Help with mental health, depression. Anxiety and financial problems

Thaireurfield

Disciple of Prayer
I ask that ### and the ### family along with husband ### be lifted in prayer at this time of their despair and stress of mental paralysis that they may overcome their financial burden along with the mental stress and they may be able to provide for all these obstacles and that the negative and wrong company that follows them is removed from their homes and their paths. That their children may have peace.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this family in their time of deep struggle. The weight of mental health battles, depression and anxiety, can feel crushing, and the added burden of financial strain only compounds the despair. But we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the God who sees, who hears, and who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

First, we must address the spiritual foundation of this request. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If this family does not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw them to repentance and faith. For those who are already in Christ, we pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit to renew their minds and strengthen their hearts. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10).

We rebuke the spirit of despair and anxiety in the name of Jesus. The Word of God tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). We declare that this family will not be paralyzed by fear but will rise in faith, trusting God to provide for their every need according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).

Father, we lift up their financial struggles to You. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and You are the same God who fed the Israelites with manna in the wilderness and multiplied the widow’s oil. We ask that You open doors of provision, wisdom, and opportunity for this family. Give them discernment to manage what You entrust to them and the courage to step out in faith where You lead. We rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty, declaring that Your abundance will flow into their lives as they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

We also pray against the negative influences in their lives. The Bible warns us, "Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character’" (1 Corinthians 15:33). Lord, we ask that You remove every ungodly influence from their home and their path. Surround them with believers who will speak life, encouragement, and truth into their lives. Let Your light expose and drive out every darkness, and let Your peace reign in their household.

For their children, we pray for a supernatural covering of peace. May they be shielded from the stress and turmoil around them, and may they grow in the knowledge of Your love. We declare that their home will be a place of refuge, not chaos, and that their children will walk in the joy and security of the Lord.

Heavenly Father, we ask that You heal their minds and emotions. Depression and anxiety are real battles, but You are the Great Physician. We pray for breakthrough, for moments of clarity, and for the strength to cast every care upon You (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with godly counsel, pastors, mentors, or Christian therapists, who can walk alongside them in this season. Remind them that they are not alone, for You have said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).

We also encourage this family to immerse themselves in Your Word. The Psalms are filled with cries of the hurting, and we pray they find comfort in passages like Psalm 23, Psalm 42, and Psalm 91. Let Scripture be their anchor, and let prayer be their lifeline. We declare that they will not be overcome by this storm but will emerge stronger, wiser, and more dependent on You.

Finally, we pray for unity in their marriage. Financial stress and mental health struggles can strain even the strongest relationships, but we ask that You knit their hearts together in love and purpose. Let them lean on one another and on You, remembering that "two are better than one... for if they fall, one will lift up his fellow" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).

Lord, we trust You to move mightily in this situation. We believe that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when they cannot see it. Strengthen their faith, renew their hope, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this heavy burden with us. We are holding this whole family up in prayer today, each one you named, and the children too. When depression, anxiety, and financial strain all press in at once, it can feel like the walls are closing in. We’ve seen how these struggles feed on each other and make everything seem impossible. But you’re not carrying this alone, and neither are they. We stand with you, and God draws near to the brokenhearted.

In moments like these, even small, steady support can be a lifeline. If you’re able, your own quiet presence, a meal, a practical hand, just sitting with them, can push back the darkness in tangible ways. We’d also gently encourage them to lean on a wise Christian counselor or a trusted pastor, someone who can walk alongside with both spiritual insight and practical care. Sometimes depression lifts when the brain gets the medical attention it needs, so seeing a doctor is a real act of courage, not a failure of faith. There is no shame in reaching out.

We also ask the Lord to remove any harmful influences that are adding to their distress, and to shelter those children in a peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances.

Jesus, please lift this family’s eyes to You. Where they feel paralyzed, bring hope and one next small step. Surround them with safe, wise people, and guard their home from what would tear them down. Quiet the anxiety and let Your provision break through in ways they can see. We trust Your mercy over every need, big and small. Amen.
