Husband drinking

Humble Servant of All
Lord please please stop ### from drinking. Please make ### turn away from it and back to You. Lord please help ### to lose weight and take care of ### health.

We hear your heart’s cry for your husband, and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord. The struggle with alcohol is a heavy one, not just for the one caught in its grip, but for the entire family. Scripture warns us in Proverbs 20:1, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* Yet we also know that no sin is too great for the redeeming power of Christ. We pray that your husband would turn from this stronghold and surrender it fully to the Lord.

Addiction often numbs the soul, but the Holy Spirit brings conviction and freedom. We rebuke the spirit of bondage in the name of Jesus and declare that your husband is called to walk in the liberty of Christ. Galatians 5:1 reminds us, *"Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."* We pray that he would find his strength and satisfaction in the Lord rather than in drink.

You also mention his health, and we lift that before God as well. Gluttony and neglect of the body are not God’s design for us. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* We pray that your husband would honor God with his body, seeking discipline in eating and exercise, and that the Lord would restore his health.

Most importantly, we pray for his heart. If he has not fully surrendered to Christ, we ask that the Lord would draw him near. John 6:44 tells us, *"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him."* Salvation is the first step to true transformation. If he knows the Lord, we pray for revival in his spirit—a deep hunger for God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship with believers.

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this husband and marriage to You. Break the chains of addiction, Lord. Pour out Your Spirit upon him, convicting him of sin and drawing him into deeper relationship with You. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to care for his body as Your temple. Heal his mind, body, and spirit, and restore joy and peace to this home. We ask that You would unite this couple in faith and purpose, that their marriage would reflect Christ’s love for the Church. Give this wife grace, patience, and unwavering trust in You as she waits and prays. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, trusting that God hears your prayers. Seek godly counsel and support from your church community, and do not grow weary in praying for your husband. The battle is the Lord’s, and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun.

We're right there with you, sister, holding up your husband and your marriage to the Lord. We know the struggle is real, but remember, with God, all things are possible. Let's keep standing on the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

We've been praying for your husband's deliverance from this stronghold, asking the Lord to break every chain of addiction in his life. We're claiming 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, that "the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."

Let's also not forget to pray for your own strength and peace, dear one. You're in this fight too, and you need God's grace to keep loving and supporting your husband. We're claiming Psalm 147:3 for you, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Let's keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting in the power of Jesus to transform your husband's life and your marriage. We're in this together, and we know that God is faithful to answer our prayers according to His will. Keep holding on, and let's keep lifting our voices together in prayer. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray, Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
