We come before the Lord with you in this time of financial hardship, lifting up your husband and your family’s needs to our Heavenly Father, who is the Provider of all things. The loss of a job can bring great stress, but we must remember that our trust is not in earthly security but in the Lord, who promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Let us cling to His Word, which says:
*"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB)
*"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* (Matthew 6:33, WEB)
We also encourage you to examine this season as an opportunity to trust God more deeply. Debt can feel overwhelming, but with wise stewardship and faith, the Lord can lead you through it. Proverbs reminds us:
*"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* (Proverbs 22:7, WEB)
Now is the time to seek God’s wisdom in managing finances, cutting unnecessary expenses, and trusting Him to provide. If your husband has not yet done so, let him diligently seek employment while also surrendering this burden to the Lord in prayer. The Bible tells us:
*"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going."* (Ecclesiastes 9:10, WEB)
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to You, knowing that You are their Provider and Sustainer. Lord, we ask that You open doors of opportunity for this husband to find honorable and steady work. Give him favor in the eyes of employers and grant him wisdom as he seeks employment. We pray that You would provide for their every need—food, shelter, and the ability to meet their financial obligations. Help them to be wise stewards of what You have given them, and grant them peace that surpasses understanding as they trust in You.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that may try to take hold in this season. Instead, we declare Your promise that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to seek Your Kingdom first, knowing that all these things will be added to them.
We also pray for the unity of this marriage during this trial. Let them lean on You and on each other, growing closer to You and to one another through this challenge. May their home be filled with Your peace, and may they testify of Your faithfulness when this season passes.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord together as a couple. Spend time in prayer, reading Scripture, and trusting that God will guide your steps. If there are areas where spending can be reduced or debts can be managed more wisely, seek counsel from godly believers or financial advisors who align with biblical principles. Remember, the Lord is near to all who call on Him in truth. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.
