Disciple of Prayer
Dear God, please Help. You know my situation. There are two who seek my ruin. There are two who seek the ending of my little family and home, whose arrows fire to harm a marriage and a child. The arrows have been firing and hitting for almost 10 years now. How long, Lord, till you act? You know I often ask, I often think. I ask you to take care of everything, in your perfect timing, and to help me to pray through it all. Please Lord, above all else, I pray for your Holy Spirit to grow in my husband and child and for your angels to surround my child in this. Thank you for always listening, Lord Jesus, Amen

We hear the deep anguish in your heart as you cry out to the Lord, and we stand with you in fervent prayer. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you and your family might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The arrows of the wicked have been relentless, but we declare that no weapon formed against your marriage or your child shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is your shield, your fortress, and your deliverer (Psalm 18:2), and He sees every attack, every scheme, and every tear you have shed in this battle.

We rebuke the spirits of division, strife, and destruction that have been aimed at your home. The Bible is clear: "A house divided against itself cannot stand" (Mark 3:25), and we command every assignment of the enemy against your marriage and family to be dismantled in the mighty name of Jesus. The Lord hates hands that shed innocent blood and a heart that devises wicked plans (Proverbs 6:16-19), and we stand against those who have sought your ruin. Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and He will repay. We pray for justice, for the exposure of hidden schemes, and for the Lord to turn the tables on those who have plotted against you.

Your prayer for the Holy Spirit to grow in your husband and child is powerful and aligned with God’s will. We join you in praying that your husband’s heart would be softened, that he would be drawn closer to the Lord, and that the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, would overflow in his life (Galatians 5:22-23). Father, we ask that you would ignite a fire in his soul for Your Word, for prayer, and for leading his family in righteousness. Let him be the spiritual covering and godly example that his wife and child need, as Scripture commands (Ephesians 5:25, 6:4).

For your child, we pray a hedge of protection around their mind, heart, and spirit. May the angels of the Lord encamp around them (Psalm 34:7) and guard them from every snare of the enemy. We ask that the Lord would establish their steps, that they would grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). Let them know the love of the Father deeply, so that no lie or arrow of the enemy can take root in their life. We declare that your child is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that God has a purpose and plan for their life that no weapon of the enemy can thwart.

You have asked, "How long, Lord, till you act?" We know that God’s timing is perfect, even when it feels unbearable. The psalmist cried out, "How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?" (Psalm 13:1), yet he ended that same psalm with, "But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation" (Psalm 13:5). We encourage you to hold fast to that trust. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness, but He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9). His delays are not His denials. He is working even when you cannot see it, and He will act on your behalf in ways that will bring Him glory and your family deliverance.

We also want to gently remind you that prayer is not just about asking God to act, it is about aligning your heart with His. As you pray through this trial, ask the Lord to search your heart and reveal any areas where bitterness, unforgiveness, or fear may have taken root. The enemy would love for you to become weary and give up, but Scripture tells us, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up" (Galatians 6:9). Keep pressing into the Lord, keep standing on His promises, and keep declaring His truth over your family.

We pray now with you, lifting your marriage, your child, and your own heart before the throne of grace:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, but also with unwavering faith in Your power and Your promises. Lord, You see the battle that has raged for nearly a decade against this family. You see the arrows that have been fired, the schemes that have been devised, and the pain that has been endured. But we declare that You are the God who fights for Your children. You are the God who turns mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11) and who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5).

We ask You, Lord, to arise and scatter the enemies of this marriage and this family. Let every plan of the wicked be brought to nothing, and let Your light expose every hidden agenda. We pray for divine intervention, for Your hand to move in ways that only You can, and for Your justice to prevail. Father, we ask that You would bind the hands of those who seek to harm this family and that You would turn their hearts toward You, if it be Your will.

For this husband, we pray for a spiritual awakening. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him closer to You. Let him be a man after Your own heart, leading his family with wisdom, love, and integrity. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and let him walk in the fullness of Your purpose for his life. For this child, we pray protection, peace, and a deep, personal relationship with You. Let them know that they are loved, valued, and chosen by You. Surround them with Your angels, and let them grow in the knowledge and fear of the Lord.

And for this dear sister in Christ, we pray for endurance, strength, and unwavering faith. Let her not grow weary in this battle, but let her find rest in Your presence. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let her trust in You with all her heart, leaning not on her own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). Remind her daily that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Lord, we ask that You would heal every wound, restore what has been broken, and rebuild what has been torn down. Let this family be a testament to Your faithfulness, Your power, and Your love. We pray that in Your perfect timing, You would bring an end to this trial and turn it into a testimony of Your glory.

We pray all of this in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to the throne of grace. Amen.

We hear the ache in those words, almost ten years of arrows aimed at your marriage and your child is a long time to stand under that strain. There’s nothing dramatic to add to the prayer you’ve already prayed; you’ve laid it out plainly and faithfully. What we want to do is simply steady your hands a little.

When a battle stretches on that long, one of the hardest things can be carrying it alone in your own head and heart. Is there someone in your life, a trusted friend, a small group, or a pastor, who could actually sit with you and pray out loud together, not just promise “I’ll pray for you”? Knowing someone else shoulders this burden with you, even without knowing every detail, often brings a relief that private prayer alone sometimes can’t. If that feels hard, start small: ask one person to stand with you against the destructive intent you’ve described.

While you wait on God’s timing, we’re grateful you’re asking for the Holy Spirit to grow in your husband and child. That prayer is already at work in your home, protecting what matters most regardless of what arrows keep coming. Keep asking. Keep believing.

Jesus, we add our voices to this parent’s cry. Shield their child with your angels, and let your Spirit grow strong in their husband and child in ways they can see. Break every scheme that seeks their ruin, and give them all a tangible sense of your presence. Sustain this one who has been faithful in asking, and let hope outweigh fear tonight. Amen.

You perceive the arrows, and it is well to see the secondary hand that thrusts sorely at you. There are those who seek your ruin, who aim at your marriage and your child. But have you not also seen the primary hand? The smarts and sorrows of a child of God come from the Father’s hand, and He takes not the lancet to kill but to cure. The will of the Lord be done. It is not punishment for your sin, that fell on Christ, your Ransom, but chastisement, which works for your good. The Lord is good, and His mercy endures forever.

You ask how long. That cry has risen from the prison before, and God hears it. He has looked down from the height of His sanctuary to hear your groaning, and with Him to hear means to answer. Yet He waits to be gracious, and He would have you wait only upon Him, not upon a change in the two who vex you, nor upon your own strivings, but upon Jehovah alone. Blessed are all they that wait for Him. Your expectation is from Him, and He will not fail you. The deliverance will come, but it may be after many days. Watch unto prayer.

Concerning your child, the Lamb is safe whom the Great Shepherd deigns to keep. God has said, “Deliver him from going down to the Pit,” and that deliverance is an eternal one. Teach the little one to hear God’s voice, to say, “Speak, Lord; for Your servant hears.” Pray that the Holy Spirit would grow in both husband and child, and having used your best judgment according to the Word, expect a distinct directive from God. He will guide, and you will not go far wrong.

Do not temporize with this darkness. You have been delivered from the power of it, so do not put yourself under its power again. Rejoice in God, for He has delivered you. The arrows that have hit for ten years are under His control, and they cannot destroy what Christ has ransomed. Let your soul wait only upon God; your expectation is from Him. He will plead the causes of your soul.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have prayed, and I will answer plainly. The silence of God is not the ignorance of God. When He seems to delay, it is not because He does not see the two who seek your ruin. He sits at the right hand of God expecting until His enemies are put under His feet. The delay is for the sake of the faithful who are still to be brought forth and born, and for the perfecting of your own household. Do not measure His care by the visible peace of the moment.

The very things by which we are hurt, by these same we are benefited. Joseph's mistress tried to ruin him, but her scheming placed him in safety. His brothers sold him, but they freed him from those who hated him. Even the eunuch's forgetfulness was ordered so that Joseph's deliverance might come from God and not from man. So it may be with these two. They intend arrows, but God can make each arrow drive your husband and child toward the Rock that cannot be shaken. Build on that rock, not on the sand of present comfort.

Continue to honor marriage. The bed undefiled is not polluted by the malice of outsiders. The defilement that matters comes from choice, not from the arrows of enemies. What God has joined, their hatred cannot undo unless someone within the home opens the gate. So do not only ask for the arrows to stop. Ask daily for the Holy Spirit to grow in your husband and child. That is a stronger wall than any visible defense. Pray as the Apostle did, that you may be delivered from temptation, not merely from enemies, and that your prayers and service may be accepted.

God is jealous for your love. Sometimes He permits a long trial so that you will not trust in the safety of your little family as if it were your true security. He wills to be loved most of all. The two who seek your ruin cannot snatch your husband or child out of His hand unless He allows it for their salvation. So keep praying through it, as you have been doing. The silence is not neglect. He hears every prayer. He is arranging the deliverance at the right moment, and when it comes, it will be plain that it was God and not man who saved you.

For the child, ask and trust that God is able to set His angels around the little one. But rest the child in God's care, not in visible safety. Pray for the Holy Spirit. That is the surest guard.

Ten years of arrows is a long time to stand under fire. The weariness in your prayer is real, and the Lord does not despise it. But remember this first: the two who seek your ruin are not your true enemy. Scripture says plainly that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world. The attack on your marriage and child is an attack on something God established and loves, and he is not indifferent to it.

Take up the whole armor of God. The shield of faith is given so that you may quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Every lie, every manipulation, every attempt to divide your home meets its match when you hold up what God has said and trust his power more than you fear the arrows. The cure for fear is not to study the threats; the cure is to remember the Lord. Keep your eyes on him, not on the ones firing at you.

Let the word of God dwell in you as a defense. When the enemy speaks fear, answer with the promises. When the accuser brings up failure, answer with the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses from all sin. When your mind is flooded with worst possibilities, lay against them the truth that your marriage is God's design from the beginning, that your child is in his hands, and that the Lord is stronger than every adversary. The Word is not only a shield; it is also the weapon by which strongholds are attacked. Pray the word back to God. Let your prayers become your own heart's cry, not just repeated words, and ask the Holy Spirit to work deeply in your husband and child. Keep bringing your child to Jesus in prayer, just as he welcomed little ones and blessed them. You are right to ask for angels to surround your child, but place your confidence in the God who commands them.

At the same time, do not mistake prayer for passivity. Nehemiah prayed, but he also set a watch day and night. Take practical steps to guard your home. Set boundaries where boundaries are needed. Be watchful over what comes into your family and what voices are allowed to speak into it. Fight for your household with both faith and wisdom, because the Lord is with you in the battle.

The length of this trial does not mean God has forgotten you. Joseph knew what it was to have evil intended against him for years, and he could look back and say, you meant it for evil, but God intended it for good. Do not bail out under the pressure. Do not give God only a short season and call that waiting. There are times when the waiting itself is the work God is doing in your own heart, teaching you to stand when you cannot yet see the end. Delayed answers are not denials; they may be God preparing something better than you know to ask for. How long? The Lord knows the day, and his timing is perfect. His power is not exhausted by ten years.

Continue entrusting your husband and your child to him. Continue praying through it all. Stand in the name of Jesus, resist the devil, and he will flee. You are not standing alone.
