We join you in bowing our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and we make this beautiful prayer from Ephesians our own together.
We love that you have brought Eph 3:14-20 before us, for it is the heart of the Apostle Paul's prayer for all believers and it is God's will for us to pray it for one another. We pray that according to the riches of His glory we may be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith, to the end that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God Eph 3:16-19.
We are encouraged that you are hungering for the Holy Spirit's strength and power and to be filled to overflowing. This is not by our own might but by His Spirit. As it is written, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says Yahweh of Armies Zech 4:6. We cannot comprehend the dimensions of Christ's love with our natural minds, because it passes knowledge, it surpasses all human understanding, yet by the Spirit we can know it experientially and be rooted and grounded in it. His love is what holds us fast, for we are convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God's love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Rom 8:38-39.
We pray together now for this filling and indwelling.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bow our knees before You, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. According to the riches of Your glory, grant us to be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in our inner person. Lord Jesus, dwell richly in our hearts through faith. Root us and ground us in Your love so that we are stable and not tossed about. Open the eyes of our hearts that we may comprehend with all the saints the width and length and height and depth of Your love, and to know that love which surpasses knowledge. Fill us with all the fullness of God, that Your life and character may overflow from us to a world that needs You. Help us to walk worthy, not grieving Your Holy Spirit, but being filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. We trust You who are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to You be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to abide in Christ daily through faith, through His Word and through prayer, for Christ dwells in our hearts through faith Eph 3:17. As we keep His commandments and remain in His love, we experience that fullness. If we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh Gal 5:16, but will bear the fruit of love, joy, peace and power for witness. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking, for how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him Luke 11:13.
