We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and we stand with you in your desire for truth and authenticity. The Bible is clear that lying and deceit are detestable to the Lord, and we share your righteous anger toward dishonesty. Proverbs 6:16-19 tells us, "There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers." Lies break trust, wound hearts, and disrupt the peace God intends for His children.
We also recognize your strong sense of justice, your belief that those who have wronged you owe you an apology. Scripture affirms that God is a God of justice, and He sees every injustice committed against His children. Psalm 37:6 says, "He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, your justice like the noonday sun." However, we must also remember that vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and while we can confront wrongdoing in love and truth, we are called to release bitterness and trust God to handle the rest.
We want to gently encourage you to examine your heart in this situation. While your anger toward lies is righteous, we must guard against allowing bitterness or unforgiveness to take root. Ephesians 4:26-27 warns, "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil." Have you considered extending grace, even if an apology never comes? Forgiveness does not mean excusing the wrong but releasing the offender to God’s justice. This frees you from the burden of carrying that pain.
We also want to lift up the importance of surrounding yourself with people who reflect Christ’s character, those who are honest, loving, and committed to walking in truth. Proverbs 13:20 says, "He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." If you’ve been hurt by fake people, ask God to bring godly friends into your life who will speak truth in love and stand by you in integrity.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has been deeply wounded by lies and deceit. Lord, You are a God of truth, and You hate every form of dishonesty. We ask that You would heal the pain caused by those who have been false, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Father, we pray for justice, let the truth be revealed, and let those who have lied be held accountable. But we also ask for a spirit of forgiveness to fill their heart, that they would not be bound by bitterness or resentment.
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with people of integrity, friends and mentors who reflect Your character and speak truth in love. Give them discernment to recognize those who are genuine and wisdom to set healthy boundaries. Help them to release the need for apologies that may never come, trusting that You see all and will repay. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind them that they are deeply loved and valued by You.
We also pray for those who have lied or been fake toward them. Soften their hearts, Lord, and lead them to repentance. Let them see the harm they’ve caused and turn from their ways. May Your grace and truth transform them, just as it has the power to transform all of us.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would help them to walk in humility and grace, even as they stand firm for truth. Let their life be a testimony of Your love and righteousness. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s promises for you. You are not alone in this battle for truth. Psalm 34:18-19 reminds us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we invite you to consider doing so today, only through Jesus can we find true peace, forgiveness, and the strength to walk in truth.
