I don't like people who lie to me for no reason.

Godispowerful

Servant of All
I've known people who lied to me for no reason before. God knows, many people owe me apologies for what they've done. God isn't messing around with me because He will make them apologize. I've been working so hard through so much. God knows that I'm not playing and makes them expose their truth when I read their text. That's why I always stay true, tell the truth, and make them wake up, and it's really hard to listen to what I have said, because it is the truth of how I feel. They have no idea how much I have been through.

We hear the pain and weariness in your words and we grieve with you over how deeply betrayal and dishonesty have wounded you. It is right to hate lying, because God hates lying. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. Proverbs 12:22 You shall not steal. You shall not lie. You shall not deceive one another. Leviticus 19:11 Therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Ephesians 4:25 We commend you for wanting to stay true and to tell the truth, even when it is hard and even when others do not want to listen. God sees all you have been through and how hard you have worked through so much, and He is near to those who are brokenhearted. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18

We also want to gently speak truth to your heart about what you have said regarding apologies and God making people expose themselves. We understand the longing for justice and for those who hurt you to own what they did. Yet Scripture warns us not to hold onto a demand for apologies as a condition for our peace. Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19 God is just and He will deal with every lie and every wrong in His perfect time and way, but He does not promise to force every person who has wronged us to come and apologize to us in this life. If we wait for their apology to forgive, we can become trapped in bitterness. The Word tells us, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15 We encourage you to release the debt they owe you into God's hands, not because what they did was okay, but because you are entrusting justice to Him and freeing your own heart from the poison of resentment. See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God, that no root of bitterness springs up to trouble you and thereby many be defiled. Hebrews 12:15

We also notice that you speak of God but you do not mention Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no access to the Father except through Him. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is only through faith in Jesus, His death for our sins and His resurrection, that we are forgiven and can truly forgive others. If you have not already, we urge you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to confess your sins to Him and to receive His forgiveness and grace to walk in truth and love.

We encourage you to continue speaking the truth, but to do so in love. Speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ. Ephesians 4:15 Truth without love can sound harsh, and love without truth is not truly loving. Ask the Lord to help you share how you feel honestly while also showing grace, and to help you know when to speak and when to entrust the matter to Him in prayer. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You know every lie spoken against them, every burden they have carried, and every hard season they have worked through. You see their heart that wants to be true and to honor You. Lord, heal the wounds that dishonesty has left, comfort their broken heart, and guard them from bitterness. Help them to release every person who owes them an apology into Your hands, to forgive as You in Christ have forgiven them, and to trust Your perfect justice. Teach them to walk in truth with love and gentleness, and to find their vindication and peace in You alone. Draw them closer to Jesus, that they may know Him as Way, Truth, and Life, and experience the freedom and salvation that comes only through His name. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and give them rest. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear how painful it has been to feel lied to and unseen after working so hard through so much. It makes sense you would long for the truth to come out and for people to own what they did.

Waiting for apologies that we are owed can keep the hurt alive in us. Even when an apology would be right, our peace does not have to wait on someone else to give it. One way we have seen people find a little more freedom is to separate the decision to release the debt from the slower process of feelings catching up. The decision is a quiet choice before God to let Him carry the justice, while the emotions may still need time and prayer to soften.

It might help to notice when you are rereading messages to find the lie, and gently pause, step away, and bring that ache to God honestly in that moment, or share it with one trusted steady person who knows you well.

We are praying for you.

Father, You see all this friend has carried and how much they value truth. We ask You to bring rest to their heart, guard them from bitterness, and show them Your nearness and care. Give wisdom for relationships and peace that does not depend on others making things right. In Jesus name, amen.

It is a painful thing to be lied to, and to carry the wound of being deceived by those you trusted. To feel that you have labored hard through much suffering, and that others owe you a debt of apology, is a heavy burden to bear. The Lord sees what you have been through, He knows the truth of every word spoken in secret and every text that has exposed a lie, and nothing is hidden from His sight.

You are not alone in this grief of betrayal. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself knew what it was to be betrayed by a friend, to have falsehood and treachery pressed to His very lips. Scripture was fulfilled in His betrayal, and in that He became able to sympathize with us in every point. He drank the bitter cup of being lied about and forsaken, that He might be a faithful High Priest to those who suffer the same. He knows the bitterness you have tasted.

Yet the gospel turns our eyes from what others owe us to what we ourselves owe to God. There is a greater debt than any apology owed to us, and that is our own debt of sin before a holy God. The good news is that there is forgiveness with Him. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, surprising in its freeness, complete in its reach, and eternal in its power. It is not found in our own truthfulness or in our hard striving, but only through Jesus Christ who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. Whatever your past has been, however hard your heart has felt, there is forgiveness with God at this moment for all who will come and put their trust in Christ. His blood has made propitiation, and He promises oblivion to the whole debt of those who believe.

And because we have received such full and free forgiveness, we are called to a joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us. One effect of truly feeling the bitterness of our own sin against Christ is that it takes away bitterness against our fellow men. When we see how much we offended God and how graciously He has forgiven us, we say, after this I must be gentle and tender and forgiving toward others. Somebody has offended me, but how much I offended God. To wait for others to apologize before we can have peace will keep the soul in bondage. God will deal justly with all men in His own time, but He calls you to release that debt into His hands and to find your rest not in their confession, but in His forgiveness.

To stay true and to love the truth is right and good. Continue to speak the truth, but speak it in love, with a spirit made sweet by the sweetness of Christ. That bitterness you have felt can, by grace, make Christ very sweet to you and take away the power of the world's injuries. Bring your wounds and your weariness directly under the eyes of Jesus, as the man on his mattress was laid before Him, hoping and expecting both forgiveness and healing. Tell Him plainly how you feel, ask Him for the forgiveness you need, and ask Him for grace to forgive those who have lied to you, even before they ever say they are sorry.

May the Lord give you that forgiveness now as you trust His Son, and may He heal your heart and make it tender toward others. I pray that He will lift this heavy burden, give you rest from the labor you have carried so long, and fill you with His peace which does not depend on the apologies of men, but on the sure mercy of God in Christ.

There is forgiveness with Him. Look to Jesus and live.
