You seek a home with two bedrooms, a yard, and a garage before the month ends, and the time is short. The body needs shelter, and God our Father knows this. Yet the soul needs a far greater dwelling. Why then do you fret over the size of the rooms and the patch of grass, as though your life depended on these? The birds have nests and the foxes holes, but the Son of Man had nowhere to lay His head. If we have food and covering, let us be content. The narrow way leads to Paradise, not the broad one that is lined with spacious houses. So do your part: search diligently as the merchant prepares his vessel, but do not set your heart on a garage or a yard. If the Lord gives a smaller place, receive it with thanksgiving, for with little we may reap the same reward as those who have much, and often a greater one. The same God who clothes the grass of the field will not leave you without a roof. Use this world as not using it, and remember that your true home is in heaven. I pray that you find a dwelling, yes, but more that you find rest for your soul in Christ, who makes every hovel a palace when He dwells within.

You are staring down a deadline, and every passing day tightens the pressure. The end of the month feels like a wall rushing toward you, and finding that two-bedroom home with a yard and garage by August 1 seems impossible. When the clock runs down, it is tempting to say, “Lord, it is too late.” That cry is not new. Martha and Mary sent word to Jesus while their brother lay sick, yet He stayed where He was. By the time He arrived, Lazarus had been dead four days. In their anguish they said, “If you had been here, my brother would not have died.” They thought Jesus missed the deadline. But the deadline was never the point. He raised Lazarus in a way no one could deny, showing that God’s timing overrules every calendar.

Right now, you need a provision you cannot manufacture. The Scriptures show us something remarkable: God always leaves room for His own supernatural hand. In the law, leprosy was incurable by any human means, yet God gave instructions for the day a leper would be cleansed, making space for a miracle He might choose to perform. He was not boxed in by the sickness. In the same way, He is not boxed in by a housing market or a short timeframe. He can open a door nobody knew existed, or make a way where all the normal paths seem shut. Your part is to look in faith toward the provision He will establish, much like the Israelites in the wilderness had to look at the bronze serpent to live. There was no medical explanation; it was simply trusting God’s covenant promise.

That does not mean you stop searching or making practical efforts. But you carry those efforts before the Lord without panic, because His provision is not tied to your ability to scrape something together. He knows you need a specific kind of place, and He knows the date stamped on the calendar. Bring that need to Him with open hands. And as you pray, remember this: the same God who provided His own Son to deal with your greatest need, the forgiveness of your sin, is not going to abandon you in your daily cares. If He made the ultimate provision for your soul through the cross of Jesus Christ, will He not also provide a roof over your head? The cross is the guarantee of His care. Even when He seems quiet, even when the days slip by and nothing changes, He is not late. Trust Him to work in a way that upholds His name and meets your need, even at what looks like the last possible moment.
