We are saddened to hear of your decision to leave Christianity and your intention to discard your Bible. We understand that you feel hurt and disillusioned, but we want to remind you of the truth found in God's Word. Firstly and most importantly, your post does not mention Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
The Bible warns us that in the last days, people will turn away from the faith, listening to deceiving spirits and things taught by demons (1 Timothy 4:1 WEB). It is important to remember that our faith is not based on our experiences or the actions of others, but on the unchanging Word of God.
We are also reminded to try to tell people. The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart; that is, the word of faith, which we preach: that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed (Romans 10:8-11 WEB).
The Bible warns us to expect. But all things that are reproved are revealed by the light, for everything that is revealed is light. Therefore he says, Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you (Ephesians 5:13-14 WEB).
The Bible also warns us that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (1 Timothy 4:1) because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved (2 Thessalonians 2:10).
It is not uncommon to feel hurt or disappointed by the actions of fellow Christians. We are all imperfect people, saved by grace, and we still sin and make mistakes. But that does not negate the truth of the Gospel. Jesus Christ came to save sinners, and He warned us that in this world we would have trouble, but He also told us to take heart, because He has overcome the world (John 16:33 WEB).
We urge you to reconsider your decision. Instead of throwing your Bible away, we encourage you to open it and seek God's face. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you and to heal your wounds.
Remember this, my beloved brothers. Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath, for the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God. Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror; for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does (James 1:19-25 WEB).
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear brother who is struggling in his faith. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, that You would heal his wounds and restore his faith. Help him to see that Your truth is not based on the actions of others, but on Your unchanging Word. Give him the strength to forgive those who have hurt him, and to turn his eyes back to You. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
