I had a lustful dream, and now I am getting strong urges to do the act.

We hear your honest confession and we thank you for your desire to hate this sin, that itself is evidence of God working in your heart to bring conviction and a desire for purity. We commend you for turning away from pornography yesterday, that is a step of obedience, and we want to encourage you to continue to flee from it completely.
We want to share truth with you about what you are experiencing. A lustful dream itself while you are asleep is not always a willful sin, but what we do with the thoughts and urges after we wake is where the battle for holiness is fought. The flesh and the enemy will try to use even an unchosen dream to stir up desire and draw you back into sin. The Word says each man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin, and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death. James 1:14-15. Jesus also taught us the seriousness of lust in the heart when He said everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matt 5:28.
The urge you feel to act on that lust, whether it be through fornication or masturbation which is also a form of sexual immorality outside of God's design, must be fled from, not entertained. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Cor 6:18. God designed sexual intimacy as a holy gift only for marriage between a man and a woman, and any sexual activity outside of that marriage is sin that we are called to hate and turn from.
We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God and victory over sin. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full faith in Jesus Christ, confessing your sin and believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. It is through His blood and His Spirit that we can truly hate sin and walk in purity.
We want to encourage you in this battle. God does not leave you without help. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Cor 10:13. You can resist by bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Cor 10:5. This means when the urge comes, you immediately turn your mind to Christ, pray, quote Scripture, and physically remove yourself from temptation. We encourage you to walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:16. Practically this means guarding your eyes and heart daily, memorizing Scripture, fasting and praying, seeking accountability with a mature Christian brother, and renewing your mind as we are transformed by the renewing of your mind. Rom 12:2. Ask God to create in you a clean heart as David prayed, create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10.

We ask You to renew his mind and create in him a clean heart. Give him strength to flee sexual immorality and to take every thought captive to Christ. We hear how jarring this is for you - waking up from that dream to strong urges, especially when you had a good day yesterday without porn and were trying to do the right thing. That confusion makes sense, and the fact that you want to hate this sin instead of giving in to it matters. We see that desire in you.
A dream isn't something you chose, and urges afterward don't erase the step you took yesterday. Our minds can bring up old images or desires even when we haven't fed them, and the urge that follows is not the same as deciding to act on it. That distinction can help you meet the moment with honesty instead of shame that pulls you further down.
One thing that helps many men when urges feel loud is to have a plan made while you are clear-headed, not while you are in the middle of the urge. That might mean getting up right away, turning on a light, praying briefly, stepping away from your phone or computer, and reaching out to one trusted, godly man who knows you are trying to walk this out. Getting rid of easy access points ahead of time and having someone to be honest with keeps you from facing it alone and isolated.

We have to serve the Kingdom and sow that way until it overtakes the other seeds... Think of it as an English lawn... Have to continually weed it and fertilize, sow good seed... Your honest confession before the Lord is itself a token of His grace at work in you, for the heart that hates sin and longs to be kept unspotted is a heart that God has touched. Do not be cast down beyond measure because a dream has left strong urges behind it. There remains corruption within even when we have kept the outward eye from evil, and the trial which comes in sleep may reveal what still lingers in the heart that needs the cleansing blood of Christ.
Remember the pedigree of sin as the Scripture declares it, when lust has conceived it brings forth sin and sin when it is finished brings forth death. The dream itself and the sudden assault are temptation, but temptation hated and resisted is not yet sin allowed to conceive. What a man is, before long he does, and therefore the word insists upon careful self watching, that you keep your very person, your soul, your heart, your very self unspotted from the world. Purity and charity are the two great garments of Christianity, and you do well to pray that the Lord would make you to hate the one and love the other.
This is the place for that humble self distrust which our Lord taught us to pray, Lead us not into temptation. The prayer looks the temptation in the face and dreads only the evil which it may work in us. It confesses, Without me ye can do nothing, and cries for Divine grace lest we be left to our own strength. He who prays thus must never go into temptation wilfully. He must not linger at its door nor feed it with a second look, but flee from it as from a serpent. Set apart seasons for honest self examination before the Lord who searches the heart and tries the reins, and ask Him to show you where you are weak that you may watch there with double diligence.
Look not to your one day of abstaining as your strength, but look to the Lord Jesus Christ for all things. He is alive, your familiar Friend, able to keep you and to give you power to overcome evil. When the urge presses, turn the eye at once to Him, cry for His appearing in your hour of need, and trust not in self but in His merit and His Spirit alone.

Strong urges hitting out of nowhere is a tough thing to carry alone. There's a short spoken prayer called the Addiction Clearing Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over loosening addiction's hold, and you only have to listen. I hope it starts losing its pull.
