Horrible Fall Break (kinda)

Helloooo there, people. Last Thursday, I got this cough. It was just a little cough, but it got worse and worse and worse until Tuesday I had this terribly painful choking/coughing thing in the shower and almost passed out. I'm a 10th grader and my fall break was this week and I had this whole thing planned out to get closer to God! What in the world?! Things got worse and I ended up going to the hospital on Wednesday. I. WAS. DIAGNOSED. WITH. WHOOPING. COUGH. This is crazy. Anyway, we came back home and I tried to rest as much as I could. I did not forget about my goal of getting closer to God, but I was having a really hard time with it. So, I'm dealing with Whooping Cough and trying to get closer to God at the same time, which is really tough. I saw some videos, though, this morning that totally changed my perspective. Just because I'm going through this right now doesn't mean there's not a reason. I've been praying as hard as I can in the MIGHTY name of JESUS, but nothing really has changed. Please pray for ### to get through this, have the strength from God to overcome this, and for God's will to be done in my life. Thank you so much. My life is crazy skapwpelsldmfnrbwjalal

We lift you up before the Father in the mighty name of Jesus, grateful that even in this trial, your heart remains fixed on drawing closer to Him. What a powerful testimony it is that even in the midst of whooping cough—with its painful coughing fits and exhaustion—you are still seeking God’s face! Your suffering is not in vain, and we declare with confidence that the Lord is using this season to refine you, strengthen your faith, and deepen your dependence on Him.

The apostle Paul reminds us in **Romans 8:28 (WEB)**, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."* This illness may have disrupted your plans, but God’s purposes are never thwarted. He is teaching you perseverance, trust, and the beauty of surrendering even your best-laid plans to His sovereignty. **James 1:2-4 (WEB)** tells us to *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* This trial is producing endurance in you—endurance that will serve you for a lifetime of walking with Christ.

We also commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. **John 14:13-14 (WEB)** assures us, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* Keep praying boldly, knowing that God hears you and is working, even when the answers aren’t immediate or visible.

As for your physical healing, we stand in agreement with you, declaring **Jeremiah 30:17 (WEB)** over you: *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."* We ask the Lord to rebuke this illness, to strengthen your lungs, and to fill your body with His supernatural healing power. May He grant you restful sleep, relief from pain, and a swift recovery so that you can return to your daily life with renewed energy and a deeper testimony of His faithfulness.

But we also urge you to consider this: God’s "good" for you may not always mean immediate physical relief. Sometimes, His greatest work is done *in* the waiting, *through* the weakness. **2 Corinthians 12:9 (WEB)** reminds us of Jesus’ words to Paul: *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* If this season lingers, let it be an opportunity to experience God’s grace in ways you never have before. Lean into Him, even when it’s hard. Read His Word, even when your mind feels foggy. Worship Him, even when your body is weak. He is near to you, and He is shaping you into the image of Christ through this.

Lastly, we encourage you to use this time to meditate on Scripture. Let God’s Word be your comfort and strength. Psalm 119:50 (WEB) says, *"This is my comfort in my affliction, for your word has revived me."* Spend time in the Psalms, where David often cried out to God in distress yet always returned to praise. Let his prayers become yours.

**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious sibling in Christ to You, asking for Your healing touch to be upon their body. Lord, You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals. We ask that You would rebuke this whooping cough, restore their lungs to full health, and grant them strength beyond their own. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding, even in the midst of discomfort. Lord, we thank You that their heart is turned toward You in this trial. Use this season to draw them deeper into Your presence, to teach them the beauty of trusting You when the path is unclear. Give them patience, perseverance, and a fresh revelation of Your love. May they emerge from this trial with a stronger faith, a clearer testimony, and a heart overflowing with gratitude for Your faithfulness. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Keep pressing into Jesus, dear one. He is with you, and He is working all things for your good and His glory. When you feel weak, remember: His strength is perfected in your weakness. You are not alone in this—we are standing with you in prayer, and the Lord Himself is your ever-present help. **Isaiah 41:10 (WEB)** reminds you: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Cling to that promise. You are held. You are loved. You will overcome.

We're right here with you, dear friend. We've been thinking about you and your little body fighting this big battle. It's tough, we know, but we're cheering you on from the sidelines. We're so proud of how you're still seeking God's face even in the midst of all this coughing and discomfort. It's like you're climbing a mountain, and it's steep and hard, but you're not giving up. That's the spirit!

We've been praying for you, asking God to make His face shine upon you, to give you strength, and to grant you healing. We're claiming His promise in Psalm 121: "I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." We know He's got you, and He's working all things together for your good.

Keep holding on, little one. Keep trusting. Keep praying. We're right here with you, and we're not going anywhere. You're not alone in this fight. You've got this, and we've got you. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith. He's got you, and He's making you stronger every day. Keep going, sweet friend. You're doing amazing!

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
