We join with you in this beautiful and powerful prayer from Eph 3:14-20 and we rejoice that your heart is longing for the very things the apostle Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus.

We love how you have prayed the Scripture itself, for we know that when we pray according to His will, He hears us. This passage shows us the heart of the Father toward us. Paul bows his knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, Eph 3:14-15, acknowledging that all true family and identity comes from Him.

We pray this together with you, that according to the riches of His glory you may be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inward man, Eph 3:16. We ask that the Holy Spirit would strengthen your inner person day by day, for though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day, 2 Cor 4:16. It is not by our own might or power, but by His Spirit, Zech 4:6, that we are enabled to live for Christ.

We pray that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith, to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, Eph 3:17, would know His abiding presence more and more. We are reminded that Christ in you is the hope of glory, Col 1:27, and that as you remain rooted in His love, you will bear much fruit. The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us, Rom 5:5, and we pray that you would be established and built up in that love.

We join you in asking that you may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God, Eph 3:18-19. What a mystery and what a promise, that we can begin to grasp the immeasurable dimensions of the love of Christ, a love that passes all understanding, and yet we are invited to know it personally and to be filled to overflowing with His fullness. We pray that the Lord would give you deeper revelation of how wide His mercy reaches, how long His faithfulness endures, how deep His grace goes to redeem us, and how high His love lifts us to be seated with Christ.

We rest in the glorious assurance that now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen, Eph 3:20-21. We take comfort that God is able to do far more than we can even imagine, and His power is already at work within us through the Holy Spirit.

Our prayer for you is that you would continue to bow your knees daily before the Father, asking for this strengthening, this indwelling, this knowing, and this filling, and that you would walk by faith trusting that Christ indeed dwells in your heart and that you are being filled with all the fullness of God for His glory. We thank our Lord Jesus Christ through whom we have this access, for it is only through His name and His finished work on the cross that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer with us. We hear the longing in it for real inner strength, for Christ to be at home in our hearts, and to know His love more deeply and be filled with what God gives. It is a beautiful thing to ask for, and we are grateful to stand with you in it.

We love how this prayer reminds us that the Holy Spirit is our Helper and Comforter who works quietly within us. His work is not only power for the moment, but also steady truth to guide us and love that grows and shapes our character over time. That kind of being rooted and grounded does not happen all at once. It grows as we stay close to the Lord and walk with His people, letting Him form us day by day.

We have asked of Him according to the riches of His glory that you may be strengthened with power and might through His Spirit in the inner person. For we are such weak things that we cannot glorify Christ without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We may pant and long and pray to honor our Master, but we shall only fail unless the Holy Spirit holds us up and strengthens us. Only when the Holy Spirit comes is there any life and force and power, and His great work is to glorify Christ and to take the veil from our hearts that we may see Him.

Our prayer for you is that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge. It is very sweet when the Holy Spirit shows us the love of Christ, how intensely He loves His people, and a single word of Christ set in the light of the Holy Spirit shines with light that is never dim.

We pray also that you may be filled with all the fullness of God, and kept from grieving that blessed Spirit by whom you are sealed. Cry mightily unto God for His indwelling, live near to Christ, and pray in the Holy Spirit, for to pray in the Holy Spirit is to pray in His power and love and faith, keeping yourselves in the love of God.

We join you in this prayer from Ephesians 3 and bow our knees with you before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Your desire to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner person, to have Christ dwell in your heart through faith, and to be rooted and grounded in love is exactly what the Apostle Paul prayed for the church, and it is a good and holy request.

As it has been taught, the love of Christ lies above the reach of all human knowledge and cannot be grasped by mere reasoning. It is difficult to comprehend its width and length and depth and height, and we come to know it only as the Holy Spirit is given to us and Christ dwells in us through faith. When He dwells there, He makes that love known to us, not by measuring it, but by showing us that it is transcendent and great, and by shedding it abroad richly in our hearts. That gift, which is the Holy Spirit Himself, is the greatest gift, poured out in fullness even before our labors, to make us sons of God and to plead for us with the love of God.

So we pray for you according to the riches of His glory, that God would strengthen you with might by His Spirit in your inner being, that Christ may dwell continually in your heart through faith, that being rooted and grounded in love you may be able with all the saints to comprehend what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to all the fullness of God. By that fullness we mean to be filled with all virtue and with the true knowledge of how God is worshiped in Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We encourage you also to walk by the Spirit, for nothing makes us so open to love as to be spiritual, and nothing invites the Spirit to abide in us like steadfast love. As you walk by the Spirit you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh, and your heart will be kept in peace and holiness. The Spirit Himself points to Christ and bears witness that He is the Son of God who takes away the sin of the world, and it is He who makes Christ known and real to us.

We ask Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to grant you this strength and this knowledge and this fullness, and to keep you in joy and a good conscience.
