🙏 "We bow our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, asking He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power and might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts' through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints, what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen, Eph 3:14-20."

We join you in lifting our hearts to the Father, who is the source of all wisdom, revelation, and strength. Your prayer reflects a deep hunger for the things of God, and we stand with you in seeking His face with all our hearts. The scriptures you’ve shared from Ephesians are powerful reminders of the spiritual riches we have in Christ, His calling, His inheritance, and the surpassing greatness of His power at work within us.

Father, we bow our knees before You, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. We ask that You would grant us, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in the inner man. May Christ dwell in our hearts through faith, so that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may have the power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth of Your love. We long to know the love of Christ, which surpasses all knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Lord, You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. To You be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

We are encouraged by your desire to grow in the knowledge of God and to walk in the fullness of His calling. The apostle Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1 and 3 is not just for the believers in Ephesus, it is for all of us who seek to live in the reality of who God is and what He has done for us through Christ. The Holy Spirit is our Helper, our Teacher, and the One who reveals the deep things of God to us. As Jesus said in John 16:13-14, "However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you." We must continually seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance, for He alone can lead us into the fullness of God’s truth and love.

It is also vital to remember that this pursuit of God is not merely for personal edification but for the glory of His name and the building up of His church. We are called to live in unity, love, and holiness, reflecting the character of Christ to a world in desperate need of Him. As we grow in our understanding of God’s love, let us also grow in our obedience to His Word and our commitment to live lives that honor Him.

Let us also take a moment to reflect on the foundation of our faith. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If anyone reading this has not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Jesus, who died for your sins and rose again, so that you may have eternal life. As Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne of grace. We ask that You would continue to pour out Your Spirit upon us, granting us wisdom, revelation, and a deeper understanding of Your love. Strengthen us in our inner being, that we may walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which we have been called. May we be filled with all the fullness of God, and may our lives bring glory to Your name. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We find such a friend in your prayer. To lift these very words from Ephesians, asking for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, for inner strength, for a grasp of the love of Christ that outstrips knowledge, is to join the apostle in longing for what truly lasts. We are with you in that longing, and we join our hearts to yours before the Father.

It helps us to remember that spiritual growth like this is rarely a sudden arrival. More often it is the slow, accumulating work of grace, deepened through the ordinary habits of prayer, time in Scripture, and worship with other believers. The Holy Spirit does not despise the small, daily yields; in time, He makes them add up to a sturdy, rooted life. So please don’t worry if the fullness feels distant. The very desire you are expressing is evidence that He is already drawing you into it.

If you haven’t already, we’d simply encourage you to plant yourself in the rhythm of these prayers. Read them aloud, let them shape your own words, and linger over them a little at a time. And as you do, remember the phrase “with all the saints.” Knowing the width and length of Christ’s love is something we learn together, in a small group, over coffee with a trusted friend, in the patient give-and-take of a local church. That is often where the unimaginable love of God takes on flesh and becomes real to us.

Lord Jesus, thank you for this brother or sister who thirsts to know you so deeply. Open their eyes to see the hope you have called them to, and ground them daily in your love that surpasses knowledge. Fill them with your Spirit’s strength, and draw them into a community that together grasps how wide and long and high and deep you really are. We ask this confidently in your name, Amen.

That prayer, perfumed with the very breath of Ephesians, rises like incense before the throne. You have asked for nothing less than the Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, for eyes enlightened to the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of His power. This is a petition that delights the heart of the Father, for it is according to His will. He who gave you His Son will He not with Him also freely give you all things? The Spirit that inspired that prayer in you stands ready to answer it by drawing you into the very Truth you have uttered.

Great peace have they which love Thy law, and nothing shall offend them. When the soul pants after the statutes of the Lord, not merely to understand them in the letter but to be taught them by the Spirit in the inner man, that soul is already rooted and grounded in the very love that passes knowledge. The apostle’s bowing of the knees was not a vain posture; it was the attitude of a man who knew that all spiritual blessing comes from above. You are not called to manufacture this strength or to squeeze this comprehension out of your own understanding. The inner man must be strengthened with might by His Spirit. Has He not promised to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think? Then let your helplessness be the very reason for your hope. Declare your ways unto Him, ignorance, deadness, wanderings, all of it, and then plead, “Teach me Thy statutes.” He will not refuse.

Yet see that you do not leave your first love while reaching for the heights of knowledge. The Ephesian church had labour, patience, and sound doctrine, and could not bear them which are evil, yet the Lord had somewhat against them because they had left their first love. The fullness of God is not known by heady speculations or by puffing up one truth at the expense of another. Doctrine without love is a dry riverbed in a drought. The width and length and depth and height of Christ’s love are best comprehended by a heart that remembers how He loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood. Sit at the foot of the cross, for there the love of Christ is seen in its immensity. There the hope of His calling is made sure. There the riches of His inheritance are secured. There the exceeding greatness of His power is displayed in raising dead souls to life.

You have asked to be filled with all the fullness of God. This is a bold prayer indeed, but it is the Spirit’s own framing. The God of Jeshurun rides upon the heaven in your help, and in His excellency on the sky. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Do not, then, question His love when your feelings seem barren or when the enemy whispers, “Wherein hath He loved thee?” The love wherewith He loved you is an everlasting love, a special, peculiar, pre-eminent affection set upon His Church before the world began. He proved it by giving Himself. It is a love that will not let you go.

Therefore, let this prayer remain in the golden censer of Christ’s intercession. Wait upon the Lord, for He will lure you into the wilderness and speak comfortably unto you. The drawing of the Father, the revelation of the Son, and the might of the Spirit shall work together to give you such a taste of that love which is better than life that your lips shall praise Him with joyful lips, and you shall run after Him in glad obedience. To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You reach for the height of heaven with this prayer, and rightly so. To ask for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, to be strengthened with might in the inner man, to comprehend the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, this is the cry of a soul that has begun to taste the true riches. And the Apostle’s words are not mere poetry; they are a ladder set up for us to climb, if we will ascend not with our feet but with our life.

But understand this: the love of Christ is not a thing to be grasped by the intellect alone. Though it lies above all human knowledge, yet you shall know it if Christ dwells in your heart through faith. When the King takes up residence in the inner chamber, He brings with Him the treasury. Then, rooted and grounded in love, you will begin to perceive what no eye has seen, the width and length and depth and height of a love that stooped to enemies. For the summit of virtue is love, and its beginning and end are one. If you love, you know. Not by working miracles, but by loving all men, even those who hate you, you become an imitator of God, who is long suffering toward the unthankful. When you love not just two or three friends for the sake of being loved in return, but when you are disposed toward every man as toward a brother, weeping for the heretic and the heathen as though they were your own flesh, then the fullness of God begins to fill you.

Let no one imagine that this fullness means only some ecstatic knowledge. The fullness of God is the fullness of virtue, of which He is full. So you must make every effort. Strip off the soft garments of luxury and ease, for those who live for the belly, seeking fullness of bread and delicacies, are destroyed. The rich man burning, the Sodomites, the Israelites in the wilderness, were they not given over because they chose a dissolute life? The warfare we wage is not against flesh and blood, but against devils. The armor suited to this battle is not leather and steel, but truth, righteousness, faith, and above all, that true love which is the bond of perfection.

When you have put on this armor, then the power that works in us will do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think. You will command no devils now, perhaps, but if your mouth is kept pure like Christ’s mouth, you shall one day command the abyss of fire and say, “Peace, be still.” And this comes only by humility, referring all glory to God, as Daniel did when he confessed that no wisdom of his own had revealed the mystery, but God alone.

So continue to bow your knees. Continue to ask, for the Father gives good gifts. But know that the answer will be woven into the fabric of a life that loves without limit, shuns luxury, embraces humility, and wrestles not with men but with the spirit of this age. Then you shall comprehend with all the saints, and be filled, and give Him glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever.
