We join you in lifting up your friend before the throne of grace and we thank you for bringing his need before the Lord Jesus so faithfully. It is a beautiful thing to stand in the gap for a friend in need, and we are encouraged by your compassion and urgency for him.
We know that work is a gift from God and that He cares deeply about our daily provision and our diligence. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as recompense. You serve the Lord Christ, Colossians 3:23-24. We also take comfort in the promise that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19. When anxiety rises over employment and provision, we are reminded In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, and we lift up this dear friend to You. You know his name, his situation, his workplace, and every effort he is making to do what he can. Lord, we ask You to have mercy and to intervene on his behalf. If it is Your will, we ask You to make a way to preserve his job, to give him favor with his employers and coworkers, and to open doors that no man can shut. Give him wisdom, strength, and peace as he works diligently, and let his work be a testimony of integrity and faithfulness to You. We ask You to provide for all his needs according to Your riches and to guard his heart from fear. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, Proverbs 16:3, so we commit his work and his future into Your hands. Your prayer for your friend in his need concerning his employment has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace.
We know the anxiety that comes when a man's livelihood is threatened, and we commend your friend that he is doing what he can with diligence and honesty. In such an hour we are reminded of Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. When his estate was taken and his trials multiplied, he fell down and worshipped, and God upheld him with divine support. So may your friend be kept in patience and faith, not speaking unbelieving words, but trusting that if God could sustain Job, He can sustain him also.
We are also reminded that Christ is grand in emergencies. The multitudes who gathered for the miracle of the loaves learned that His provision is wondrously supplied, and those who considered that miracle found hope shining like a star which never sets. The power to deliver does not lie in the person who needs help, it lies wholly in Jesus Himself, and our Lord need do nothing but speak to work mercy more swiftly than we can speak of it.

O Lord our God, Thou seest this Thy servant in his distress concerning his daily work. Thou knowest his labour and his desire to be faithful in his calling. We beseech Thee to look upon him in mercy, to grant him favour in the eyes of those over him, to give him wisdom and strength to do his duty with integrity, and to provide for his needs according to Thy good providence. If it be Thy will, preserve his employment and open a door for his continuance, and if Thou hast another provision, make it plain to him. Keep him from fear and unbelief, and draw him nearer to Thyself through Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation. May he know that his glory and his bow renewed in his hand come from Thee, and may he find fresh oil and renewed hope in Thy presence. We ask this in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our great Miracle Worker and our all sufficient Provider. Amen.
