I don't trust the people lied to me

I don't trust the people who lied to my face because God will expose them out to be the truth and owes me an apology.

We hear the pain and betrayal in your words, and our hearts ache with you. Being lied to, especially by those we trusted, cuts deep, leaving wounds that only God can fully heal. You are right to feel hurt, and it is understandable that trust has been broken. Yet we must also remember that while God does expose lies and bring truth to light, our response must align with His Word.

The Bible tells us, "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord" (Romans 12:19 WEB). It is not our place to demand apologies or hold onto bitterness, for that only poisons our own hearts. Instead, we are called to forgive, even when it feels impossible, because Christ first forgave us. "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you" (Colossians 3:13 WEB).

We must also examine our own hearts, have we placed our ultimate trust in people, rather than in God? People will fail us, but the Lord never will. "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans" (Psalm 118:8 WEB). If we build our security on the faithfulness of others, we will always be disappointed. But if we anchor ourselves in Christ, we will find peace even in betrayal.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has been deeply hurt by lies and broken trust. Lord, You see every injustice, and You promise to bring truth to light. We ask that You would heal this wound, replacing bitterness with Your peace and anger with forgiveness. Help them to release the desire for revenge and to trust in Your justice. Father, remind them that their worth is not found in the words or actions of others, but in Your unchanging love. Strengthen their faith, that they would place their trust in You alone. Give them the grace to forgive, even as You have forgiven them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to bring this pain to the Lord daily, surrendering it afresh each time the hurt resurfaces. Pray for those who wronged you, not that they would face punishment, but that their hearts would be softened and that they would come to know Christ. This is not easy, but it is the path to true freedom. "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head" (Romans 12:20 WEB). This does not mean we seek revenge, but that our kindness may lead them to repentance.

Lastly, if you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the salvation He offers. Only through Him can we find true forgiveness, healing, and eternal life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). If you would like to surrender your life to Christ, we would be honored to pray with you and guide you in that decision. There is no greater hope than knowing Him.

Being lied to, especially by someone who looked you in the eye while doing it, cuts deep. It’s not just the betrayal of the moment; it leaves you scanning every face, wondering who else will prove false. The longing for God to set things right and for the truth to come out is entirely understandable. It can feel like you’re owed a clearing of your name and a direct apology before you can breathe freely again.

What we’ve seen, though, is that waiting for someone else to own what they did can keep the hurt on a slow simmer inside us. We might fixate on what they owe, and that fixation can end up costing us our own peace. There’s a way to set down that burden without excusing the lie or pretending it didn’t matter: we can hand the demand for an apology over to God and ask Him to deal justly in His time. That doesn’t mean the offense was small or that trust must be hastily rebuilt; it means we refuse to let the liar’s choices continue to dictate our emotional weather.

One small step that could help is this: in a quiet moment, take a sheet of paper and write out exactly what you wish they would say to you. Be specific. Then, as an act of releasing the matter, place that paper before the Lord, maybe in your Bible or on a windowsill, and tell Him, “I trust You with this. I won’t demand the apology anymore. I’ll let You carry the weight of justice.” It’s a tangible way to begin loosening the grip of the injury.

We’ll pray with you now.

Lord, You see every word spoken in secret, every lie, and every wound it leaves behind. Bring truth into the light in Your perfect timing, and shield this heart from bitterness while they wait. Heal the raw places where trust was shattered, and grant the calm assurance that You are their defender. Give them wisdom about whom to trust, and restore their ability to believe in goodness again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a bitter draught when those we trusted deal falsely with us, and the wound smarts long after. You say God will expose them and owes you an apology. Beware, lest your demand for vindication from men turns your eyes away from the Vindicator who alone can heal your spirit. God is not your debtor; if He marked iniquities, who could stand? And what if He should demand an apology from you for every hard thought and proud word? Cast yourself upon His mercy in Christ, for there alone is true refuge.

David knew the anguish of betrayal and the sting of his own sin, yet he cried, “Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones which Thou hast broken may rejoice.” The Lord does break our bones when we stray, but He also binds them up. If you look too long at the liars, you will only deepen your own breach. The broken wall of your peace will let in every wild beast of resentment and despair. Instead, hear what God the Lord will speak; He speaks peace to His people, even when men speak lies. Will you let the falsehood of others drive you from the sweet society of the Saviour?

You are waiting for an apology to trust again. But faith in Christ is not built upon the apologies of men; it is built upon His blood and righteousness. Come, just as you are, with your sense of wrong and your heartache, and trust Him who was betrayed for you. As you look to Him, the wrongs of time will grow strangely small in the light of His eternal love. Buy the truth at any cost, the truth that you are a sinner needing grace as much as any liar, and let it set you free from this prison of expectation. Leave the exposure of others’ sin in the hands of the Almighty, whose ways are unsearchable and whose timing is perfect. It may be that He is allowing this trial to teach you a deeper dependence upon Himself alone.

Determine, then, to follow Christ without a single “but.” Cast off the demand that others make your path smooth, and say, “Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.” In His presence, the need for human apologies fades, for He Himself is your exceeding great reward.

You have suffered a wound, and it is fresh. When a friend or neighbor speaks falsehood to our face, the sting cuts deep, for trust is a sacred thing, and to see it trampled upon kindles a fire within the breast. I do not dismiss your pain; it is real, and the Lord Himself knows the venom of betrayal, for one of His own twelve, one who dipped bread in the same dish, sold Him with a kiss. Consider how He bore it: He foreknew the treachery, yet went forth to meet it, not with curses, but with a word that might have shamed the traitor into repentance. He did not demand an apology for His own sake; He entrusted all to the Father who judges justly.

You say God will expose them and that they owe you an apology. Take care, lest in clutching this demand you unknowingly chain your own soul. The desire to see another humbled can easily become a secret love of iniquity that harms you more than the original lie. What profit is it if, while waiting for their exposure, you yourself are consumed by bitterness? The Lord loves righteousness, but He also mingles mercy with justice; He calls us to show great consideration even when we suffer wrong. For your own soul’s safety, release the feverish expectation of an apology. The one true need is the excellency of your own soul, which alone can escort you safely through this life and into the Kingdom. If you wrap yourself in resentment, you shut out the light that shines for all. Do not willfully close the eyes of your mind; rather, examine whether any root of greed, pride, or anger gave those lies a foothold in your heart, and root it out.

As for the liars, be not troubled that their wickedness seems hidden. Do you think the God who filled the earth with courts and judgment seats, who sees every secret transaction, will Himself make no account of justice? His righteousness is as the mountains of God; nothing escapes His eye. Their own actions already bear witness against them, and they carry the punishment of an evil conscience. It may be that His gentle patience, like the Master’s before Judas, is giving them space to turn. Let them be. To demand an apology is to set yourself as judge, but we are all debtors before the throne. Instead, pray for them, not that they be exposed for your vindication, but that they be enlightened and delivered from the madness that made them betray truth. That is the harder path, but it leads to life. Cling to righteousness for its own sake, and you will find that no human apology can compare to the peace of a conscience kept pure.

We want you to know how much we appreciate the trust you’ve placed in us by sharing your heart and allowing us to stand with you in prayer. The pain of betrayal is deep, and we have lifted your request before the Lord, asking Him to heal the wounds left by those lies and to restore your peace. Scripture reminds us that God is a God of justice, and we have prayed that He would bring truth to light in His perfect timing—whether through conviction, repentance, or His own righteous exposure of deceit.

If the Lord has already moved in this situation—if you’ve seen His hand at work, if truth has surfaced, or if your heart has found unexpected healing—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a source of strength for others walking through similar struggles.

If, however, the burden still weighs heavily on you, and you don’t yet see the resolution you’ve prayed for, we invite you to post this request again. We’re not going anywhere; we’ll continue to intercede on your behalf, asking God to guard your heart, grant you wisdom, and bring the justice and restoration only He can provide.

Above all, we pray that you would feel the Father’s nearness in this season. May He remind you of His unfailing love, His faithfulness to defend the oppressed, and His promise to work all things together for your good. Keep seeking Him, trusting that He sees every injustice and will not leave it unanswered. We stand with you, believing in His perfect timing and His perfect justice.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
