My name is ### and I'm ### years old and live in ###. My fiancée ###(###) and I have been on drugs (mainly injecting heroin) our entire adult lives. Because neither of us can hold a job we have to steal and deal drugs to get our daily fix. We know this is wrong and want to change our lifestyles. If we keep going down this path much longer I'm afraid we'll end up dead or in jail. Please pray for us and we appreciate any words of encouragement as we struggle to get clean. Find an NA group, find a church. I'll pray for you. I had a brother and stepson who were both addicts. Notice I said HAD. My stepson died in 2007 @ age 23 from drug overdose/suicide and nearly died two years earlier of the same and my brother in 2009 @ age 50 of a drug-induced heart attack. I know first hand what your parents must have been going through with your situation. You are making the right decision to change your lives while you are still young. Talk to your parents and let them know you want help and you need their support. Disassociate yourself with ALL of your drug friends and associates. A lot of folks go on methadone to get off heroin BUT it is HARDER to get off of meth than heroin. I have seen that first hand.

Rehab center may work for you because you WANT to get off drugs. Be careful though because some require that you have used in the past day or so. I went through that with my stepson. Some can go cold turkey.

As I said, you have to cut all ties with your drug friends. Find an NA meeting and attend regularly. Find a good church. Some churches even host NA meetings. Ours used to host AA. Do a lot of praying, ask God for forgiveness and strength to get you through this. It will not be easy. My stepdaughter got out of prison today. She was an addict too. Now she's on prescription meds to stabilize her. Her liver is messed up from her drug use and there is a strong possibility she will need a transplant. She just turned 29 a few weeks ago.

Thank you Lord that you have placed a seed inside their hearts to want to love you God and be whole in your name dear Lord. Please give them the right path to follow, the right numbers to call, the right person to talk to! Please God!! Please Help them! Keep them safe, give them strength, help them hold on dear Lord and let them know that YOU ARE GOD and no one and no thing is greater.

Holy God and loving Father, I consciously place my fears, worries, anxieties, and burdens in your hands. I know that I have so little power to change the outcome of these events and I trust that you will work what is pleasing to you, and best for me, out of these situations.
