Jesus Christ please help me and my family

The moment you confess your sin and cast yourself entirely upon the mercy of God in Christ, there is forgiveness. “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” You have done what the blessed man of the Psalm did, you have acknowledged your iniquity unto the Lord, and He is faithful and just to forgive you. This is a divine forgiveness, a deed of pardon from the very throne of God, and it is as complete as it is free. The whole of your guilt is swallowed up forever. Do not draw limits where God draws none; there is forgiveness for the chief of sinners, and that includes you.

Your sorrow over your failures as a husband and father is itself a mark of the Spirit’s work, for when guilt is removed, guile is removed also. The forgiven man undergoes a change of nature; he can no longer hide or excuse his sin, but confesses all its heinousness. Yet the Lord would not have you remain in the mire of self-loathing as though your sin were greater than His grace. To be forgiven is such sweetness that honey is tasteless in comparison. Let this whisper drive away despair: “There is forgiveness.” Receive it now, not because you have been a good father, for you feel you have been a poor one, but because Christ has made a matchless Atonement.

As for your son, be ready to forgive him even as you have been forgiven. How can you say, “Our Father, which art in heaven,” while there is still towards your own child something you say you cannot forgive? Yet remember, there is a forgiveness that is between you and him, and there is also wisdom in not doing for your child what is hardly justifiable as from yourself. You have given him and his path to God; that is your first and best work. The Lord can break the chains of hard drugs and alcohol. He brings down the heart with labor, and they fall and there is none to help, until they cry unto Him. Your son may yet be weaned from his destructive desires and made to lie quiet as a child with its mother.

Your own struggle with drink, bring it to the same fountain. There is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. And there is more than pardon; there is healing. When Jesus said, “Man, thy sins are forgiven thee,” He soon after said, “Take up thy couch, and walk.” Trust Him for the double cure. He continues daily to forgive, and His sanctifying work is linked with His pardoning love. Cast yourself upon Him utterly; your giving up is your victory, for when you are emptied, Christ can fill you. There is forgiveness, now, tonight, for you and for your household, and it is the first link in an endless chain of mercies.
Thank you for your prayers and advice 🙏

The weight of self-accusation you carry in this plea is not hidden from the One who sees all. That you pour out your failure before Him as a broken and contrite sacrifice is a thing precious in His sight. You name yourself a loser, you confess you were too soft, you lament your household’s bondage to drink. Hear then what is greater than all that condemns you: the blood of the Son shed for you. Forgiveness is not a small matter won by your own reformation, it flows from that crimson stream which speaks better than the blood of Abel. None of your offenses, if laid before that mercy-seat with honest grief, shall be called to account against you.

Yet do not let the enemy twist your sorrow into despair by fixing your eyes only on past wreckage. You say you give up and give it all to Him: that is the very posture of faith He asks for. But this surrender must not become an idle laying down of all duty. He commands you to walk in Christ even as you received Him, rooted, built up, established. That means the habits of your home, the use of wine which has mastered you, the pattern of weeks, must be pulled out of the mire and planted firmly in new soil. He who gave His Son will also eagerly give you strength to endure the painful remedy. Gentleness was not your error; softness that refused holy correction is another matter. True gentleness bears long but also speaks truth at cost to itself.

Now for your son: you have stood with him in courts and fierce trials. That is not the mark of a loser. Yet love must now call him to life. The deepest mercy you can seek for him and his companion is not that they find a comfortable road but that they be found by the Hound of Heaven who chases sinners into true repentance. For his girlfriend, whatever confusion surrounds flesh or birth, the one truth of our creation remains: God made them male and female for His glory. Any path that wanders from that designed order into a counterfeit is not a thing to celebrate but a soul to be pitied and pointed to the healing authority of Christ the King. No true love blesses what God calls a dead end; it weeps, it prays, it warns, and it stays near while never lighting a candle to a lie.

Do not therefore imagine your intercession ends with a sigh. Plead for both of them, not that their plans succeed, but that their hearts break open to the only One who can make all things new. The same Christ who is not ashamed to call us brethren took flesh to reclaim prodigals and tax-collectors, but He never once pretended their former rebellion was health. Bring your son’s peril before the throne with fasting and tears, but do not ask a holy God to bless that which His Word cannot own.

The darkness you and your family have sat in has been deep, but the light that has enlightened you is stronger. You were counted worthy of such surpassing gifts, adoption, the Spirit, the forgiveness of a mountain of sins, not because of your worthiness, but to show the riches of His grace. Let that grace now train you to say no to the despair that whispers it is all finished. It is not finished while breath remains. Abound in thanksgiving, even with trembling, for the mercy that allows you this very hour to turn again. Rise from the ash heap, take up the battle in your own soul against the drink that has stolen much, and in the strength of that repentance, become a living sign to your son of what the Lord can do with broken straw. The way is not lost while Christ still stands as the Way.
