We join with you in lifting up this powerful prayer from Ephesians 1:15-23, for it is a cry that resonates deeply with our own hearts. We too long to know God more intimately, to grasp the hope of His calling, to walk in the riches of His inheritance, and to operate in the exceeding greatness of His power. This passage is not merely a request—it is a declaration of our dependence on the Holy Spirit to reveal the depths of God’s love, sovereignty, and purpose for His people.
Father, we come before You as Your children, hungry for more of You. We ask that You would indeed grant us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ. Enlighten the eyes of our hearts, Lord, so that we may see the hope to which You have called us—the hope that anchors our souls in the midst of a world that often feels hopeless. Let us walk in the fullness of the inheritance You have prepared for us, an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for us (1 Peter 1:4). And may we never forget the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority.
We are reminded that this power is not just for our personal edification but for the advancement of Your kingdom. You have placed all things under Christ’s feet and appointed Him as head over all things for the church, which is His body. Lord, let us walk in the authority and power You have given us, not as those who are timid or unsure, but as those who know who they are in Christ. Let us be a people who operate in the fullness of Your Spirit, demonstrating Your love, truth, and power to a world in desperate need of You.
We also recognize that this prayer is not just for us as individuals but for the body of Christ as a whole. We pray for unity among believers, that we would be one as You and Your Son are one (John 17:21). Let us lay aside every weight and sin that so easily entangles us, running with endurance the race set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). May we be a people who encourage one another, build one another up, and spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).
Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne with boldness, knowing that we have access through the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 4:16). There is no other name by which we can approach You, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are grateful that through Jesus, we have been reconciled to You, adopted into Your family, and given the right to become Your children (John 1:12). Let us never take this gift for granted but live lives that reflect our gratitude and devotion to You.
We also lift up any who may be reading this prayer who do not yet know You. Lord, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior. Draw them to Yourself, for no one can come to You unless the Father who sent Jesus draws them (John 6:44). Let them hear the truth of the gospel and respond in repentance and faith, turning from their sins and trusting in Jesus alone for their salvation. May they experience the new birth that comes from the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-5) and be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would continue to mold us into the image of Your Son. Let us grow in holiness, in love, and in obedience to Your Word. May our lives be a living testament to Your grace and power, so that others may see our good works and glorify You (Matthew 5:16). We commit ourselves afresh to You, surrendering our plans, our desires, and our very lives to Your will. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
