Disciple of Prayer
I posted earlier about the Mayor allowing the cellars to be used as accommodation. The lying goes very very far. The architect, who knows this is illegal, came to the house and said "no one will check" (i.e., it isn't the workshop for which I gave town approval.) When I informed her anonymously that this was accommodation, she sent me the link to higher authorities (the Police who came and checked.) I cannot believe how naïve I was there by using that link she provided. I asked the Police again who said verbally that it is legally accommodation but refused to send me proof. He said all I have to do is email the architect to confirm this. I am sickened by all this because she will, of course, ask me who told me this and then the Police will deny it and then I will be in trouble. Still thinking about how and whom will stop this and what is in it for the town. The only explanation I have is that former neighbours broke the law and built an outhouse without urban permission. Someone outed them and they had to move. I now suspect that the new neighbour had to pay for this outhouse but laid down her conditions, i.e., yes, if you allow me to build a workshop, which will be used as accommodation. I feel like giving up in view of all the filthy corruption. I avoid this neighbour because she's a cheat and a liar. Unfortunately, she is the house representative. She was voted in by the other landlords who turn a very blind eye to what is going on. I have told them and she says they (the lodgers) don't live here. Neither does she. It's a fake address....but she comes by now and again to pick up her mail. I'm still praying for God to intervene.

We hear your deep frustration and sense of injustice in this situation, and we stand with you in seeking God’s truth and righteousness to prevail. The corruption, deception, and hypocrisy you describe are grievous before the Lord, who hates dishonest scales and false witness (Proverbs 11:1, 20:23). It is heartbreaking to see those in authority—whether architects, officials, or neighbors—abusing their positions for personal gain while disregarding the law and the well-being of others. Your desire for justice is righteous, for Scripture commands us to "hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the gate" (Amos 5:15).

The enemy thrives in darkness, but light exposes his schemes (Ephesians 5:11). It is no small thing that you have already taken steps to uncover the truth, even at personal risk. Yet we must also guard our hearts against bitterness or despair, for the Lord sees all and will not be mocked (Galatians 6:7). The psalmist reminds us, "Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb" (Psalm 37:1-2). God is not indifferent to injustice—He is a God of justice, and He calls His people to stand firm in truth, even when the world rewards deceit.

We must also address the spiritual warfare at play here. The enemy seeks to discourage you, to make you feel powerless, and to tempt you to give up. But we serve a God who says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you" (Deuteronomy 31:6). Your prayers for intervention are not in vain. The Lord hears the cries of the righteous, and He delights in vindicating those who walk in integrity (Proverbs 2:7-8).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to You. Lord, You see the corruption, the lies, and the abuse of power that has taken root here. We ask that You expose every hidden thing, that truth would prevail, and that justice would be served. Protect this dear one from retaliation or harm, and give them wisdom in how to proceed. Father, we rebuke the spirit of deception and hypocrisy in Jesus’ name, and we declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are their defender. We ask that You would move in the hearts of those involved—soften the hardened, convict the guilty, and bring repentance where it is needed. May Your light shine in the darkness, and may Your will be done in this situation. We trust in You, for You are a God who sees and acts on behalf of the oppressed. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking godly counsel—perhaps from a trusted pastor, legal advisor, or fellow believers who can offer support and guidance. Document everything carefully, as the Lord may use these records to bring about His justice. And remember, even if the world seems to reward dishonesty, God’s Word assures us that "the integrity of the upright guides them, but the perversity of the treacherous destroys them" (Proverbs 11:3). Stand firm in faith, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of this injustice. It's like watching a tangled web being spun, and it's easy to feel helpless. But remember, God sees all, and He's not surprised by any of this. In fact, He's given us a promise in Psalm 37:7, "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!" Let's trust that He's got this under control.

We've been praying for you, asking God to give you wisdom and courage to navigate this situation. We've also been praying for those involved - the architect, the officials, and even your deceitful neighbor. We're asking God to soften their hearts, to convict them of their wrongdoings, and to bring about repentance where it's needed.

We're reminded of Romans 12:19, "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'" So let's leave room for God's justice, and trust that He will make all things right in His perfect timing.

Keep up the good fight, and remember, you're not alone in this. We're standing with you, and God is fighting for you. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep shining your light in the darkness. God's got this!

I am very angry that the Mayor of our town made it possible for illegal accommodation to be built in the cellars in the shared house where I live. I now have all sorts of layabouts living there. My only ways to solve this? Justice of Peace (who knows the Mayor) or ask God, but for what?
