 tells us, "Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked... and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?"

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to lift our voices together in thanksgiving for God’s protection over you during what can be such a spiritually dark time of year. His covering is a testament to His faithfulness, and we rejoice with you in His watchful care.

Your question touches on the very heart of the Gospel—God’s mercy is not something we earn but a gift He freely gives when we come to Him with a repentant and seeking heart. The Scriptures assure us in Lamentations 3:22-23 that *"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning."* If you are asking Him in sincerity, you can trust that He hears you and will respond according to His perfect will and love for you.

As for the dream you mentioned, we understand how unsettling it can feel when our spirits are stirred by such vivid imagery. Let us remind you that while God can speak through dreams, He also calls us to test every spirit and every vision against His Word (1 John 4:1). A lion in Scripture can symbolize many things—sometimes judgment, but also the protective nature of Christ Himself, who is called the *Lion of Judah* (Revelation 5:5). We encourage you to bring this dream before the Lord in prayer, asking Him for clarity and peace. If fear or confusion lingers, we stand with you in praying against any spiritual attack and declare that *"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind"* (2 Timothy 1:7).

If the Lord has brought you peace or revelation since you first shared this request, we would love to hear your praise report and give glory to God together. If you are still seeking His guidance or feeling unsettled, please update us so we can continue to lift you up in agreement. We are here to walk with you in faith, trusting that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).

May you rest in the assurance that His mercy is greater than any fear, and His love deeper than any shadow of doubt. We are praying for you, that the Lord will fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding and guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
