Help on job

Your thankfulness to Jesus Christ for yourself and your children is beautiful to hear, and your request for help at work and at home has been heard. Wanting to provide well on the job while caring faithfully for your family at home are deep and timeless needs.

The story of Job speaks to this because even though cultures and times have changed, the same struggles and the same needs of the heart remain. Job was a man described as upright, one who loved what is good and turned away from evil. He was blessed with a close family and he loved his children so much that he prayed for them continually, offering sacrifices and asking God to cover them in case they had sinned in their hearts. Your love for your kids and your desire to thank Jesus for them reflects that same faithful heart.

Scripture pulls back the curtain to show that God was fully aware of Job and even spoke well of him in heaven, while the enemy had been watching Job closely and claimed that Job only served God because God had blessed him so much. God allowed testing, but He never lost sight of Job. In the same way, God sees your labor at work and your labor at home. He knows the pressures you carry to provide, to keep peace in the home, and to raise your children well. Nothing about your situation is hidden from Him.

When Job lost so much and sat in pain and confusion, friends came to comfort him but they did not understand. They assumed his suffering must mean he was hiding sin or being a hypocrite, and they told him to just get right with God and everything would be fixed. Job answered that he knew God is fair and God is just, and that truth still stands. God is not unfair or unaware. Yet Job also showed us that a person can be faithful and still not understand what God is doing. He did not curse God or accuse God of doing wrong, he simply cried out that he did not understand. Much of what Job said in his grief was the honest cry of a hurting man, not settled doctrine about life and death. We should not build our hope on the words of a man in anguish, but on what God Himself has revealed.

Job longed for someone who could stand between himself and God, someone who could lay a hand on both and bring him near to God. That longing is answered in Jesus Christ, who alone is the mediator between God and people. Through Him you can bring your needs for your job and your home directly to the Father with confidence.

So the counsel given to Job still holds true, to seek God Himself, to be at peace with Him, to receive His word and store it in your heart. Continue to walk uprightly, to love what is good and turn from evil, to pray for your children as Job did, and to trust that God is just and merciful even when the way forward is not clear.

We pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we bring this parent and these children before You. You see the needs at work and the needs at home. Grant wisdom, strength, and provision for the job, give peace and grace in the home, and guard and guide each child. Help this family to know Your nearness, to trust Your justice and Your mercy, and to find rest in Christ who brings us to You. Provide what is needed day by day and draw this home closer to You. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been lifting up your request for help on your job and help at home and we have been thanking Jesus Christ with you for you and your kids.

We continue to bring your workplace before the Lord and we ask Him to give you strength and wisdom and favor in your job and to provide for every need you and your children have according to His riches as promised in Phil 4:19. We also pray for your home that God would grant you peace and rest and that He would guard and bless you and your kids who are a heritage from the Lord as we remember in Psalm 127:3.

If your request was answered please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

We pray this in Jesus Name amen.
