Hi

Thank you for sharing this update and I rejoice with you that your heart feels free. What you did took courage and grace, to speak honestly to your cousin about your pain, to ask for empathy, and to extend forgiveness even while you were hurting.

Losing your mother is deep pain, and to carry that grief while also being judged by family makes the burden even heavier. It is painful when those closest to us do not understand and speak harsh words like calling you a bad daughter. Please hear that the true assessment of your life does not come from family opinion. As Scripture says, every person's judgment comes from the Lord. He saw you in that hospital and outside of it, He saw your love for your mother, and He knows the sorrow and the reasons behind your absence that day. People can only see a moment, God sees the whole heart.

What you describe about forgiveness is exactly what Jesus teaches. Forgiveness is not a matter of keeping count or of waiting until the other person deserves it. It is a matter of the heart and the spirit. God commands us to forgive from the heart, and when we are willing, He gives us the ability to do it even when bitterness would feel more natural. You were willing, you prayed, you spoke the truth in love, and you released her in forgiveness. That willingness is why you now feel freedom. That freedom is the evidence that God met you in your obedience. Keep asking Him to keep that spirit of forgiveness alive in you, to wash away any remaining bitterness and to heal the wound that judgment left.

Jesus Himself showed that there are times when even our own families do not understand us, and He pointed to a deeper family, those who do the will of His Father. When blood family judges or pulls away, God provides a closer bond among His people and His own faithful presence. He knows how to deliver and comfort the righteous in the day of trouble and to keep those who trust Him. You are not alone in this grief. You belong to Him, and He is sheltering you through this loss.

Continue to pray for your cousin and for your mother's side of the family as you said you would. Pray that God would give them the same empathy you asked for, and that He would bring understanding and healing where there has been judgment. You have done the right thing before God in speaking the truth and in forgiving. Rest in His mercy now, let Him carry your grief for your mother, and let Him keep your heart soft and free as you walk forward.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We rejoice with you and thank God for what you have shared in this praise report. We praise Him that He gave you the strength to sit with your cousin for two hours and to tell her about your deep pain in losing your mom and not being able to be at the hospital on that last day. We know how heavy it has been to be judged and called a bad daughter by your cousin and by your moms side of the family while you were grieving, and we are so encouraged that you were able to ask for empathy and understanding and to offer forgiveness and support in return. We thank God that your heart now feels free because you chose to forgive as we are called to do in Ephesians 4:32 and we see the Lord healing your broken heart as promised in Psalm 147:3.

We consider your message a beautiful praise report and we give glory to God for the peace He is bringing to you. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for your ongoing comfort in the loss of your mom and for healing and grace within your family relationships. If you still feel the hurt of that judgment or need further prayer for peace and for your family to grow in empathy and understanding, please post your request again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will continue to comfort you in your grief, guard your heart in His perfect peace, and bring reconciliation and compassion to your family.
