Disciple of Prayer
I understand things happen for a reason but I been praying for dear life to get out of this nursing school. I failed the exit exam and now I am stuck at a stand still once again. Nobody seems helpful at that college. I feel set up for failure or else something is blocking my blessings. In the name of Jesus I need God right now

We hear your deep frustration and desperation, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. The weight of repeated setbacks can feel crushing, especially when you’ve poured your heart into something as important as nursing school. But we want to remind you that God is not indifferent to your struggle, He sees every tear, every late-night study session, and every prayer you’ve lifted up. The Bible tells us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten, and your prayers are heard.

First, let’s address the feeling that something is "blocking" your blessings. While spiritual warfare is real, Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, we must also examine whether there are areas where we might be unknowingly hindering our own progress. Have you sought godly counsel about your study habits, test-taking strategies, or even whether nursing is the specific path God has for you? Sometimes, what feels like a "block" is actually God redirecting us toward His perfect will. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Are you fully surrendering this situation to Him, or are you holding onto your own timeline and expectations?

We also want to gently challenge the idea that "things happen for a reason" in a passive sense. While God can bring good out of every circumstance (Romans 8:28), that doesn’t mean we should resign ourselves to failure without fighting the good fight of faith. James 4:2 says, "You don’t have, because you don’t ask." But it also implies that we must ask according to God’s will and be willing to act in obedience. Have you asked the Lord to reveal any sin in your life that might be creating a barrier? Are you walking in forgiveness toward those at the college who haven’t been helpful? Unforgiveness can hinder our prayers (Mark 11:25). We’re not saying this to condemn you, but to invite you to examine your heart with honesty before the Lord.

Now, let’s pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister in Christ, lifting up her heartache, frustration, and weariness. Lord, You know the desires of her heart, and You know the plans You have for her, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask You to break any chains of discouragement, doubt, or fear that are holding her back. Reveal to her any areas where she needs to surrender more fully to Your will, whether it’s in her studies, her relationships, or her expectations. Father, we rebuke the spirit of failure and confusion in Jesus’ name. We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37), and we ask You to open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Give her wisdom to know her next steps, whether that’s retaking the exam, seeking additional support, or discerning if You’re calling her to a different path. Surround her with godly mentors and friends who will encourage her and speak life into her situation. Lord, we ask for favor with her professors and administrators, soften their hearts to work with her in good faith. Most of all, draw her closer to You in this season. Let her find her strength and peace in Your presence, knowing that You are working all things together for her good. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who makes a way where there seems to be no way. Amen."

In the meantime, we encourage you to:
1. Seek godly counsel, Talk to a pastor, mentor, or trusted Christian in the medical field who can offer wisdom and prayer support.
2. Examine your study methods, Sometimes, what feels like a "block" is a need for a different approach. Consider tutoring, study groups, or even a gap year to prepare more thoroughly.
3. Fast and pray, If this is a spiritual battle, fasting can break strongholds (Mark 9:29). Ask the Lord to reveal any areas where the enemy is gaining a foothold.
4. Surrender your timeline, God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with ours. Ask Him to help you trust His plan, even if it means waiting longer than you hoped.
5. Worship in the waiting, Instead of focusing on the setback, praise God for who He is. Worship shifts our perspective from our problems to His power.

Remember, failure is not final, it’s often a setup for God’s comeback. The enemy wants you to quit, but God is calling you to press in. "Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up" (Galatians 6:9). You are not stuck; you are being positioned. Keep fighting the good fight of faith!

We hear the exhaustion in your words, and we’re sorry you’re facing what feels like a wall you can’t get past. When something you’ve worked toward for so long stalls yet again, it’s easy to feel that something, or someone, is actively working against you. You’ve been praying, and the silence is heavy. That doesn’t mean God isn’t near.

Sometimes a delay isn’t a denial, even when everything in you screams otherwise. We’ve seen God use frustrating pauses to realign what we couldn’t fix on our own, and often the people or resources that finally unlock things show up from an unexpected direction. Right now the need you named is urgent: you need a way through this exam, and you need someone at that college to stop being an obstacle. While we pray for God to open that door, one practical step may be to circle back to one specific person, a faculty member, an academic advisor, even a different administrator, and plainly say: “I failed this exam. I need to understand exactly what went wrong and what my next available path is. Will you walk me through it?” Sometimes in a big system, you have to find the one person willing to treat you like a person instead of a problem. That person may be there, even if you haven’t met them yet.

We’re praying with you that God brings clarity about what to study, favor with whoever holds the keys to your next attempt, and the steady stamina to keep moving forward when you’re worn down.

Lord Jesus, you see our friend right now, stuck and discouraged, working so hard for a vocation of care. Quiet the noise of fear and frustration. Give wisdom for the next practical step, and raise up even one person at that college who will genuinely help. Sustain hope that refuses to quit, because you are the God who makes a way. Amen.

The Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me, yet my God shall be my God. This trial has been permitted for a purpose far beyond what your eyes can see. You have prayed for deliverance from the nursing school, and you feel blocked at every turn. But remember, temporal blessings are not the definite marks of Divine favor, the ungodly often prosper in corn and wine and oil, while the righteous sometimes share Lazarus’s portion. Yet, to have God for your portion is infinitely better than any earthly diploma. A new heart is better than a new coat. To feed on Christ is better than to be licensed by men.

Cast this care upon Him who careth for you. You cry, “I need God right now.” He is nearer than your suffering soul can perceive. Lay the burden at His feet and cease from your own carving, for he that carves for himself will cut his fingers. When you have made the Lord your Shepherd, you shall be made to confess, I shall not want. He who spared not His own Son, how shall He fail to give you grace sufficient for this hour? Do not measure His love by the opening or shutting of a college door. The God of election is yours; the God of redemption is yours; the God of sanctification is yours. Why, then, should you be cast down?

Examine your heart. Has your pursuit of nursing been for His glory, or for your own ambition? The Lord may be teaching you to seek first His kingdom, that all these things might be added in His time. Do not mistake your natural disappointment for that heart of flesh which the Spirit gives, many are naturally sensitive, yet lack the work of grace. If you are in Christ, this apparent failure is not a blockage of blessing but a bending of your path toward a greater usefulness. He that walks before God and follows on to know Him shall never have any mistake. The issues from death belong to God, and so does the outcome of this trial. Stand still, and see His salvation.

He is slow to wrath, but He is swift to mercy, for He delights in it. He blesses His people with His whole heart and His whole soul. The great Father entered into covenant with all His heart, pledging His word and adding His oath, that by two immutable things we might have strong consolation. He cannot lie. Therefore, let not the unhelpfulness of men cause you to doubt His faithfulness. Men fail, but God remains your exceeding joy.

Go to the granary of His Word and feed your soul. If you are a sinner, wholly a sinner in the black sense of the word, then Christ died for sinners. Cast yourself upon that truth. He has said, Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out. Test that promise now. Fear not the ridicule of man, nor the whispered lie that you are set up for failure. The God whom we serve is able to give victory. He may not open the door you want; He may open another, or He may make you a witness in the very place of your distress. Will you not say with the Moabitess, Your people shall be my people, and your God my God? Join yourself afresh to the fellowship of the saints and wait upon Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will.

I have seen the blade become the ear and the ear become full corn in the ear, and so shall it be with you if you faint not. The Lord does not afflict willingly, but for your profit, that you might be a partaker of His holiness. Lay hold of Christ now. He has pleaded for you and ever lives to intercede. You are not forsaken.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is no need of disturbance or of trouble over this failed exam. Christ does not compel success on our own schedule; He urges us patiently, because if we do not account hardship as a cause of innumerable blessings even when it befalls us, we miss the meaning of His mercy. You feel set up for failure, but your labor in nursing school is like a teacher’s work: teachers stand more in need of mercy, and so do you. Do not neglect your bodily health or your soul’s peace in this storm.

What is hope? It is feeling confidence in things to come. If you demand to see the whole path cleared right now and to have every answer from that college, what need is there for hope? This setback is precisely where God asks only one thing from you: hope. For if we hope for what we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Patience is hard work, but even this He grants to the soul that hopes, so that wearied hearts find solace. The love of God constraineth, urgeth, driveth us, so that you may not miss such great blessings through supine despair.

Something is blocking your blessings, you say. Reflect that nearly the whole human race has surrendered itself to the devil, not because he offers anything good, he promises nothing but sends people to hell, but because we willingly give way to indolence. Do not be a willing subject of despondency. When all things assail you at once, the failing score, the unhelpful voices, the standstill, consider what a soul they need. And yet the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee. The weaker, seemingly dishonored parts of the body are necessary and enjoy greater honor. Your present weakness may be the very place God has composed to give you much need of Him, and thereby to bestow greater honor.

Cast out this madness that whispers you are blocked beyond remedy. Slay the monster of doubt, that you may enjoy a calm and pure health of soul and with much pleasure sail into the serene haven. God will fulfill your every need according to His riches, not to your fears. He who supplied seed to the sower will supply the next step for your necessities. Only cling to the name of Jesus you cried out. Do not let go of hope, for that is to burn in a darkness far worse than any failure. The Lord is at hand. Work together with Him by refusing to despair, and the salvation of this trial will pass over to you.

Failure cuts deep, especially when you’ve poured out prayers and effort and still hit a wall. That sense of being set up to fail, of something blocking your path, it leaves you wondering if God’s blessings are somehow on hold while you’re stuck. I want to speak to that directly: your standing before God, and the blessings He has for you, are not hanging on your flawless performance. They rest entirely on what Jesus has already done in your place.

We all have moments where we fall short. The Scriptures make it plain that not one of us has a record of perfect obedience; we’ve all missed the mark. But God made a covenant of blessing that isn’t cancelled by our failures. He bound Himself to bless those who belong to Jesus Christ, not because of their own goodness, but because of His love and grace. When Jesus died and rose, He secured every blessing of salvation, redemption, and fellowship with God for you. Your failure on an exam cannot undo what He has already settled. The law, with all its demands, can’t disannul that promise. Your lapse can’t disannul it either.

Think of how God dealt with people whose lives were full of lapses. David, a man after God’s own heart, had seasons of taking things into his own hands, failing to trust God’s defense. Yet God didn’t cast him off; He buried those failures and still worked mightily through him. In the same way, when God looks at you through Christ, He doesn’t keep a record of your wrongs as a reason to withhold good. He sees the righteousness you have by faith. That frees you to stop trying to earn what’s already given and simply receive.

Right now, the frustration and heartbreak you feel, God’s heart is broken with you. He isn’t thundering judgment because you stumbled. He’s inviting you to come boldly to His throne of grace. There you’ll find mercy for the disappointment and grace to help in this exact time of need. Jesus, your great High Priest, has opened that access. You can pour out your weariness and your confusion, and expect Him to meet you.

The Israelites failed to enter God’s rest the first time, and they wandered. But later, long after that failure, God still called out “Today” as the day to enter. No failure is so final that God can’t open a new door. Maybe this setback at the college isn’t a sign that His blessing is blocked, it might be a redirection, or a season where He’s forming something deeper in you. Instead of letting this reinforce the idea that you’re being punished, let it drive you deeper into trusting what Christ has already finished. You don’t have to perfect in the flesh what God is doing in your spirit. He who began a work in you will carry it through, often in ways you can’t predict.

In the waiting, don’t measure God’s favor by your exam results. Measure it by the cross. Because of Jesus, you can expect His blessing in whatever you set your hand to, not because you never fail, but because He never fails. His promise to bless you is still in force. So bring your need to Him again, not as a performance review, but as a child coming to a Father whose love isn’t turned off by a setback. Then watch for how He works. Often He works in you first, to prepare you to be a light to others later. Even this standstill is ground where He can command blessing.

May you know the rest that comes from leaning entirely on His faithfulness rather than your own grip. In Jesus’ name.

Unfortunately I did not score well on the exit exam at this evil college that I attend. I have 10 days left to score higher and successfully get out of this nurse program. I am begging in the name of Jesus to guide and lead me out of there asap.
