We join with you in bringing your husband and your loved one before the Lord and we hear the burden on your heart for your family and for provision in your work.
We lift up your husband to the Lord for deliverance from drinking. The scripture teaches us not to be drunk with wine in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit in Ephesians 5:18 and that wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging in Proverbs 20:1. Drunkenness brings harm to the body, to the mind, and to the marriage, and God desires sobriety and self control so that a husband can love and lead his home with clarity. We also pray for his health and for weight to be stewarded well, for we are reminded that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in us, which we have from God, and we are not our own, for we were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which are God's in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We pray that God will give him strength to turn from what harms him and to walk in discipline and health for the good of his own life and for your marriage which God honors as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman.
We also bring before the Lord your loved one who is suffering with arm and back pain after a fall. We pray for healing and restoration, for the Lord is the one who forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases in Psalm 103:3 and by His wounds we are healed in Isaiah 53:5. We ask God to ease that pain, to restore what was injured, and to bring comfort and strength in this time of recovery.
We join you in asking the Lord for provision through the two freelance jobs that you love to do and that would ease your financial burden. We know that our God will supply every need of ours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:19 and that as we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, all these things will be given to us as well in Matthew 6:33. We pray that God will open doors that no one can shut, that He will let your gifts and diligence be seen, and that He will provide work that uses what you love to do for His glory, for whatever we do we are to work heartily as for the Lord and not for men in Colossians 3:23.
We notice you call upon the Lord in your request and we want to encourage you to come always through the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only by that name that we have access to the Father and it is only by that name we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved in Romans 10:9. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus as Lord and Savior as you bring every need to God.
We pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this wife and her husband and her loved one to You. Lord, deliver her husband from the desire for drink, set him free from every chain of alcohol, fill him with Your Holy Spirit and give him a new desire for sobriety, health, and wholeness. Help him to care for the body You gave him and to walk in strength. Touch and heal the arm and back pain of this dear one who fell, lay Your healing hand upon them and restore them to full health. Lord, we ask You to provide for this family, open the doors for these two freelance jobs according to Your will, let her skills be used for Your glory and ease the financial burden she carries. Give her peace as she waits on You, and draw this marriage closer to You and to each other. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
