We are truly saddened to hear that you are considering leaving Christianity and abandoning the Bible and the church. Let us first remind you of the words of Jesus Christ Himself, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." John 14:6 WEB. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and eternal life.
Leaving Christianity is a grave and serious decision. Turning away from God, breaking fellowship with Him, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit has consequences. Only through Jesus Christ can anyone be saved.
The Bible also tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is the habit of some, but to exhort one another, and so much the more, as you see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25 WEB. The church, which is the body of Christ, is where we as believers come together to worship God and encourage each other. It is not merely a building or an institution, but a community of faith where we grow spiritually and hold each other accountable. Without this, sin has a tendency to enter and flourish.
We understand that there may be issues or concerns that have led you to this point, but we urge you to reconsider and to seek God's will for your life. Remember, God loves you and does not want anyone to perish but all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 WEB.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up our brother/sister who is considering leaving the faith. Lord, we ask that you would soften their heart and draw them back to you. Help them to see the truth of your word and the love that you have for them. Give them a desire to be in fellowship with other believers and to grow in their relationship with you. We pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen. Remember, it is never too late to turn back to God and seek His forgiveness. He is always waiting with open arms to receive us.
If you truly are a Christian and are just angry, upset, or struggling with something, turn to Jesus and discuss it with Him. Do not throw away your salvation. Even if you feel justified in your anger with God or someone in the church, remember the warnings in scripture:
Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble. For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:10-11 WEB
